We spent about two hours working on both my resume and LinkedIn. We discussed what my goals were and what I hoped to do with my current objectives. Bob complimented my resume saying it's one of the better ones he has seen in a long time and we worked on minor fixes, including grammatical errors and semantics. Bob seemed very knowledgeable as far as what employers like to see and what brings their attention. He explained to me from the use of fonts, bullets, indentation, and arranging content in a certain way. Any questions I had, he answered to the best of his understanding. He was very easy to work with and I trust in his expertise. While I am currently not searching for employment, I am optimistic that with the help of Bob, I should be able to get my foot in the door for an interview should I so desire in the future. I barely joined linked in and had the basics on my profile. I gave him access to my page and he pumped it up more than I even knew you could. Its now more visible to recruiters and I can apply easily to job posting I see on LinkdIn. He made me more comfortable and less stressed out about my job hunting. I applied for jobs very casually and yes I was very picky about what I applied for. In about a month and a half I interviewed and was hired on the spot at a local company that was the perfect fit. My new company made a comment to me that they hated how my resume didn't include the actual time span for my employment history. I was forced to regurgitate from memory for them. The woman who called me for the interview was the company recruiter and she said that I should always list the dates, recruiters want to actually see it so they don't have to ask. That was the only bit of advice that seemed to be contradictory to what Bob told me.
