I absolutely loved working with the team and my coach at Allie Stark Wellness. My coach, Sarah, was amazing. She reflected so much back to me in our conversations and in the written communications between our sessions, which was incredibly helpful to me. She was so present in our work. She helped me clarify a few, big parts of my world that I have not noticed/seen as clearly previously and helped me redefine really crucial pieces of my life (beyond just my professional world!) during our work together. As she got more insight into me, my goals, my values, and where I am/where I might want to go, so did I. I feel like we altered some major lenses through which I view my world. She helped me appreciate and realize, very authentically, the work that I have done and am doing right now, which helped me feel like I am indeed moving forward, even when I'm feeling stuck. I felt comfortable being vulnerable, sad, happy, and everything in between with her. I feel like I am still chewing on so much of the work we did together and like Sarah set me up with tangible work and things I can do as my professional and personal life continue to unfold, but also helped me trust the very-not-tangible, broader process that is taking place. Thanks for an amazing coaching experience! read more

Team Allie, all the way. When deciding to get coaching, I was looking for someone who could be my thought and accountability partner -- someone who was direct and stern, yet compassionate and nonjudgmental, and Allie was exactly that and more. Working with Allie for the past 6 months has shifted me in a way I could have never imagined. relationship I went in thinking I wanted to work on building a meaningful career path, but as time went on, Allie helped me discover was that there were many layers deep down that we needed to dig deeper into for me to create lasting change. Allie held my doubts of her (because of a unfruitful coaching experience prior) and push-back on how to use our sessions with ease and skill and brought to the table multiple learning and coaching styles and homework exercises that were well-rounded, incredibly effective and brilliant. Each and every session were unique. Depending on what was coming up for me, Allie would come up with a "game plan" on the spot to work me through my thoughts, concerns, excitement, trauma, hurt, etc. I felt loved and taken care of and never judged for my decisions or how I showed up in our session, which all have me space to trust and grow exponentially in our time together. I saw how I was breaking down habits and rules that were no longer/ serving me-- something I wouldn't have been able to do on my own, or possibly in such a meaningful, powerful way with anyone else. All in all, I recommend Allie wholeheartedly as a coach and encourage you to at least see what she's about via her website and podcast, whether you are thinking of a working with a coach or not. She's funny and brilliant to work and talk with and someone you want on your team. Incredibly grateful our paths crossed -- thank you Allie read more

I was blessed to have Allie as a coach during a challenging life transition. Her confidence in my ability to reach my goals, along with her many coaching skills aided in my move and career transition. She is authentic and brave, and she really cares about helping her clients get unstuck. I was also very lucky to get to work with Lela. Lela walked with me through many twists and turns on my journey. She is a deep listener, and she was able to understand my emotional reality in a comprehensive way. I felt supported, understood and encouraged throughout my time with her. I can highly recommend Allie and Lela as a coach. read more

Incredible business, Allie and her team are true coaches with a proven approach to working with all walks of clients.

Long Version: I was lucky enough to be referred to Allie during a period of my life when I was going through major changes. Divorce, departing a religion and community I was associated with my entire life, and embarking on an unexpected new relationship that included me coming out to my friends and family. Basically I'd blown the doors off my life. I needed an "everything" coach that could be gentle and compassionate but also firm and honest. I can tell this woman anything, she creates space for all of it and doesn't miss a thing. I'm so grateful to have such a gifted professional like Allie to help me navigate through this dismantling and rebuilding of my life in the healthiest way possible. I'm confident I would be surviving it all, but with Allie's help, I've been able to thrive through it too. Short version: She's kind of like if your BFF was a whip-smart, truth-seeking, kind, funny, intuitive, impartial, blunt asf yoga teacher who gives you soul searching homework to help you figure out your shit, and also throws in vitamin recs. And takes Venmo. read more

