This is an addition to my earlier review. After deciding, I would not be returning to Allie's Walkabout, I begin investigating other options in the same area. I'd like to add that "Ruffin' It" a similar Doggie Day Care,/boarding/grooming facility in the same geographical area appears to be less expensive and also has a customer friendly policy where cancellations are accepted up to 11:59 PM the night before the pet is scheduled to arrive. At 4.5 stars they also have a higher rating than Allie's. I will be looking into Ruffin' It as a better alternative to Allie's. read more

The staff at Allie's Walkabout is super friendly and professional. They do a great job grooming our two dogs quickly and at a competitive price. The training they offer at Allie's is simply amazing! Our dogs have made leaps and bounds in regards to training in just a few weeks! While never having used their daycare or boarding services, from what we can tell, they do a great job at that too. The dogs in daycare always seem very happy and well behaved. They have the opportunity to stay inside or go outside when the weather is nice. The facility they have is very nice on the inside and right off of 71/75. They keep the place spotless and well maintained at all times. If you are looking for proof of this, just check out their Facebook page that they actively use to upload pictures of dogs at their facility. If you're looking for somewhere to board, train, or groom your dogs, look no further. Their service is undoubtedly the best in Greater Cincinnati! read more

Allie's seemed like a great solution for our temporary dog sitting needs. It was until our dog got KENNEL COUGH after only four days there (so probably got it jn day one plus incubation time). This is highly contagious and even though dogs that are vaccinated can get sick, I feel as though there should be some kind of notice to potential boarders that they have cases happening at their facility. The cost to the owners having to take their dogs to the vet and isolate them is only one aspect of WHY they should be TRANSPARENT here! Anyway, my dog had fun playing with the other dogs and all the staff seemed friendly. My dog's health and the health of the other dogs, however, should be in their interest! Can I give more than 5 stars? If I could it would go here. I've been using Allie's for years. I've never been more comfortable leaving my pups in someone else's hands. My favorite thing about this place is the transparency. Kennel tours, 24/7 staff, proper training for staff and video cameras to ensure your pup is being well cared for. Cleanliness is also a top priority. Drop off and pick up is a breeze. I love Allie's but mostly I love how comfortable I am leaving my dogs with them. My dogs love Allie's! read more

Trust Allie's to treat your canine babies like their own. Wouldn't take my two anywhere else. Brutus and Remi get excited when we pull into the drive. They can't wait to spend the day with their "buddies". We also use them for boarding when we are out of town and they are always as good as we left them when we pick them up. And if we are not scheduled for boarding or day care and we have an emergency, they accommodate the best they can with little or no notice. Best place around for your pups, no matter their size. I'm so happy to have found Allie's Walkabout! These are some genuinely kind people, or so it seems to me and Annie Oakley. I have always been treated very nicely when picking her up and dropping her off, even when I've been right on the closing time to pick her up. They have online booking which is super convenient and they've also taken my dog in on two last minute occasions, which I really appreciate. The staff and company also seem very honest with services - they told me they don't charge for brushing teeth because until you do it daily, it doesn't make a different in the pup's health. Way to save me $12 at a time, guys! Oh and they sell some toys and accessories are very reasonable prices! The thing I like most about Allie's Walkabout is that they have a nap time for the pups from 12 to 2 pm. This is vital in a puppy's life and I imagine for an older dog too, as everyone needs time to decompress. I've had Annie Oakley return from other daycares and she is bone tired, almost completely zonked. But coming from Allie's, Annie is definitely in need of some zzz's when she gets home, but can still show her personality the rest of the day. I have left my dog at Allie's multiple times... a few days here and there for work travel, full weeks for vacations, doggy daycare, grooming, etc. The staff at Allie's treats my dog like he is their own. They are always so nice at drop off, accommodating when I call to check in, and I'm not sure my dog actually wants to leave when I pick him up! I love that he gets to run and play and gets more socialized when he is here. I never stress about leaving my pup here. In fact since experiencing Allie's, I stress more about a house sitter watching him or sending him to a family member's when I travel. The dog groomers do a great job too. We took our one-year-old Golden Retriever to Allie's for training as a therapy dog. The staff is great and the facility is large allowing the dogs to play and move around during our training sessions. Additionally, we have taken both our Golden and Bernese Mountain dog to Allie's for grooming and Alison was awesome; she did a great job on both dogs and, more importantly, our dogs loved the experience. We highly recommend Allie's for both training and grooming. (We have not used the boarding services but, based on our experience, we feel confident in backing the other reviews regarding the daycare found on Yelp) read more

