Let me start off by saying, if I could give Dr. Reilly and his staff 100 "5 star" reviews, I…read moreabsolutely would! I suffered severe trauma to my right eye as a toddler and for the last 20 years, I've searched for a surgeon to take on my unique case (removal of the band keratopathy that developed over the entire surface of my eye and possible cosmetic corneal tattooing). I've met with all the "best" eye surgeons in San Antonio and in Austin, even consulted a New York eye surgeon. I've lost count of how many specialists I've seen... these guys were supposed to be the best of the best but NONE of them offered to help me with my case. I've been told, "it's not worth it", "it wouldn't be possible" and that my best option would be to remove my eye. In March, after months of being in horrible pain (band keratopathy causes foreign object sensations in the eye), I FINALLY got my wish! I met with Dr. Reilly, who took my case with no hesitation! My first procedure was set up within a week of my visit and just last week he tattooed my cornea to give it a better look. The before and after photos speak for themselves... simply phenomenal! Thank you so much, Dr. Reilly! I absolutely cannot thank you enough! So many blessings to you and your amazing staff! I hope anyone in the same boat sees this review and reaches out to you

I went in for my free screening to see if I was a viable candidate and everyone in the office during that visit was wonderful. They answered all of my questions that I had about the various tests that they were performing and they answered them in a professional, but pleasant manner. Yesterday was my surgery day and everything went to plan. My mother drove me to the Alamo Vision Center, the surgery took about 15 mins and I was immediately able to see clearly, leafs on trees etc. I was sensitive to light immediately afterwards, which is normal, and after arriving home and taking about a 2 hour nap I could see so well I could watch tv, read, etc with no problem. The next day(today) I went in to the office for my check up and Dr. Rashid said that everything looked perfect and I could read the 20:15 line for the vision check! I absolutely recommend getting LASIK from Dr. Rashid!

Doctor Deviney & crew are awesome!…read more I first came here about ten years ago. My review back then was 5 Stars. A decade later, it remains the same. Out of curiosity, I read the negative reviews here for them and was, frankly, shocked. It seems that the few negative reviews are in regards to the office employees, even being careful to indicate that the doctor was fine. I fully support the rave reviews for Doctor Deviney. I do confess I am not the easiest patient, as I frequently have many questions and an interest in finding out what all my options are before I make a decision. Nevertheless, he is always very patient, open, and willing to engage in conversation and offer me his expertise. He is clearly a popular guy, which makes sense, but it does not prevent him from always seeing me promptly. I only remember once in the last decade when I wondered what was taking so long, but even that is negligible because it was not anything unreasonable, maybe twenty minutes. Maybe it is because he has spoiled me by always being ready to see me- once the preliminary tests are done by other members on the team- within ten minutes. Over the years there has only been one short period where there was another doctor sharing the office with him (Doctor Manasia), but she has since moved back to Houston. I did see her that one year, and she was nice enough, but I do remember being a little sad that I missed my annual or semi annual visit with Deviney. Other than the one time, it has always been him flying solo as the only optometrist running this location. Maybe a demanding task for anyone else, but Doctor Deviney has had no problems, as far as I can tell. Getting back to the other members on the team, Ariel, the office manager, is highly recommended with any inquiries or even issues you might have. Always friendly, understanding, welcoming, and even seems to remember a little about me, even though I am sure he has so many patients coming in and out that I can be but a tiny dot on his radar! Other reviewers have mentioned the ladies (Cecilia & Leticia, by my memory) not being nice to them or "curt". Anyone who reads my reviews on Google & here on Yelp knows I try to be honest- sometimes maybe brutally so. I will say that, maybe compared to Ariel, they are less outwardly initiating with their friendliness; more reserved and maybe quiet personalities. Sometimes they have also been short with me, but I am sure that is due to them being more business like rather than with any negative emotion. This should not be construed as faults. They have always been courteous when I have initiated conversation or questions. As for other complaints regarding pricing and such, this is a business; we are in a capitalist society. Only saying. I can personally vouch for them trying to give me better deals on things they can do that for, like frames, but I doubt they have much power over how much someone's insurance covers or how much to charge for standard procedures. Again, things that do have some leeway with to name things easier for the patients, such as payment plans, for example, they are also willing to offer. Anyone who reads my reviews likewise recognizes that I am relatively stingy with my stars, so it is rare that anyone receive five stars from me. As a last note, readers should acknowledge that pretty much every great business has a few negative reviews. It would actually be a little more suspicious if it were perfect. This is simple statistics. So if you have any doubts, I would recommend you read the details in the reviews for the reasons why. It is no shock to me that Doctor Deviney has taken the effort and the time to address the negative reviews, at least on Google. You can read his responses and draw your own conclusions.

