Had a great family outing here! Made reservations for 8 people online and paid a small deposit. Appreciate that you can make online reservations months in advance. When we arrived on reservation day, the staff was prepared with our reservation information and we completed the remaining payment and shoe rentals for our group. The process was smooth and painless. The snack bar staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating. We ordered the club sandwich with fries and the pretzels with nacho cheese. Both were really good. We were pleasantly surprised. Reasonably priced and fresh ingredients. The establishment was clean and set up well. Happy we were able to eat while we bowled down by the scoring machine. We also appreciated that they spread out the bowling groups well, so we didn't feel like we were bowling on top of each other. Overall a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back! read more

Food quality, customer service, and lane service. I ordered the nachos ($15 bucks). When you order on your phone it asks for a table then confirms your table after you pay. We payed and waited 25 minutes before we finally asked someone. The person we asked said the food has been ready at the front counter for the past 20 plus minutes. When we asked about the app and delivery she smirked off with... "that isn't her job, that's on someone else." We went up to get our food to be extremely disappointed. Chips were stale, cheese was ice cold and they put a mount of sour cream. We asked for a new set of nachos and the guy just put a layer of new hot cheese on a few chips. I wouldn't take my worst enemy to this place. Complete garbage food, smelt weird and very dirty. 1/10.. I give it a 1 because it's in a decent neighborhood.. I tell you what, stepping into this place is like stepping into a time warp. The bar is windowed in from the era of indoor smoking. And everyone now and then you'll catch a whiff of stale cigarette smoke. The carpet harkens you back the early 90's. The neon lighting of the food court reminds you of going to the mall in the 80's It hasn't been updated in I'm assuming a while. You can reserve lanes online. I recommend that. We showed up and had to wait 30 minutes, but once we strapped the shoes and started hurling balls at pins, it was a good time. The food, honestly is what you would expect. Pizza made fresh, chicken strips, burgers, fries or chip, sandwiches. And Pepsi products. There is not a lot of healthy options, but your bowling. So obviously calories and points don't count. The line to order moves pretty quick. Remember that window cover bar/lounge. It's not bad. Pitchers won't break the bank, that have to some good micros and of course domestics on tap. And the lounge has some space to move around. They also have pool tables and a kid casino (arcade) Honestly don't come expecting the top of line big Al's experience. Your typical bowling alley that met our expectations. Came on a Sunday afternoon before 2pm for the $2.50/person/game (plus $4.50 for shoe rental). We got a lane for 6 of us and had a blast. The machine had a couple snafus where the staff needed to fix it, but I feel like that happens at every bowling alley I've ever been to. It took a while to hunt down some balls that worked for us, but we eventually found them. They have LOTS of lanes (maybe 30-40?), so there was no waiting which was awesome. This is the best bowling ally in the Portland Vancouver area. It is an old fashion bowling lane, low key atmospher, family friendly, and worn around the edges. We were looking for a bowling alley that wasn't super busy (like Portland). So we came here and it was perfect! The service for food was super slow but it seems like they have young teenagers working there, which is great so we didn't mind being patient! I'm giving a four just because the building was super old, run down and had water damage everywhere. Besides that... it was exactly what we were looking for... not busy, a nice place to bowl and food. I will say one that sucks was that if one person needs bumpers the whole party needs bumpers.... This place is run down and typically has dirty restrooms. The monitors rarely work properly (if they work at all) and the bowling pins often have to be reset. Went there for the first time yesterday because we had the kids bowl free. It was around 5pm and the place was almost dead. There was one family bowling and another older gentleman who appears to be a regular. No staff around at the register but some in the bar. After about 10mins of wait time, someone finally came out to assist us. Staff were very friendly but oh my god, the place needs ALOT of upgrades. Mainly the ceiling. It had tons of water damage stains and possibly mold (who knows). One table was missing all chairs. Our balls kept getting stuck and he finally move is to another lane. My daughter was thirsty so I went to get a water bottle from the vending machine. Put money in and it then said "Sold Out". Had to go get my money back from the guy at the register. We payed for 2 games and was outta there. If they could update it a bit, it would be a nice little place to go to since it's nearby but we won't be back until then. read more