I do not recommend Allie's Walk About unless you want your dog to come home with kennel cough. My dog is fully vaccinated. She stayed with them over Memorial Day weekend and contracted Kennel Cough. When I told them about it they refuse to compensate a portion of her stay or medical bills. and said it was my dogs fault for having a week immune system. They called my dog a "Covid Dog" because I work from home and she stays with me. We had blood work and X-rays and the vet said she was fine except for the kennel cough. I spent a lot of money preparing for this trip and getting her fully vaccinated to accommodate their policy. I will not be going back to Allie's. read more

We have loved our experiences at Allie's so far. They offer wonderful grooming services as well as training that our dogs have benefited from greatly. They also offer daycare and boarding which a lot of people seem to be pleased with. They plan events for you and your dog to go out and hang out with other Allie's members which is a great way to get to know other dog lovers. Overall we have been extremely stratified! read more

We have been using Allie's Walkabout for both Doggy Daycare when needed and for boarding. We also use their grooming services about every 6 weeks for our mini poodle. We've never felt uncomfortable leaving him (he's our baby). And he doesn't mind going in to see everyone either. read more

My experience was excellent for a period. The father is money hungry. He needs educational classes on customer service. He will send you emails. In the closing he says; "God bless." He doesn't even attend church. In reality he's saying thank God, I can drive a Mercedes now. Other family members are wonderful. Please don't let the negative posts sway you as there are always two sides to a story. We bring our dog, Bruno, to Allie's for occasional daycare days, and for overnights when we're out of town. It's perfect for a young dog with a little extra energy, and he's always so excited to get in the door and play. I like the environment there - it's run by a family, and all the interactions via email, phone, and in person are very friendly. The facilities are always very clean, and they have indoor and outdoor play yards. They keep their play groups to a reasonable size, and the dogs are supervised, have plenty of water, and also have a break in the middle of the day so that they're not completely exhausted. Bruno comes home tired, but happy, and never seems stressed. Also, it's a little touch, but they put a few photos up on Facebook every day, and when I'm out of town it's nice to check in and see what my dog is up to. I also find their online reservation system very easy to use. Overall, I'm happy that we found a smaller pet boarding business that still provides excellent and very convenient care. read more

This place is more than ideal for dogs if you're looking for a great place to keep your dog over vacation. Not only did they provide updates when we called on our trip, but they even provided some basic behavioral training for free, as our dog tends to be a little naughty under stress and high energy. They provided recommendations for training as well at home. Prices are comparable to other kennels if you prefer to let your dog out at regular, or even more frequent intervals. No other kennel will provide as much positive stimulation for the same price. I wouldn't prefer to take my dog anywhere else, honestly. read more

Absolutley wonderful!! My husband and I dropped off our jack russel mutt Zoey for Memorial day weekend since we would be out of town. Zoey is a very high energy dog and since we dont have a fenced in back yard it is really hard to tire her out. When we got her back she was pooped! They said she had a great time playing with all the other dogs which really took it out of her. They schedule everything there very well so she had ample amount of play time. This is the best place for dog sitting, either daycare or overnight. My dogs love it there and they are beyond spoiled. Even the 65lb lap dog is happy at Allie's. We love Allie's Walkabout! Our dog has been attending Allie's for almost 3 years and we could not recommend them enough. She attends daycare on a weekly basis and boarding a few times per year. I am confident in the care Allie's provides. They are extremely clean, organized, professional and loving. All dogs are temperament tested to ensure personalities and the off leash style of care will work for all parties. Any issues or concerns are always handled in a professional and timely manner. Our dog comes home happy and tired but not to the point of over exhaustion! If you are looking for a facility that will not only take excellent care of your dog but also treat them as a family member, Allie's is a great choice! I took my two dogs for the first and only time a few months ago. The grooming was just so-so especially for the high price $220 including tip for two small dogs is outrageous. Typically any other place has been around $60 a dog. That wasn't the most upsetting part. I was told one of my dogs had worms and fleas. At this time I hadn't had him long. Yes he did have a few fleas the other has been on oral flea meds for a while. Allie had me in a panic telling me all of my other dogs at home have to have fleas and worms. She also told me any humans in the home would have worms too. After an unnecessary paid trip to the vet no worms at all. None of my dogs had fleas or worms. No humans had worms. No one was ever treated and here we all are months later still flea and worm free. I felt like I was being scammed just like a shady mechanic will try to convince you things need repairs when they really don't. It's a nice place and close to home. I planned for this to be our new groomer but I was disappointed. read more

