What I ordered vs what was delivered. I was not only profoundly disappointed especially after I had called the shop before ordering to verbally confirm that the website image would be an accurate image of what would be delivered. As you can clearly see this was not the case. I have asked for a full refund. I will update my review with the response from Allen's. I am hoping they admit they were at fault and make this right. I called the shop and they were very defensive insisting I had received the correct arrangement. I offered to send the photo's 3 times and was told they didn't need to see them. They have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. They clearly did not believe me and finally conceded to allowing me to send the pictures. They then indicated that it was a one sided arrangement and the picture was of the back side. No where on the website does it indicate this, nor when I called prior to the order did they mention this. The owner made the arrangement and said she would never let something like that leave the shop and don't know what happened in transit. They gave me a partial refund, subtracting the cost of the vase $18 and delivery $10. Am I 100% satisfied, absolutely not, especially after the way they spoke to me before finally apologizing at the very end of our conversation. I would never do business with them again. read more

This is my first time reviewing on Yelp. I ordered a flower arrangement for Mother's Day from 1-800-Flowers. I have posted pictures below of what I thought my mom would be getting vs. what she actually received from Allen's Flowers. I realize that it's graduation weekend in CoMo on top of Mother's Day weekend, but I'm appalled at the quality of work here. I've contacted 1-800-Flowers and they will be issuing me a partial refund, but if there's a way to avoid Allen's Flowers for your local delivery options, I would definitely do it. My husband has sent me flowers from Allen's flowers for a couple of years now. There flowers are always nice, full, and last long. However, recently, we have noticed that they are adding a special feature to their service, and thought I should let people know. If you would like to send flowers as a surprise, either inform the florist not to call the person receiving them because they are a surprise, or give them your number to confirm that the person is going to be where they say they are at the time of delivery. My husband and I have sent flowers to my mother-in-law and the florist called them to ask if they were there and if they could just leave them outside the door in the freezing cold. This ruined our surprise to her for receiving the flowers and honestly, leaving them out in the cold is not a good practice to have. Today, I received my flowers, but 2 hours before I received them, I got a call from them asking if I was at the address provided by my husband, thus ruining my surprise of receiving flowers delivered. The flowers themselves were beautiful as usual, but would have like to have gotten them by surprise and not a phone call from the florist. There has to be a way around this that this company should adopt into their practices, not by calling the recipient ruining the surprise of getting flowers. read more

My husband and I had our wedding in Columbia, home of our alma mater, and had Tina at Allen's take care of our flowers. We were completely blown away by how friendly and creative she was. She was completely on board with our ideas for our (admittedly rather non-traditional) wedding. We wanted lots of bright colors and pinwheels incorporated into our arrangements, which she accommodated with no problem. She had lots of great recommendations for the types of floral options that would work best in our ceremony space, and even helped us save money by giving us suggestions for how to convert our ceremony flowers into reception decorations. On the day of the wedding the flowers were ready on time and looked stunning. We couldn't be happier! read more

Got a call from Tina at Allen's Flowers for delivering flowers to my apartment. I kept trying to tell her that we are not a locked apartment building but she wouldn't bother to listen-she did say "I can leave your flowers on the sidewalk!". She also butchered the pronunciation of my wife's name but she obviously didn't care. Had to speak with her son to get it though their heads that it's not a locked apartment building. Insulting your customers is a terrible way to do business. read more

I ordered flowers and always try and use a local business to deliver. I never got a confirmation of delivery so called the store to see if they had been delivered. The 800 number listed on their website said the number had been changed or was no longer in service. Called the local number and it just rang and rang. Never answered or had a message machine come on. At this point, i really don't know if the flowers were delivered, if this flower shop is legit or they just took my online credit card purchase and kept the money. I received flowers for Mothers Day. While very happy about that, I was disappointed by the condition of the flowers. The pale green and pink roses had brown edges and looked a few days old. Some green leaves had brown spots and others were already dropping. It lacked design and looked like flowers had just been stuck in a small glass vase so it was top-heavy. The green roses were clumped together as were the pinks so I mixed them up to create some visual interest. They had no scent at all. The pale pink lillies were already dropping some petals too. Since the day before Mothers Day was very hot and is a busy delivery day, I can understand somewhat the wilting flower/leaf condition but not the lack of color and design interest. I don't know the cost of the arrangement, but I personally will choose to shop elsewhere. read more

My husband, who was in Afghanistan, tried to surprise me for our wedding anniversary with sending me beautiful green orchids but this florist not only ruined the surprise but sent me a 'substitution' like nothing he'd ordered. They called my home and instead of just saying 'this message is for James about an order you placed and we need you to call us back ASAP', they actually left a voice mail telling me every single detail of the order he placed and who it was for, meaning I heard the entire surprise. The flowers I was supposed to get instead became a massive plant but not in a good way. The buds were small and the pot was just a boring white pot. I am so tired of florists advertising flowers on their website and then not being able to follow through.
