One of the most honest and trustworthy Card / memorabilia places I've recently discovered!…read more Was in the mood to check out a few card shops and discovered this beautiful Gem! The sign is a bit confusing as they recently moved. Came here for some cards and boy oh boy did I leave here with so much knowledge! Ask for Mike ! He's an awesome man honest and caring. He was patient and took so much of his time to explain things and how to spot good cards. He showed me a few tricks on how to analyze cards. Price is fairly reasonable and is aligned with ebay pricing. I love how you don't need to pay for shipping! Halleeeelujahhhhh This shop has lots of Hockey /Baseball/basketball and yugioh cards . There was people playing yugioh in the place as well. It was an awesome discovery and I definitely recommend this place whole heartedly ! I will definitely be back here when Im back in town Cheers

The…read morestaff in the store were very nice and explained that I would need to call the owner, Hans to discuss pricing. I called Hans later that day, after he was advised by staff that I would be calling. He asked what price I would be looking for to sell the cards. After I told him what the cards are selling for in the open market, he seemed genuinely disinterested. He told me he would check on pricing and call me back the next day. I waited a week for him to call back and he never did. I followed up with another message and still no call back. I ended up selling to another local company, Minty Fresh. Ryan at Minty Fresh was respectful and offered fair value. The owner of Game Breakers was brutal to deal with and didn't even have the courtesy to follow up. I would not recommend Game Breakers to anyone looking to sell valuable cards.

This was my second time heading to this store in hopes if finding a board game, and the second time…read moreI have been absolutely floored by the lack of customer service. When we walked in at around 6:30pm on a weeknight, the entire store was deserted but there was a tournament of some sort going on. Te same thing happened the last time we came. I'm all about having tournaments, but these instances majorly hindered the business. The first time we went in there was literally no staff at the counter. Even after waiting, no one ever came and no one asked us if we needed help. The second time we came, there was someone behind the counter, but when we asked for help he said "I can't help you, I don't work here," in an incredibly rude tone. I couldn't believe this! We then wandered around looking for the board game we were on the hunt for, and still, no one seemed to be available to help us. On our way out the door, someone told us to "have a good night." When we asked him if he actually worked there, he said yes and asked if he could help us. He told is he had the game we were looking for, but not the version we wanted because "no one carries it anymore." (Note: we found it down the street at Mastermind Toys - ha!) Unless you enjoy the tournaments they host here, I would avoid this place. That is, unless you check their schedule and make sure not to go during one of their events.

Alex (the owner) made sure this week we had a tournament to play in even when the normal judge was out of town. On top of that he even gave out way more prizes then normal too. I would recommend it to anyone looking for card or board games.

I secretly love Showcase. So it's a store that sells a variety of stuff with lots of "as seen on…read moreTV" items. Yes, some of them are wacky and weird, but some are actually useful and innovative. They also have lots of sales, doorcrashers and clearance items. I've gotten authentic PopSockets at Showcase for $5, limited designs of course, (they had cheapie knock offs too for $3, so you just need to pay attention). I also got this purse hammock thing for my car so I can store my purse in between the driver and passenger seats over the side console - because if I have a passenger, where the heck am I supposed to put my purse? My short arms don't reach the back seat easily and I find that passengers don't appreciate it when I ask them to put my purse on their lap (don't know why they are so rude, they are the one taking the seat of my beloved purse, joking, sort of...lol). Anyway, it was $5 and everytime someone enters my car for the first time they compliment me on the coolness of the purse hammock, haha, and want one for themselves or their partners. Showcase has lots of toys, candles, and knick knacks too. Currently we are in the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic and mandatory masks in public indoor spaces are in effect here in Ottawa, and lots of other places. Showcase has reusable non-medical cloth masks for the cheapest that I have seen. Packs of 3 for $5. The quality is not top-notch (they wrinkle lots and shrink slightly in the wash) and they only have plain solid colours (no cute patterns), but hey, they are super affordable. They even come in 4 different sizes (kid's S/M, kid's L/XL, adult S/M and adult L/XL). Showcase is a pretty cool store in my books. I love going in to just poke around and I usually find something that I don't need and didn't even know that I wanted, haha. However, I also sometimes find very useful things that are hard to find anywhere else. This location is in the St. Laurent Shopping Centre. Most Showcases are inside major malls.