I can't say enough amazing things about my time working with Allie Stark Wellness Group. I was referred to Allie originally to see if I wanted to start my own business but found that I needed 1-1 support after all. Allie's intake process was succinct and allowed her to refer me to Karen Banting who was phenomenal to work with. Karen has an incredible way of working with you in the way that she is sensitive to your needs and always pushes you to dig a little bit deeper, knowing that it will benefit you in the long term. I trusted her in every step of the process, even if it felt uncomfortable at the time. Before working with Karen, I was unhappy in my job, discontent in my living situation, and unsure about some of my relationships. After my sessions with Karen, I pushed myself to find a new job that I'm so happy to be at, I am moving to a new location where I'm so happy, and I am more secure in my relationships and know how to move forward to ensure that I'm putting myself first. Karen has been a confidant and coach every step of the way and I couldn't be more elated that I worked with her. I highly recommend Karen and the team at Allie Stark if you are feeling anywhere from stuck, unmotivated, lost, and everything in between! Thank you to the entire team! read more

I've been seeing Allie for almost three years now and can't say enough wonderful things about her! She's been an unstoppable force for good in my life and her coaching has helped me navigate innumerable milestones-from career changes, to breakups, to family, and even general struggles with anxiety. With absolute certainty, I can say that I would not be where I am without her. Thank you, Allie! read more

I first came to Allie right after finishing chemotherapy early last year. I was 33, engaged, had a good job... but felt like I had no idea who I was. Surviving something like that is incredible, but I was a shell of my former self and didn't know how to start rebuilding. Was I still a triathlete? Did I like my career? Was a still a "go getter" or was I going to just be tired forever? Do I still like my friends. Allie has a podcast, Gutted. (Everyone should listed to it.) It's about reclaiming your instinct. It launched shortly after I started seeing her. I listened to the first one and thought, "RE claim my instinct? I don't know who I am, let alone what my instincts are." A couple of months ago, I was listening to another episode of her podcast, and listening to that same intro about reclaiming your instinct, when I realized, "I know who I am." And the terms and language I use to define who I am are completely different that they've ever been before. I'm no longer shackled my defining myself as the things I've done, or my occupation, or even what I'm passionate about. I am loving, kind, and compassionate. What I do with that is my choice, and whether I wake up on Saturday and go for a long run or stay in bed and read a good book doesn't have any effect on who I actually am as a person. It took several months of working with her to get to this realization, and I still have a lot of things I'd like her guidance on. She's a great, ACTIVE listener. She responds, acknowledges, and lets me know I'm heard. She's also called me out a couple times when I've been a little irrational (my words, not hers!), which I valued so much. I trust her deeply and am so grateful I found her. Maybe my story isn't helpful because you already have a strong sense of who you are. But if you're looking at this Yelp page and still reading my particular review, I imagine that you might be looking for some support and guidance for something. That's what Allie gave me. That's what she can give you, too. Go see her :) She is so much goodness wrapped up in a wonderful human being. read more

I chose Allie because of her expertise in coaching and passion for health. When I interviewed her, I was looking for someone who had the ability to be a cheer leader when they needed to be but also had the ability to push me out of my comfort zone when necessary. That is exactly what I got! Allie is a rock star. She is an excellent listener, takes coaching at the pace you want her to go and provides great activities to help you achieve your goals. There is much more self-care and fun in my life as a result of our sessions! read more

I started working with Allie a few months after I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. After a lifetime of overachieving and pushing myself beyond my limits, I wanted to make peace with my body, work within its constraints, and just generally feel a little better. In true overachiever fashion, I came to Allie with a giant list of everything I was already doing--therapy, acupuncture, strength training, eliminating gluten and dairy from my diet, changing jobs, changing the way I commute. I'd exhausted what I could think of on my own, but I still felt like I was dragging myself through every day and had hope that things could be different. Allie supported me in finding and communicating with a healthcare provider who gave me a lot more clarity about the support my body needed. I was able to go from being in bed sick for several days every month to not needing a sick day for six months. Allie also helped me dig deeper and uncover a big shift that needed to happen. I needed to leave the Bay Area and make home in an environment that was more supportive of the gentler way I wanted and needed to live. On the other side of that big move, I can say that it's one of the best decisions I've made. As a coach myself, I've learned so much from Allie and would recommend her highly. Her potent mix of intuition, candor, and compassion allows her to help you move mountains in your life. read more

