Been chasing…read morean issue with my vehicle starting for about a month now and finally had it down to the starter, which I can't replace myself (tools). Spoke to David's and they said they would replace the starter I had (O'Reilly's) but they wouldn't warranty the part. Expected and okay. Dropped the vehicle off about 9am. Given a quote for $231 for inspection, diagnostics and testing. Was told that it would be applied to any repairs. Was verbally quoted by Rich that the starter replacement may add a "couple of bucks" but would be close to the $231 and that the testing/diagnostic charge would apply. Was told it would be done by noon. At 12:30pm called to get a status, still in work. At 12:45pm I get an automated inspection report. At 1pm I call back to see if the starter had been replaced. Nope. Quote $760 for replacement using my part and $1050 to use theirs. Asked about the 300% increase from the initial price and after being put on hold for a while was told that the best they could do was $463. DOUBLE the original quote! Was also told that they "hoped" to get it done today. "Hope" is a little dubious after doubling/tripling a quote for no reason. They also made very clear that absolutely no warranty was included - including installation. When I asked if the starter fell off because they forgot to torque the bolts, "Nope, we wouldn't cover that. But we do things right around here." At 5pm I called to see if it was actually completed and it had been done but no one had decided to let me know. Overall, just a bunch of over promises, under delivery and dishonesty! Look elsewhere!

My vehicle had been returned to me with no transmission fluid and five quarts of oil poured in on top of the existing oil. He could have easily taken advantage of the situation or exaggerated the damage, but he didn't. He was completely honest and straightforward, and he explained everything clearly. The Kwik Kar district manager even thanked Hunter personally for being truthful about the car not being damaged. That says a lot about the kind of shop this is. Ultimate Car Care has also done excellent work for me recently -- they replaced the spark plugs and coils on my Forester, and the car has been running perfectly ever since. Unfortunately, the original problem was never resolved, and the vehicle ultimately became unusable. After unsuccessful attempts to resolve the issue, I took them to small claims court and won. They paid the judgment in full, but I was still left with an unusable vehicle and additional repair expenses that were not covered. My advice: Always get a second opinion before committing to major repairs, and keep detailed records of everything.

I thought since they have Christian messages on their marquee that maybe I could get some help, I guessed wrong. I know I will have to pay for repairs, parts and labor and know those costs are going to be high already, but paying $155 on top of that for an OBDII scan is a scam. Next thing you know, they'll charge you $200.00 because they had to use a torque wrench.