The pro shop was pretty cool. I love the bowling ball "history" on the top back shelf. They seemed cool & friendly. And I got a good double-roller at a good deal- $76! Most are like $100+. Pretty solid retro bowling alley. Nice website. Great typical american cafe fix. Cool bar for those folks. The ball rack and UG chute were kinda noisy and the place lacks a bit on the maintenance side. Cool scoring monitors and system, though. This also happened to remind me that Brunswick's Great Universal Furnishings are SO 90's! And all too common... Been coming to this bowling alley for a couple months now. This is where my weekly bowling league is held. The employees at the alley are really great and always helpful. I mainly interact with the bartenders cause you gotta have a few drinks when you bowl..duh! The bar staff gets to know your name and your drink of choice and they always are very attentive. Wish they were not restricted to the shot measuring gun when making mixed drinks. Old bowling alleys like this are quickly disappearing from the Portland area so I'm all about supporting this place. Not bad for an older bowling alley. Sunday's are where it's at. They have $1-2 games and comic bowling on Saturdays in the afternoon for $5/game per person. For customers: We would recommend clarifying what the rules for mask coverage and drinking are before going to your lane. The staff is disorganized and gave multiple different instructions to us over the course of the night, it was very confusing and a bit abrasive. Definitely come to this spot, they're obviously trying their best to accommodate everyone in the middle of the pandemic, which can't be easy! Just make sure you clarify, so you don't get snapped at mid bowl, as we did unfortunately. Regardless, the table and bowling balls had clearly been sanitized and the staff was kind enough to give us an extra game to accommodate an unrelated mix up at the lanes. Over all, would definitely recommend! For management: Please please please adjust and standardize your policy on masks and eating/drinking in the tables. Things we heard when at your establishment: 1) "Wear masks when bowling, you can remove masks for eating and drinking only when at the tables" 2) "Keep mask on at all times, unless holding a drink in your hand with intension to drink" 3) "Masks must be on even if a drink is in your hand; only remove it temporarily in order to drink then put it back on" There should be no discrepancy in your policy. We were startled and chastised by an employee for following the rules exactly as they were described to us in the beginning of the visit, which according to him was apparently an intentional violation of the rules. This shouldn't be happening. Whatever rules you are working with please simply make sure ALL staff is aware. This is a hard time for everyone, we appreciate you being open during such trying times as this; there is no formula for being an open business during a pandemic, so we appreciate you trying your best! This is discount bowling with fun for the whole family where you can get the most bowlin' for your buck. Don't come here for the food or championship bowling. Instead, bring your kids, a date, or coworkers to Allen's Crosley Lanes for a chance to bring out your famous hook monster move and chuck some well-worn (and dented) balls down some cheesy cakes. I've been here probably 20 times or more in the last 10 years. This place is actually pretty decent as far as bowling alleys go. The lanes are in good shape, the computers, ball returns, floors, and shoes are all fairly new and nice. The building is clean and kept up, the A/C works well, and the lanes are very, very numerous. So long as you avoid league nights, you can usually get a lane without any problem. It is a fun time. The prices are comparable to other alleys, but there is a $1/game on Sundays deal and there's always lanes open. The pro shop is small, but decent. There is a game area that can get pricey, but there are tickets to redeem for prizes too - so it's pretty fun for the kids. The staff at the front counter are usually pretty helpful. The only things that need fixing are in the food and drink service areas. These are the areas where they can outflank newer places like Big Al's and Grand Central. 1. The food is the cheapest possible pre-packaged, frozen stuff, but at higher prices - and they have a whole kitchen, so why not cook for real?...I just can't pay the prices for that kind of food (but would gladly for real food). 2. The people who run the food area are not personable. They act like they hate their job and don't seem to try for the customer very hard. To wit: I ordered nachos (chips with machine cheeze) and it was doused, I mean swimming. I asked for salsa and, without looking up, she gave me a nearly empty bottle of dirty looking Tobasco. I know they have salsa because I saw other people with it. Believe me, there was only one other customer ordering a burger at the time. She wasn't busy. 3. The bar staff is not that friendly either. The girl sits behind the bar on her phone or chatting with her local friends. The drink prices are fine, but they would do well to improve them or expand happy hour promotions to bring in more traffic. They would move more product if they did. Bottom Line: I would give this place 4 stars or more if the food/bar service was better. This area should excel in such decent facilities. With places like Grand Central and Big Als around, they need to step it up. However, don't avoid it. It's a good time for families and a nice way to spend a couple of hours in a unique part of Vancouver. read more