Kayla as been an incredible mentor and supporter throughout my time with her! I had been getting Allie's emails and newsletter for over a year before I decided to invest more in myself and work with one of her wellness coaches. I feel like in the months Kayla and I worked together we made a lot of progress in terms of getting to the root of fear and anxiety behind make big professional leaps that I was aiming for. She kept me accountable and helped me ask myself and people close to me some difficult questions but ultimately helped unblock barriers. I would love to come back to these wonderful ladies after I try some on there resources on my own for a bit a see the traction I make with all the work we did together. read more

Allie changed my life. When we first connected, I was struggling with a mysterious digestive issue that has shrunk my life to the point where I was mainly heating up frozen macaroni and cheese for dinner every night. Bland felt safe and safe felt important. But I knew bland was no way to live. Less than a year later, everything had changed: my digestive issues were fading, I was working with a nutritionist/personal chef Allie had referred me to, I'd moved to a new neighborhood where I felt more peace surrounded by nature, I'd started acupuncture, and I'd even gotten pregnant--a long-term goal of mine. By integrating powerful coaching, authentic storytelling, a deep well of knowledge to inform solid hunches, and a wide network of world-class providers in the Bay Area to turn to, Allie made all the difference in my life. She helped me identify the root causes holding me back, build a team of providers to work with and through those root causes, and follow my gut to wellness beyond my fondest dreams. Some turning points Allie made possible: - On one of our first calls, I mentioned that garlic seemed to be a factor in my digestive issues, but that when I'd brought that up with my primary care provider, the doctor had suggested that I just avoid garlic. Allie paused to acknowledge how hard it must have been to receive such a blunt response to something I'd been struggling with, then connected the dots to a diet she'd heard of--the low-FODMAP diet--that involved eliminating garlic, among many other ingredients. She suggested I find a naturopath and even outlined the specific test to ask for. I ended up testing positive for Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth, which responds well to medication plus strict adherence to the low-FODMAP diet for a period of time. Allie was able to point me in the direction of a diagnosis that ended up being exactly right, just by connecting the dots within her deep well of knowledge. - Once I planned to go on the low-FODMAP diet, I faced another challenge: I didn't cook! This felt insurmountable, but I kept beating myself up for not just making the time to cook. Allie pointed out that the low-FODMAP diet was so restrictive that even people who are comfortable in the kitchen would benefit from extra support where financially feasible, since it essentially made eating out impossible for a multi-month window. This significantly reduced my embarrassment at not just "sucking it up," and helped me open up to accepting a referral Allie made to someone in her network--a nutritionist/personal chef who helped me embrace and stick to the diet for long enough to see it work. - While discussing how I felt my life had shrunk in tandem with my digestive issues, Allie suggested a challenge: to step out of my apartment building, pick a destination, and try to find my way there without constantly checking a map. I felt myself tense up at the suggestion, shared that with Allie, and then we worked through it together: turns out I didn't feel at all safe in my neighborhood, and couldn't think of a single direction I could walk in where I would feel safe. This conversation gave me the clarity that I had to move, and completely changed where I was looking; by discussing places where I had felt safe, Allie and I zeroed in on the presence of plants, parks, and peaceful quiet as key ingredients. I now live in a place set back from the street, with a beautiful garden, just blocks away from a park. To borrow some words from Allie's incredible podcast, Gutted--she helped me reclaim my instinct and find my way back home. I couldn't have found my way back home without building a team, and I couldn't have built a team without trusting that I knew my own needs and didn't need to "just get over" whatever seemed to be holding me back. Allie created space for me to trust myself and connected me with the resources and providers I needed to act on that trust. I hold her integrative approach and her unparalleled intuition in the highest regard. read more

Allie has profoundly helped me. In terms of self-confidence, tools for dealing with my own internal monologue and tools for dealing with others as well. It is rare to find a coach like Shawn. She is wise beyond her years, yet her spirit is youthful and unjaded. She is warm and funny, direct when it's needed--but she is never judgemental. I did not have a very good experience with Allie. During my coaching with her, she made me buy a book, although she knew I was broke poor. Plus, if you are doing a weekly session, her email system will remind you to make the payment OVER and OVER again. That left me with an ugly truth, that she is really all about making money and not for the wellbeing of her patients. SHE IS A WASTE OF TIME. DO NOT USE HER SERVICE. read more

