Warning. I am in a snarky mood. While it looks small and independent, this is a transplanted Kiwi company: http://au.allpressespresso.com That, however, doesn't bother me. I am not a chain-aphobe like some Shoreditch types. The space? Cool. Staff? Cool. Coffee? Really robust, excellent. Teeeny, tiny annoyances: 1) The coffee cups have no handle.... While I certainly like the look, my cup was too hot to hold for several minutes. Seems silly to have to wait to drink for that reason alone. Maybe I have baby hands that can't take the heat, but I wouldn't say I normally find things too hot to hold... 2) No wifi. Now, if this was a run down place decorated in doilies with a grandma and gramps at the helm, I'd say, find, they don't know any better. At a hip place like this, where they obviously are technologically savvy and not neo-Luddites (being in Shoreditch near all the startups, iMac in the office, their own iPhone app.... http://www.borndigital.co.nz/our-work/allpress-iphone/ ), it makes no sense if it isn't a deliberate choice. Either they are thinking, "we want people to enjoy real human interaction" or "contemplate our coffee's brilliance with their full attention" or "wifi makes people linger and we need all our seating available at all times" or really... those are the only two reasons I can come up with. Wifi, please. The sleek looking, but less than cozy seating will keep me from lingering too too long. When will cozy artisan coffee shops with plush, study-friendly seating and board games be trendy again? I miss that.

I think I'm too spoilt by the coffee shops in Vancouver ;) This for sure was a decent enough coffee, cool hipster part of town.... Large premises, so plenty of seats inside and out. But it would not be enough to lure me back here. Also took forever and a day to make 2 flat whites for take away, with no acknowledgement about the delay or wait. Not sure how successful this sort of place would be in Vancouver with such fierce competition.

Really like this place. They renovated in late 2015 and now it's a cute little spot with some outdoor seating. The iced latte and soy latte are very good. Service is also snappy, but the wait for your drink can be a few minutes when they're busy, which is almost always. The espresso roast here is just really good and I wish there was a location closer to my office. I mostly come here on weekends. Come here first, then walk around the shops on Redchurch.

A brunch of bread, cheese, cherry tomatoes, hard boiled egg, and half an avocado hiding under there! Also, tasty iced coffee.

Wow! I almost went into another cafe down the street, but the Yelp reviews were mediocre, and I'm very glad I checked out Allpress instead. I was just looking for a place to chill and have a refreshment in between Columbia Road Flower Market and Old Spitalfields Market, and this was perfect. The idea that it was Kiwi drew me to it even more, since I'm kind of in love with New Zealand. The open brightness and simplicity of the decor matches the Kiwi style. Service was quick, friendly, and efficient. I got a brunch of cherry tomatoes, avocado, cheese, hard-boiled egg, cheese, and toast, and it was all amazing. Half an avocado, tasty cheese and bread, and everything fresh and simple. The combination was perfect, and I was stuffed afterwards. They provide free newspapers and magazines to peruse, so I sat in the corner looking through the window at the massive coffee grinder in the next room, read about a few of the crazy things happening in the world, and was thoroughly entertained for a good while. Along with a glass of amazing iced coffee, I was re-energized and ready to head to another market! And, I may have been slightly excited when I saw Allpress featured in Time Out's list of best independent coffee shops the very next day. I JUST WENT THERE YESTERDAY.

Great coffee place on Redchurch street. This might actually be my new favourite place for coffee in London. Large airy interior with lots of wood, great coffee and amazing cakes and pastries. By entrance is an enormous coffee roasting machine to greet you and through the windows you can see the cooking going on in the kitchen. The staff are really cheerful and friendly. As an added bonus they also sell the coffee beans.

Chocolate residue, please don't add this or is it just me?

I like the vibe here, great people watching spot. I'll definitely come back to try some other coffees. I ordered a cappuccino that came covered in coco which to me shouldn't be on there but I have found that more coffeeshops are doing this. My cheese and chive sandwich was a bit to oily for my taste especially for a breakfast sandwich. Quite curious about the filter blend but I'll come back for that another day. Today the vibe was good but the coffee and sandwich not so much.

I was looking for a place to buy some beans on a Sunday and as Monmouth is closed and as I had heard Allpress had opened a roasting cafe in London I ended up here. It wasn't as easy to get to as I had hoped as I came from north London and walked from OldStreet (10min) but it was well worth the trip. Excellent coffee roasted on site and friendly staff. They had a variety of roasts to choose from. I've brought a 1/2 kg of beans to use at home and will most likely find myself back there again for a coffee and some more supplies in the near future. Let's hope more cafe's follow suit and bring the roasting closer to the counter.

It's also on the ever so cool Redchurch Street, is in a large and airy building and has both toilets and free water for patrons.

I am so disappointed that I have only just learned about this wonderful cafe!! I travel to London…read moreperiodically for work. On my last visit, a coworker told me about this little gem, which is not far from Lloyd's. It was a freezing cold day, I didn't have a coat, but I still went on the journey to Konditor & Cook. They have such a huge variety of cakes, brownies, and other sweet treats, along with coffees and other beverages. I got the lemon cake, which came highly recommended - it was amazing! I also had a hot chocolate (I don't drink coffee often), but my coworker had a latte and it looked good. This shop is now on my regular rotation in London...it's always a great day when you have cake for lunch!

I always stop into Konditor & Cook on the back of the Gherkin for a little treat when I'm craving…read moresome good homemade food. I know they are typically known for their cakes but the lunches here give you quick access to homemade classic dishes. I usually get the enchilladas, chili con carne, fish pie (super good!) or one of the daily quiches. The menu changes daily and there is rarely a time I don't find something to drool over. If you go I highly recommend the Boston Brownie, Raspberry Chequerboard Cake and the Millionaire Shortbread from the bakery. My only issue: Take the mushrooms out of the Mac n Cheese! Seriously, who puts mushrooms in mac n cheese???
