I had aIready been his patient at Certified Allergy from about July 2025 - December 2025. You would think that, other than transferring your patient records there, that it would be a relatively smooth transition. However, I have to admit that I have been somewhat dismayed and frustrated with my experience. For the most part, when I started with Certified Allergy & Asthma last July 2025 and had my initial patient consultation with Dr Hallett last summer, then subsequently started my allergy shots with them, it was a pretty pleasant and seamless experience. Starting with 3 shots per week in the beginning, all of the nurses who administered my shots were pretty experienced, or they knew how to administer pretty smooth shots that didn't leave me itchy or sore the next day. At most, the mild soreness or itchiness would just be transient for the day of the shot. I didn't have any issues with billing either with Certified Allergy & Asthma. They were able to furnish my receipts upon request without any issues. However, when I followed Dr Hallett to STAAMP in Olmos Park, I felt like I incurred even more of a headache. The front desk staff was friendly and courteous, but could never furnish itemized receipts. I was always routed to the billing analyst. But even when I tried to reach the initial billing analyst, it was so difficult to get a hold of her. It wasn't until I was connected to a lady named Sandra in the billing department, and until she connected me to a lady named Mari who handles processing itemized receipts for HSA purposes that my experience with billing got better. However, in regards to my most recent clinic experience getting my monthly allergy shot here yesterday between 5 - 6 pm (since this clinic has extended hours until 7 pm on Wednesdays), I wasn't too happy. The employee who administered my shot injected way too low under my right arm. I didn't feel it right away until later in the evening. But even though she applied topical Benadryl to that area, it felt extremely itchy for the remainder of the evening. Because I typically have not had to buy Benadryl cream or spray to use myself, I didn't have any of my own when I got home. So once the itchiness really took effect on my right arm, I applied aloe vera repeatedly throughout the evening. However, the itchiness was so horrible that I couldn't even sleep well last night. I called STAAMP to notify them about my experience. However much to my frustration and dismay, a medical assistant named Miranda kept talking over me and would not listen to what I had to tell her, Even before she asked to see pictures of where I was injected, she kept insisting that how I was injected was how all nurses and medical assistants were taught to inject. I told her I never had this kind of experience before with any of the other STAAMP employees who injected me, whether I was standing up or sitting down. I also pointed out to her that at Certified Allergy, all the nurses who injected me were always pretty refined with their injections. It could also be that nurses I came across there were much more experienced and knew what they were doing as well, considering that some of them had been nurses for at least 20 years. Miranda showed my photo to a provider. Then called me back and said that Dr John Dice would not be changing his policy. I was really turned off by how she just blew me off, as well as Dr Dice himself. I wasn't asking them to change their policy. All I wanted to point out was that their employee was obviously not injecting properly because I shouldn't be itching like crazy all evening long if the injection was done correctly. I wasn't too happy when Miranda told me that John Dice determined that I could just be experiencing a reaction because of my allergies. But I told her this doesn't make sense because I have already been receiving allergy injections for at least a year now, and I know how I react to injections by now. Anyone can tell when an injection and a subsequent reaction does not feel right. I myself work in healthcare. But you don't have to be in healthcare to know that. You know when something feels off with your body when an injection was not administered correctly. I told Miranda that I don't agree with what she and Dr Dice said. Because I was really not too happy with the overall service through STAAMP, I signed a medical release form to arrange for everything to be transferred back to Certified Allergy & Asthma. I feel like I am in much better hands over there, and I have less headache. I really felt like I took a hit when I decided to follow Dr Hallett from Certified Allergy to STAAMP. No one's experience should be so horrible like this when they just want to follow a good physician.

It almost feels they get a commission if they up-sale a Dialation exam. When I went in the first person I spoke with asked if I was interested in getting a Dialation and I said no and I signed a paper stating that I did not want it. When the dr called me in that's the first thing she asked me if I was sure that I didn't want Dialation. I told her no thank you. She proceeded with the exam and I feel since she didn't get the answer she wanted she began to try and scare me into a Dialation exam. She began to tell me that even though my eyes were doing great I could lose my eyesight in just a few years. I still said no thank you and before I left her office she told me again that I should reconsider. Im a grown man and I am fully aware of the procedures I need to have done. I am also capable of making my own decisions on my health and I am not easily coherence into doing things against my will. I just felt very uncomfortable with all the tactics that the doctor used to try and convince me. I left her office feeling that I no longer wanted to return to wecare optometry. I think they should reconsider their tactics because more people will leave. If a patient says no 1 time that should be it end of discussion. I don't need to be scared into an exam or shamed if I don't take that exam. I think you all need to change your thought process when it comes to putting patients in that type of uncomfortable situation

When we, as patients are there, we are in pain, at a new environment, and vulnerable. He never communicated anything to me, what was happening, what would be happening... The Cat scan room (I didn't know I was having one, only heard X ray from prior staff) was absolutely freezing! I could not stop shivering and laid down on the cold table. I told him I had a bad back and asked for a pillow under my knees. He reluctantly walked over to get one. Then as I expressed I was shivering, he tells me to control it, that it would ruin the procedure. HOW DO YOU CONTROL your Shivering? Finally after awhile, he walked over and gave me a cover, not a blanket. It was better than nothing. I tried to relax on my own but it was difficult. I was wearing a Tshirt and long pants. After he disappeared, I had NO communication what , when, was happening or going to happen. The machine just made different noises and now and then it would move me. Only because I just had an MRI, I figured it would be awhile but had no way to communicated that I knew of or was told to me. Toward the end of what seemed forever, a different man came and said he was replacing the first one. I heard him later say something to the nurse about taking over and I assumed the first man was at the end of his shift when he got me? THANK GOD he hopefully went home! The second, replacement, communicated, was professional, and kind. That was all I asked, communication at a place I never had been to, a procedure I was not familiar with... do not think that is much to ask. Long story short, I would return but would refuse service from the first man if I ever saw him again.

If I could give 10 stars to The Emergency Clinic at The Pearl, I definitely would!…read more Last week I had some medical complications and from what my family doctor had mentioned on my last visit, I needed a CT Scan to know exactly what my problem was. When I started to look for emergency clinics I noticed this location had a CT scan, plus I had already visit them in the past and had a wonderful experience. I was quickly seen by Dr. Zeballos and he was super attentive and professional. During my time there I also interacted with three other nurses and they were all wonderful people. After just a few hours here, I left feeling 10 times better and with the right diagnose and help that I needed. Besides the amazing people working here, the clinic itself is so clean and modern. Even though they've been opened for a few years now, I swear the clinic looks exactly the same as when I first visit them four years ago. Now, the night before was pretty painful, and I explained at this point I am looking for relief. Rather than taking the time to assess and treat, the Doctor went on an entire tirade of comments that pretty made his stance pretty clear. If you are a Medicare recipient, do not enter this clinic. If you are a student getting help from your parents, do not enter this clinic. If you are feeling sick or have health issues, do not enter this clinic. This is emergency medicine, okay. And only, specific cases allowed within this place of practice.