I have high standards. Some may say unrealistic. Allie has exceeded them. #truth. I have had the pleasure of working with Allie in a number of different ways - from coach to facilitator to collaborator and now friend. Allie has and fortunately for us (since she can't be in 10 places at once) a talent for finding and choosing smart people with big hearts to surround herself with and share her proven and effective style of helping us achieve our best self. What I love about the Stark "brand" is how the self 'work' they inspire us to do never feels like actual work - instead it feels playful, tender, inspiring, easeful and satisfying. I truly can not recommend enough. read more

I started working with Allie last year after being a regular attendee of her hatha yoga class. She is an excellent teacher, and I have always appreciated how she weaves personal stories of mindfulness into her class to help her students create a connection between mindfulness and movement. So, when she offered a free 20-minute wellness consultation, I didn't hesitate to sign up! Given Allie's ability to connect with the students in her yoga class, it didn't surprise me how well she is able to connect during our one-on-one wellness coaching sessions. She is an excellent listener and has a great capacity to remember where I currently am on my path to wellness and where I want to go. She is full of practical advice and suggestions whether I want to improve my knowledge about health and nutrition, create a sustainable movement practice, or get a new perspective on any number of life issues that tend to show up repeatedly in my life. She is truly invested in my wellness goals, which makes me feel more invested in my own goals too. Allie is a wise, warm, thoughtful, compassionate, and loving person who I thoroughly enjoy being around. I learn so much from our sessions and always leave feeling inspired and wanting more time with her! Where do I even begin?! Allie is incredible and truly helped me turn my life around in every positive way imaginable. She helped me reclaim my confidence, my creativity, and my self-love through not only talk therapy, but through exercises or better described as "soul homework", recommended books, and her gift of intuition. I am a very spiritual/connective type of person and Allie is the first therapist I have had that I related to on every level. I felt at home with her in more ways than one, but it was a breath of fresh air to find someone who spoke a similar language to me and accepted me for who I am. Allie is full of wisdom, compassion, and understanding. After I would go on rants basically spewing my chaos onto her (like splattering paint onto a canvas), she would somehow make a beautiful painting out of my "messy paint" every time. Her thoughtful responses were always exactly what I needed to hear. I cannot recommend her enough to anyone seeking to confidently stand back up on their own two feet, because that is exactly what she helped me do. I came into her coaching having no confidence in following my intuition, to leaving being so beyond tapped into my intuition. I used to be incredibly indecisive and insecure about decisions, and now I am so in tune with my personal guidance system, thanks to Allie :) read more

Working with Allie has truly been life changing (in the least cliche way possible). Between working with her in both couples pre-martial coaching and personal growth areas, Allie prepared us to confidently enter into the next phase of life in both marriage and career shift. She coupled listening, asking probing questions to always go a level deeper, with thoughtful homework assignments that encouraged tough conversations and empowered new action. Allie is exceptional and would recommended her a thousand times over to anyone looking for a coach. read more

In my position as Events Coordinator at Zendesk, I have the pleasure of working with many individuals who visit the office to present lectures, host workshops, facilitate meetings, etc. I first met Allie last fall when she presented an on-site Mindfulness Workshop to our internal staff. She was professional, highly organized, thoughtful in her approach, and just down right fun. After that session, she was genuinely interested in participant feedback and worked with our staff Wellness Committee to develop a series of workshops for 2017. In presenting the first workshop of the year, "How to Hack your Health," I saw yet another example of Allie's approach to on-site corporate talks. As a participant, I was able to personally experience her ability to strike that perfect balance between lecture and workshop. Her presentation was creative, engaging and easy to follow, while break-out sessions allowed for even more in-depth reflection on workshop topics and prompts. Allie presented antidotes that helped participants feel more comfortable opening up and sharing with the group, and ended the session with a creative tool to keep our goals at the forefront of our minds throughout the year. If your office or company is looking to hire a wellness professional for an onsite talk or health series, I would highly recommend reaching out to Allie. She is knowledgable, yet humble, very easy to work with and has a genuine heart of gold. We're lucky to have found her and you will be too. read more