Do not ever take your pet here! First off the business is ran by a little girl. Second they lost my dog! They allowed my 3lb puppy to go outside at night without supervision and he ran away. The worst part was they never bothered to call and tell me it had happened. I had to find out from my boyfriend who went to pick my dog up and he was not there. The only thing they did to look for him was put an ad on craigslist and post 3 posters. They did not look hard because my friend found him a street away. When my friend went back to their house to get my dogs stuff they didn't give her half his things and gave me the wrong food back, which makes me question if he had been eating the wrong food the whole time I was out of town. Do yourself a favor and never go to this awful place. I got lucky and my dog was found safely but you might not be! read more

If you read through these reviews, you will see that whenever there is an issue with someones pet they fail to notify the owners, which is exactly what happened to Nikko. Another dog attacked him and instead of them calling, they tried to hide it until they were confronted with it. $500 vet bill later and they REFUSE to pay. They also delete every bad post someone leaves on their facebook page and block the person that writes it... very unethical business. read more

Our dog came for her evaluation. I got a bad feeling when I asked to see where the dogs are kept, and I was met with a hesitant resistance. I asked if I could just 'peek in' and they barely let me see inside the door. I thought this was weird...I'd like to see where my dog will live for the next week. I can understand not allowing to stir up the other animals, but it seemed they were all outside. Our dog has been to groomers and other pet sitters with no problems at all! She's nervous at first, but a complete sweetheart! I told the staff repeatedly she was abused in the past, and does not do well on leash or aggressive leads. No matter how many times I tired to nicely explain, the staff still dragged my dog to the back room by her neck/leash....EVEN WHILE I WAS ASKING THEM NOT TO AS IT WAS HAPPENING! They just told me to get on the other side of the gate and she would be better...they wouldn't listen. That's not how my dog works. You have to walk in WITH HER....CALM. They thought they knew best, but they were 100% making matters WORSE! She pooped on her way, and they made a rude comment about it...what do you expect? You're scaring her! Animals feed off energy, and the woman's energy was the exact opposite of what it should have been. We weren't feeling completely confident leaving her for the night, but the lady assured us she would be okay. They told us to pick her up at 9am the next morning. We didn't hear anything for the rest of the night. My husband arrived the next morning only to find out that he couldn't pick up our dog until 3pm. At 3pm we came back to find out that our dog 'DID NOT DO WELL'. Our dog spent 24 HOURS on a concrete floor in a wire cage! THANK GOD WE BROUGHT A BLANKET FOR HER! She was backed in the corner, too scared to come out of the cage, eat, drink and I was told five different staff tired to get her out, but our dog refused....what they heck do you expect?! SHE ALSO HAS A NICE BRIGHT PINK SCAR FROM A GASH ON THE TOP OF HER NOSE...THAT NOBODY CARED TO MENTION! THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT THIS WAS BLEEDING AT ONE POINT!! NO EXPLANATION expect...she probably scratched her nose in the cage....YA THINK?! They even made a snarky comment about our dog trying to nip a worker...do they even know how to work with animals? Our toddler daughter has body-slammed the dog while playing, and the dog just licks her to ask her to stop. It sounded to me like they were just making matters worse and worse. I can only imagine what was going on while we were at home thinking everything was okay. It makes my stomach sick! I explained to the girl what had happened when we dropped off our dog...she made excuses...bad excuses. THERE IS NO EXCUSE! Our dog took a good week to recover. All of the training we did when we first recused her was reversed! She was the scared, abused dog we once knew. My immediate question for them...WHY DIDN'T ANYONE CALL US? OR WHY DIDN'T THEY LET MY HUSBAND TAKE HER HOME AT 9AM AND NOT LET HER SIT SCARED AND DEPRESSED! THAT IS ABUSE!!!! You wouldn't do that to a child...why a dog?! They told us they like to keep the dogs overnight in hopes they do better in the morning. Last time I checked, 9am WAS the morning. I would also like to believe that a simple call to the owner of Allie's to allow us to take our dog home...first because we got up and drove to get her at 9a on a Saturday...and also because she was obviously not doing so well....she should come home! BEST PART -- THEY TOLD US THEY OFFERED DOG TRAINING SERVICES TO HELP OUR DOG WITH HER FEAR....ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!???? I WOULD NEVER TRUST YOUR STAFF WITH MY DOG AGAIN! Then the girl told me 'I'm not going to charge you for this since you're unhappy..." LIKE I WOULD EVEN GIVE YOU A CENT! I was heart-broken and furious when I saw my dog ALONE in a concrete room with wire cages; PRESSED UP TO THE BACK CORNER OF HER CAGE IN HIDING. It broke my heart! This action DOES NOT show me that you care for my animal! Her well-being was NOT first-priority! This experience was HORRIBLE and VERY UPSETTING for our entire family. I heard about Allie's Walkabout before, but after trying it for myself...it's more of a warehouse than a comfortable 'home away from home'. The seemed like they were over-booked and under-staffed. I'm sure some dogs do well there, but our experience was NOT ANYTHING like we were lead to believe! read more