I especially love that big TV I'm disappointed in that I've had to come so much but it wasn't the doctor's fault that I had lesions on my eyes and that one of the lesions tooki forever to heal. It seemed like so. It's been a long Wait and by the time I finally got here I it was like oh my gosh now what am I they better finally get to this and I had complete trust and I still do complete. Trust in the professionalism capacity of everybody here everyone's been very kind and considered of my disabilities and a lot of times I just don't understand or follow things cause I'm almost 70 and I really appreciate the general friendliness of everybody. I do have a comment in that not all the doctors in introduce themselves and I want to be a person to them and I want them to be a person of me and my memory is pretty lousy anyway, so I might not remember their name even if they say it, but it gives sort of an imp personality because it's a kind of intimate thing and so when there's a whole team and you can't quite figure out which one is coming this time that would be the one thing I would appreciate more maybe to be assigned just one doctor and then that would be my doctor yeah but so far all of them are great. It's just like a family of 10 or something. The materials are first rate to help with the financing was critical. The explanations have always been great when the problems I had and that's just cause I'm an older person but maybe I love your older persons or older persons here I had difficulty managing emails I just in my instructions were sent by email and they almost can't cancel my surgery yesterday because I didn't know I wasn't supposed to drink anything. I hadn't had anything to eat since breakfast but I had it just a small tiny. I mean it was five hours but not six and I did have something to drink and I just I didn't know I didn't know this was IPO cause I didn't think they were going to use injectable anesthesia. I was told only Local just a local glam station so I wasn't thinking NPO but it turned out OK because they forgave me for one hour and 4 ounces but that that's the kind of thing if they wanted to be stickers they could've shut the whole thing down and may you reschedule and maybe you know charge me For Sweet getting wasted for that much time so overall I would just have to say you guys have made it so easy and so pleasant and I'm one eye down and one eye to go and I was really kind of surprised this lens right here is supposed to be for near too far, but I could almost read line one on that sheet you just gave me and that was super tiny. I'm sure it was a sign for people with near help but I got like four out of the five letters so thank you so much for for being so wonderful and again I said that this is the best lobby I've ever seen in a hospital or clinical situation thank you.

I felt it was time for a change and I knew it would be a stressful experience trying to find a new frame that I'd like and that would complement my face. When I arrived there were two people ahead of me so I used the free time to try on nearly every pair of frames they had available which made the process go much quicker and easier. Once it was my turn I had around 8 frames picked out and with the help of Homer he helped me narrow it down to one. He patiently explained what to look for in terms of fit and comfort - I didn't know that my eyes were supposed to be in the exact middle of the frame/lens or that positioning of eyebrows didn't lend itself well to straight frames! I've been wearing glasses for over 20 years and no one ever explained any of this kind of information to me. Not only did he know his stuff he also made a very stressful situation (what if I pick the wrong frames?!!) into a very easy and stress free experience. I even asked him and his colleague for their recommendations and while I was initially not sure about their selection (wasn't a frame I'd naturally gravitate towards to) it turns out that it was flattering on my face and fit quite well so I ended up purchasing 2 sets of glasses. The whole process took less than 2 hours from start to finish which includes ordering and paying for the glasses. It would've taken less time if I hadn't been so indecisive! What a great experience, thanks UIW!