I cannot say enough good things to do Allie justice. She has truly changed my life and that of my family. On the "hard skills" wellness side of things, with Allie's help I have taken control of my physical health, lost substantial weight following the births of two kids, sleuthed out the cause of some ambiguous health issues (turns out a well-functioning thyroid is important) and improved my attitude and outlook substantially. But this is mostly due to Allie's skills as a coach, therapist, and warm / non-judgmental sounding board. Allie has empowered me to better my OWN life. She has helped to guide me and my husband to real and achievable life and wellness goals and acted as a launching pad for us to engage with additional care providers when it is warranted. I am continuously impressed by how old her soul is and how wise her words are. My family is lucky to have found Allie Stark! read more

I first reached out to Allie a couple of years ago. My partner was taking studio yoga classes from her and spotted her as a real healer with a huge loving heart, and he was right! Her compassion and wisdom run so deep, I always learn so much from her and feel so uplifted after our time together. She is really able to get into those hidden places and unpack what's there with such an incredible combination of strength and gentleness. I always feel so safe and so powerfully held with her. Her beautiful and loving acceptance also allows me to feel safe going deeper into my wounds. I can't say enough about how helpful Allie has been to me. Lela is a special, gentle soul. She is intuitive and observant. She makes you feel seen and heard, and you can feel deeply that she supports you and has your best interests at heart, even if you have not yet realized what is best for you. She offers these valuable insights without judgement, and offers them because she genuinely wants to see you thrive and be great. Lela is so grounded when she is listening to me and holding up mirrors to me, and is incredibly skilled at guiding me toward powerful self-realizations. She doesn't tell me what to do, but helps me see for myself. It is so powerful that she recognizes the power of instilling agency in her clients. She catalyzes your ability to see and confront your truth more clearly and empowers you to do something about it! I will always be grateful for her incredible role in my life over the past few years: she noticed that I was a highly sensitive person and offered resources so that this new self-awareness could allow me to bring more well being into my life. She is crucial to my latest career change, which is so exciting! I have left behind an "old me," and truly feel like a new person who is more in touch with her authentic goals and purpose and who is feeling more confident than ever in acting on those goals. She helped me notice the impact of the toxic professional environments I was in, reminded me of my agency and options to pivot, patiently supported me while I continued to be complicit in my own suffering, and empowered me with developing my self-respect and self-love so that I had the courage and motivation to finally do the right thing. Allie is a superstar. She's smart, perceptive, creative, organized, diligent and practical. I went to Allie as an adjunct to my visits with Laura Figoski (the naturopath with whom she shares office space). I'm 56 and have been dealing with adrenal fatigue, menopause, hypothyroidism and ending a 14-year business partnership. My initial plan was to see Allie for nutritional advice, though her counseling addressed every aspect of my life and that was far more valuable. Interestingly, I had been seeing a therapist whom I had partly chosen because he was older (and I assumed wiser). Allie was far more insightful and well worth every penny and every minute I spent with her. If there were 6 stars, I'd click them all! read more

Allie is an amazing coach and counselor. When you talk with her, you know you're being heard and understood, a pretty rare find in the world today. She has the ability to tackle a ton of topics related to well-being and has a very well-rounded practice. Allie was so, so helpful in teaching me tools around communication, which have been super instrumental in improving my relationships with my partner, my friends, and my family, as well as helping me process my past and assess my strengths to get some clarity on how to move forward. Life-coaching is different from therapy/counseling in that it is goal-driven and has a (flexible) end-date, and I found I really liked the directive push I got from these sessions. Supportive, non-judgmental, compassionate, genuine, goofy, Allie's a great person to have on your team. read more

I wasn't exactly sure what to expect working with a health coach. As a nurse practitioner myself I felt I already held a lot of knowledge and wisdom regarding my health and well-being aspirations. But knowing something and being able to actualize something into action are two completely different things. I first sought out Allie in a time of transition (which wouldn't ya know seems to be an on going affair) when I was struggling with my own self-care and prioritizing others needs before my own. Allie was a life saver! She helped me help myself by supporting me in reprioritizing my needs, shifting my guilt and shame around this, and helped me take the necessary but difficult baby steps into making the needed changes until I was able to embody the changes more fully.