We have a Cairn Terrier (Macy) that has stayed at Allie's Walkabout several times for as long as a week at a time. We love how the whole family takes part in loving and caring for the dogs, but Allie is the main person responsible for the animals. She is so good to them, and Macy loves to go there. She even recognizes where she is going and jumps out of the car and runs to the house. I give Allie's Walkabout 5 Stars for taking such great care of our dog. A friend left her dog here and the dog was attacked but NOT notified and they found the injury the next day. If they'd been notified by the people @ Allie's, they could have taken their dog to the vet the night it happened & gotten antibiotics right away. Now Allie's is refusing to pay the vet bills & will only offer credit for future boarding. Who would want to leave their dog here again after this type of treatment?!? I reviewed on FB and Allie's had the nerve to tell me that I only had "one side" of the story...don't know how they can even TRY to spin this in a positive way. SHAME ON THEM!! read more

This is the best, most convenient place for my dogs. I will never take them anywhere else. First, they take top notch care of my two furry family members. And, they don't nickle and dime you to death. One of my dogs has a special diet for health issues. No problem and no extra charge for feeding it to her. I used to use Pet Suites and everytime I asked for something beyond the "stick your dog in an indoor kennel and stick him outside twice a day on cement", it was another charge. My dogs' vacation cost more than mine. And one of my dogs lost all his housetraining while there. But at Allie's they keep your dog in their home. They play with them outside (in grass) and the dog feels like he's in a home so they don't forget where to go to the bathroom. Take your own food, your dog's bed, medications are no problem. All is handled professionally and very personally. Dogs get into trouble, whether they are home or elsewhere. I know that Allie and her family will be treating my dogs like I do and they will have the best of care while I'm away. read more

We've used Allies for a few years now and are very happy with the service. Allie is great and her family is wonderful. In the beginning I will say it was nice taking our Sawyer to a home rather than a business and feeling like she was played with and snuggled as we would, but I honestly don't feel like much has changed since they've moved to the commercial building. Our dog returned in such horrible condition after a 5 day stay. He lost 3 lbs, you can feel the bones in his back, it was 30% of his total body weight. Not only was he skinny and weak, he was filthy, exhausted, and ravenous upon his return. His fur was caked in pee and vomit or "something". I also wanted to use a coupon I received, but they refused to honor the coupon to top it all off! The owner was suppose to call us back to explain why our dog returned in such a sad state, however we have heard nothing. I can't believe I paid $190 to have our dog abused. If you love your dog take them elsewhere. read more
