A lovely place to visit especially for girly lunches. The cafe is very popular, so can get quite busy, but the food is very nice, as is the atmosphere. It's best if you can get a table through in the back conservatory: more airy and comfy sofas.
The shop itself stocks a reasonable range of goods, including some lovely cakes, frozen (nice) loose veg and time-savers (like pastries) as well as having a butchers counter and a good green grocers. The food is priced at the top end of the market, but if you fancy yourself as a bit of a gourmet then you may not mind paying a bit extra.
Separate to the main building there is a mini garden centre probably not worth a trip to if you're after a garden centre as such, but it has some plants and a few sundries. The shop attached to this also has some lovely gift ideas and also sells fresh flowers.
The one draw back from my point of view is that I believe the cafe closes at 4.30, which has caught myself and friends out in the past. read more
