They have consistently provided superb service and follow-through, so I recommend this location to anyone who is looking for a PCP. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I missed an appointment due to an emergency, called them beforehand to let them know, and they said it would be enough since it was an emergency. Called to reschedule, they said I never called so I'd have to pay. Asked them to check their system, they didn't find evidence of my call. I called back to reschedule again, the said they found the notes in their system, but I'd have to appeal formally. I asked them what proof was needed, and they said I'd just have to make the claim that I had emergency surgery. So I asked what's the difference between now and then, since I had already done that and what would constitute as proof to waive the fee. They couldn't really answer, transferred me to billing and billing said they couldn't do anything, I'd have to talk to the practice. I asked billing to get on the call with me and the practice, and they said they would, but they did a simple transfer instead. When I finally agreed to pay and appeal later, they didn't have the appointment I needed. One big circus, wasting everyone's time, over 25 dollars.

I followed Dr Jeffrey Hallett from Certified Allergy & Asthma in Alamo Heights to STAAMP in Olmos…read morePark about 7 months ago because I really liked his allergist expertise and his fantastic patient care. I had aIready been his patient at Certified Allergy from about July 2025 - December 2025. You would think that, other than transferring your patient records there, that it would be a relatively smooth transition. However, I have to admit that I have been somewhat dismayed and frustrated with my experience. For the most part, when I started with Certified Allergy & Asthma last July 2025 and had my initial patient consultation with Dr Hallett last summer, then subsequently started my allergy shots with them, it was a pretty pleasant and seamless experience. Starting with 3 shots per week in the beginning, all of the nurses who administered my shots were pretty experienced, or they knew how to administer pretty smooth shots that didn't leave me itchy or sore the next day. At most, the mild soreness or itchiness would just be transient for the day of the shot. I didn't have any issues with billing either with Certified Allergy & Asthma. They were able to furnish my receipts upon request without any issues. However, when I followed Dr Hallett to STAAMP in Olmos Park, I felt like I incurred even more of a headache. The front desk staff was friendly and courteous, but could never furnish itemized receipts. I was always routed to the billing analyst. But even when I tried to reach the initial billing analyst, it was so difficult to get a hold of her. It wasn't until I was connected to a lady named Sandra in the billing department, and until she connected me to a lady named Mari who handles processing itemized receipts for HSA purposes that my experience with billing got better. However, in regards to my most recent clinic experience getting my monthly allergy shot here yesterday between 5 - 6 pm (since this clinic has extended hours until 7 pm on Wednesdays), I wasn't too happy. The employee who administered my shot injected way too low under my right arm. I didn't feel it right away until later in the evening. But even though she applied topical Benadryl to that area, it felt extremely itchy for the remainder of the evening. Because I typically have not had to buy Benadryl cream or spray to use myself, I didn't have any of my own when I got home. So once the itchiness really took effect on my right arm, I applied aloe vera repeatedly throughout the evening. However, the itchiness was so horrible that I couldn't even sleep well last night. I called STAAMP to notify them about my experience. However much to my frustration and dismay, a medical assistant named Miranda kept talking over me and would not listen to what I had to tell her, Even before she asked to see pictures of where I was injected, she kept insisting that how I was injected was how all nurses and medical assistants were taught to inject. I told her I never had this kind of experience before with any of the other STAAMP employees who injected me, whether I was standing up or sitting down. I also pointed out to her that at Certified Allergy, all the nurses who injected me were always pretty refined with their injections. It could also be that nurses I came across there were much more experienced and knew what they were doing as well, considering that some of them had been nurses for at least 20 years. Miranda showed my photo to a provider. Then called me back and said that Dr John Dice would not be changing his policy. I was really turned off by how she just blew me off, as well as Dr Dice himself. I wasn't asking them to change their policy. All I wanted to point out was that their employee was obviously not injecting properly because I shouldn't be itching like crazy all evening long if the injection was done correctly. I wasn't too happy when Miranda told me that John Dice determined that I could just be experiencing a reaction because of my allergies. But I told her this doesn't make sense because I have already been receiving allergy injections for at least a year now, and I know how I react to injections by now. Anyone can tell when an injection and a subsequent reaction does not feel right. I myself work in healthcare. But you don't have to be in healthcare to know that. You know when something feels off with your body when an injection was not administered correctly. I told Miranda that I don't agree with what she and Dr Dice said. Because I was really not too happy with the overall service through STAAMP, I signed a medical release form to arrange for everything to be transferred back to Certified Allergy & Asthma. I feel like I am in much better hands over there, and I have less headache. I really felt like I took a hit when I decided to follow Dr Hallett from Certified Allergy to STAAMP. No one's experience should be so horrible like this when they just want to follow a good physician.

But while I was under the care of this clinic in Alamo Heights, I've never been so mistreated in my entire life. So I recommend for any high acuity needs (or even low acuity needs) DO NOT VISIT THIS CLINIC! Horrible care. Unsafe wheelchair handling. Disrespect of personal boundaries. Lack of skill competency. Threatening and coercive language...I wouldn't return to this emergency clinic even if my life depended on it. The physician on staff (my family and I can't even remember her name because she was not involved in hardly any of my care) and the RN Magdiel were completely incompetent and condescending. I ended up being transferred by ems to another hospital for emergency gallbladder removal and while under the care of this staff I've never been so untreated and uncared for by medical personnel in my 41 years. I will never return to this establishment and I will never refer any family or friends to this clinic either. Period. Unsafe wheelchair handling - Mr. Magdiel RN repeatedly ran my wheelchair into doorways and furniture, creating unnecessary discomfort and risk of injury. Violation of privacy - Upon taking me to the restroom, Mr. Magdiel RN told my father to remain in the bathroom to help me urinate, despite my clear statement that I did not need assistance. I am 41 years old, and this was both inappropriate and unnecessary. Lack of competency - He did not appear to know how to start an IV. When I expressed that starting one in my hand would cause significant pain due to my condition, he disregarded my concerns. And I already had a working IV another female nurse started in my right AC Threatening and coercive language - When I declined the IV in my hand, he stated, "Well, I guess I'll have to tape your arms down straight then." I refused, to which he replied, "Well, I guess you don't want your medication for pain then." This was manipulative, unethical, and unacceptable. Because I already had a working IV to my right AC. For the amount of effort this clinic puts into patient service and satisfaction scores you would think they would have better hired staff. Even the ems transport team ShurMed has more empathy and compassion. I definitely left ShurMed a five star review
