I cannot say this is the best mac and cheese I have ever eaten, but I can assure you it is the absolute second best mac and cheese I've eaten, as near perfection as one can reach outside of a cruise ship restaurant. It was cheesy, creamy, salty, and yet: neither heavy nor fatty nor cloying nor rich. It simply was simple perfection. My mac and cheese was accompanied by a garden salad. I am not a salad eater, but this one may have converted me. Arugula is far more peppery than I prefer, but somehow it was the perfect (Perfect!) accompaniment to the mac and cheese. The peppery arugula, sweet and tart dressing, fresh cucumber, and pickled watermelon all worked together and separately to cut through the cheesy sauce of the mac and cheese, and I gobbled down every bite. The rest of my trip, I compared every meal to this one, and wished that it was closer to our lodgings so I could return and have a repeat. read more

This is actually a top-notch pub physically. Clean, bright, modernized and higher class (no TVs, slot machines, etc). That said, it kinda lacks soul. It's almost too sanitized. People don't seem to be going out of their way for the food, and the management seems to be content serving the stream of people coming from coaches. I don't blame them... it makes sense to pay the bills. I just kinda wish they were more of a destination for locals. read more

Great little pub in a convenient location right around the corner from Baker Street station. It's relatively small and doesn't offer room for larger groups, but we found a good spot for four people. Food is great at this place. I tried the mac and cheese and it was sublime! Places in London just don't seem to get American style mac and cheese right, but this one hits it perfectly! Super cheesy, no weird crumble topping, just cheese, cheese, cheese. Absolutely delicious. Other than that it's a pretty average pub atmosphere, has a traditional charm and is very welcoming. We enjoyed our visit a lot, would definitely go back! read more

a very old fashioned pub with lots of space/ TVs (if you are interested in sports) I ordered 'Mac & Cheese' - let me tell you this upfront - mostly I get disappointed when it comes to Mac & Cheese in the UK (used to American Mac & Cheese) BUT this pub nailed IT! One of the best Mac & Cheese dishes I had so far! very creamy and cheesy! I will definitely come back because the Burger on the other plate looked awesome too! can't wait to come back :) read more

This was an okay pub, a little better than some of the other that I had visited. A part of my does want to suggest that it was similar to a lot of other pubs that I have visited until I remembered that it does have a bit of a cricket theme about it. Then again that's not all that surprising considering that within walking distance from Lords (I believe - I've never been to Lords so I don't actually know how far away it is from this pub, or even from Baker Street). The staff were actually pretty friendly, and unlike a lot of other pubs that I visited, it wasn't hugely crowded. Mind you, it is a little bit of a walk from Marlyebone Station, but as far as I am aware it is the closed pub by a longshot (unless there is a pub inside Marlyebone Station, but I didn't hang around too long to have a look). read more

Well it seems we have found the Pub Kings of London. Greene King Pubs must have about a 100 Pubs all over London. And none are the same. All separate menus and styles. Allsop Arms is a seemingly a newer building. But had a great British flair. Food was great. Beer and ciders have been great in all their pubs. But the food was excellent. Butter Milk Fried Chicken was amazing by all standards. Clean place. Amazing staff. Stop in and have a pint and dinner. read more

Amazing bar!! I came here with Michael and had such a fun time :)) It's also located literally on the same block as my apartment so it's super convenient to visit. There are some tables with high chairs on the left which are further away from all the commotion if you want a quieter and more romantic vibe. I got a cider here which tasted great :) read more

Big, spacious, clean pub with attentive staff. I had a few drinks here, which were good but the food was a letdown. The roast tasted like hospital food, the burger platter was overall very bland. My fiance' and I spent a week in London and managed to frequent the Allsop Arms 2 or 3 times. We'd been in a couple other pubs, but the atmosphere in this one seemed to suit us best. It *is* a pub, so we weren't expecting the black tie service. The day we ordered food, it was 'order at the bar', which was fine for us. Staff was friendly, food was outstanding. I had the Beef Abbot Ale Pie which was absolutely delicious. My fiance' stole several forkfuls of the mashed potatoes that came with it and declared them to be the best mashed potatoes she's ever had. She wasn't as hungry and ordered a fish sandwich, which was very good also. Prices aren't bad at all, in comparison to some of the other area Marylebone spots. Between 8-9 pounds for a pair of large tap beers, my pie dinner was about 10 pounds and worth every penny. Our visit to the Allsop Arms made us want to return to the states and start our own English Pub. :D read more

Nice average pub in North West London tucked away near to Marylebone Road, ordered bar food and drink and arrived in good time, friendly bar staff plus lots of screens around the pub and especially today a large projector screen to show the Grand National, I'd pop back in there if in the area.... read more

This is a great pub in a very convenient location, right on the bus route out of London, and close to major train and underground stations. That makes it a great place to stop and have a beer with a friend on the way home from work, which is what I did. Since all I had was a beer, I can't say too much other than that the atmosphere was really great. Despite the bustle outside, it was calm and civilised inside. I'd certainly stop by again if in the area. read more

This bar is great to watch sporting events at as they have a TV and a pull down screen. I watched the Grand National at this pub was a great atmosphere. I had a pie here and the pastry was very tasty and flaky and the filling very meaty and rich. I loved the thick gravy that also came along with it. I did not eat my vegetables mind you as was not hot and not soft enough to my liking but other than that a great meal. My friends had a the Mac and Cheese and they said it was the best they have ever had I must admit it did look delicious and did make me think I wish I ordered that but then again I am on a diet so :shrug: My husband had a burger and looked and was according to him thick and juicy. Recommend this pub to anyone that is in the area especially if they want to watch sports etc happening on the big screen. read more

Nice roomy pub in the Marylebone neighborhood. We wandered in looking for dinner and a pint. They had 2 ciders on draught which is partially my reason for 4 stars. The food was also delivered quickly and the service was excellent and friendly. I only took one star away because while very good, it wasn't 5 star food. Reviews of this pub are all pretty old. The pub is okay. Not an amazing atmosphere..just a standard pub not far from a convenient tube station for a meet up with a friend or two ( no more cause there isn't the space for bigger groups). Slot machines and screen are now part of it together with a lot of decent deals. I had only one drink with a friend and at the end of it the waitress came to ask us if we wanted anything else since there were people waiting for tables. At that point we just left. I wouldn't suggest it. Try something different in the area. read more

A friendly, busy pub with a nice atmosphere and friendly service. Good choice of beers, also for real ale drinkers (London Pride, IPA & Abbot Ale). They also serve food but I have never eaten there. Yes, unfortunately sometimes the toilets are neglected. Very handy for those waiting for the buses/coaches to Luton and Stanstead Airport as the stop is right in front of the pub. read more

I ordered fish and chips of course and it was pretty good. I think it is better than some of the more tourist trap places. The staff was quick with their service and I suggest a couple of pints to finish your meal so you will be good to go. Prices are reasonable. read more

My food came 30 minutes after everyone else at my table. They said it was because they dropped the plate, though a burger doesn't take 30 mins to remake. They should have comped my meal, or at least provided a free appetizer while I waited. Service was awful. I would not go back! read more
