Steve is a true professional in the craft of auto repairs. He fixed my 2004 Ford f-150 engine after a complete overhaul and rebuild including changing the cam phasers, lifters, and cam. He was personable and explained that he had to add oil and not to trust the "oil life" notification set by the manufacturer. Overall, that was a good experience. But he's gone..... Nick did an oil change (late), told me car needed front brakes & tires. I scheduled an appointment. When I get there he says he must order tires THAT DAY and could be AM or PM when he gets them. He knew I was coming, make & model of car, etc. but was not prepared to do the work. I leave car. No phone call about estimate/status. Next day I call in AM; he is huffy & bothered because he is only one there and does oil changes 8 - 10. I call again later, he says car will be ready PM, he will call me. He calls at CLOSING TIME to tell me car is ready. I get there, he says absolutely nothing, holds out credit card machine, hands me my keys. So for scheduled work I waited 2 full days without any communication from him. Felt that at end he was jerking me around because I had to keep calling him about my car and he didn't like that.

He steadfastly will only work on Toyotas. He will only use genuine Toyota Parts. If you refuse to get a repair done that he feels would endanger you or the car, he'll suggest you go elsewhere for repairs. He will not fix anything that isn't broken. So you won't get socked with an unknown bill. His work ethic is extremely high and if he says you need to replace something, take it to the bank. I have complete confidence in his ability. By the way, in all that time I've never had to return the car after it was repaired because it didn't work. That says it all.

I'm not orginally from this area, so I needed somewhere dependable but not wallet-busting (like we all do). Dreading and fearing I'd have to take it to a dealership, Meineke, Pep Boys or some other type of place, I eventually found A&M Auto on-line and called them with my fingers crossed. Could I bring my car in the same day? Yes. Could it be fixed the same day? Probably, which turned into a Yes. Could I get a ride to/from home? Yes. Did they kill me with excess cost or recommendations for 'additional' services? No. Would I take my car back here? Absolutely! Whew.
