We are still unclear why we needed our septic pumped 2x within 2 years and were quoted $3-4k each time as they did not send us the detailed breakdown of the requested work. We had a suspicion that the folks they use for maintenance and for other repairs were financially incentivized or tied to the company as we did not receive multiple bids and it looked like SJA had ties to the company doing the work. Shout out to Kayla Schwartz who never answered any of my emails until I cc'd Claudette Scott. They did not seem to fully do walk throughs and left our property and wood floors covered in dog pee pads during the walk through. We requested that they not allow tenants to use our fireplace and found they had left that in the listing so we were legally obligated to allow it. Neat. If you want to lose significant amounts of value and gain 0 value except for a huge headache, SJA is the property management firm for you!

As a background, my uncle received an email from Michael wanting to business with us in the area. Mind you my uncle lives in another state so I was just the middleman. We are in the market for a multi family unit and I had scheduled a time to meet Michael. The evening before our appointment, I noticed that the property was listed as a single family home so I texted him to confirm. He stated that there is vacancy on one part and a tenant in the lower. That's nice, but we wanted a multi family home? Oh, we can check when we get there, he says. Ideally I knew I was wasting my time because in order to have a tenant on the property of a single family home, you need to also reside in the property which was not our plan; but I confirmed anyways to meet with him the following day just to confirm if the home had 1 or 2 meters (it had 1). The meeting was for 3pm and I chose to leave work early to meet with him as arrived early, but at 2:40 he texts me and says he "ran into some Bellevue traffic and GPS puts me there at 3:15." The property is in federal way... If you live or work in the Seattle/Bellevue area, you should know that traffic is bad anywhere you go so for you to be 15 minutes late means you planned poorly. I work in Redmond and planned my day so I wasn't wasting his time and still managed to get there on time. I saw what I needed to see and decide to leave the driveway since it was pointless. As frustrated as I am, he calls me at 3:25 asking me if I had left already. (Of course I did.) I let him know that I felt disrespected that I planned for a time, and as a client, if I can show up early, at minimum he should show me the respect of being on time. Then he has the audacity to boast and say "I have a team of 10 realtors I work with so you can go find another realtor" and hangs up! Really?! Not an apology. This was very unprofessional and the fact that he got mad at me for wasting my time is what forced me to write this review. I feel sorry for the people that work with Michael and I hope that he doesn't treat all of his potential clients this way but I need to make sure other people know about his attitude, lack of knowledge, and work ethics.