When making the reservations we were not informed that they would not sell alcohol due to a youth group that was bowling.I would not have gone had we been informed of this. That aside, they moved some of us after the 2nd game then repeatedly shut down our lanes (5 times in all). 9:45pm Saturday night. It's a freaking mad house. Cosmic bowl is about to start at 10 so 100+ people in line waiting tell 10 for shoes and lane rental. LUCKY for us we Reserved 5 lanes for a party of 30+ and prepaid for shoes and games!! Wrong. With only 2 guys running the shoes, Both rental and returns, they are swamped and we are told we have to wait in line with everyone else. EVERYONE ELSE IS WAITING TO GET LANES, we have lanes, and we have already paid!!! After arguing for 5 minutes we finally get our shoes and join the group. Our party quickly got out of hand. 30 turned to 50 and the booze was flowing. A group of us made our way into the lounge for a game of shuffle board. Had to go back up front, wait in line and put a CC on file, pay $10 to play. Very slow bar tender and 1 beer back. Two mile long line for $4.50 Coors light. Just all around fiasco. Friendly, fun, and pizza was great! Perfect classic bowling alley/ arcade. Definitely recommend! They called our name over the intercom for pizza and we did not here it. By the time we got our pizza it was cold and so they even reheated it before giving it to us. We came in last night to bowl a couple games. We waited at the counter for someone to come help us. The phone rang and they came to answer the phone otherwise I think we would have been standing there longer. Couldn't tell who was working. My guess is that they were cleaning a lane, but I don't know. It would have been nice if there had been a bell to ring. Once they helped us, it went quick. They had open lanes on a Saturday at 7:00 PM. The group next to us were not wearing masks. The sign says you have to be actively eating or drinking to go without a mask, but they just had drinks on their table they were finished with. The procedure for finishing is leaving shoes and ball in your lane so they can be sanitized. read more

Came on a Monday at 3pm, sitting in the I5 traffic sucked but I love coming here! The place was dead inside, but they informed me that we wouldn't be able to get a lane until after 5 because they are holding the lanes for high schoolers. Even if we were to wait the two hours then we would only be able to bowl till 6 pm. I was a little disappointed because there was no indication on their website saying that they don't plan on having lanes available to the public. They young men laughed at me as if I was supposed to know that they were going to be busy. He then proceeded to tell me that I should have called ahead and made a lane reservation. I have never heard of making a lane reservation for only two people... All in all good bowling HORRIBLE customer service. read more

I love this establishment. It's not as fancy as Big Als, but I think it's just as good if not better. The prices are extremely fair which is a big reason why we go here instead. The staff has always been very friendly and knowledgeable. The lanes are well maintained and not over greased. They have a large selection of balls so your never stuck waiting or searching for one to find. The bar is well stocked and the drinks are always really good. They have a good variety of beers on tap as well. We have only ordered food a few times but have always enjoyed what we got. On our last visit we ordered a couple of pizzas. I'm not kidding, these pizzas were some of the best Iv'e had. Who knew a bowling alley would have better pizza than most pizza places! I would highly recommend this establishment if your looking to have a good time and not pay an arm and leg to do so. read more

I heart spending less than a ten-spot for somewhat decent food, way decent brewski (all right, it was Budweiser - I'm still in post-vacation poverty), and game upon game of sweet geometric action. Does this mean I heart ... Vantucky? Really? Like one of those rom-com fantasies starring the actor from Scooby Doo where the guy realizes that the whole time he pursued the bodacious but cold and unapproachable co-ed, he was really in heart with his kinda geeky but totally cute BFF? And that BFF is a city in Washington that inspires some to drink mint juleps on porches while stroking a banjo? Nooo. Vantucky is a good friend and always a fun option for frugal Sunday night fun, but I don't heart it in that way. On the other hand, I am so in heart with Bloody Mary specials, vivid discussions of the power of bathrobes, Terry Time, DK's come-from-behind special, Justin's groovy exit walk, and my MAD VARSITY BOWLING SKILZ that barely cracked 90 the first game. It was a busy Friday and he seemed oblivious to what was going on. The only reason I gave two stars is that the other guy working was running around trying to fix all of the other things going wrong (i.e. stuck balls, ball return problems, pins in the gutters, etc.) This alley really could use a face lift also. ONE DOLLA Sundays, which include $1 per game, shoe rentals, and lots of junky food (b) The likelihood of running into someone I know (besides yeeps) greatly decreases, making my likelihood of wearing a robe higher Pretty large facility, with a full bar (go, Washington!), a few slots, and a kiddie arcade. Apparently the mens urinals have the propensity to leak and spew water all over. And there are a few areas where the floor is definitely caving in. And I'm pretty sure the lanes aren't completely flat, as I rolled almost an entire game of gutters. Oh how I love me some bowling. Especially $1 Sunday bowling. Nothing like being able to play a game for $1 as well as rent your shoes for $1. Then fill up on fries and a shake (the fries were $1 but alas the milkshake was about $3...I think). It is a tradition, I always have to get a blackberry shake from this bowling alley. This is a very large bowling alley. For some reason the employees decide to cram everyone in side by side instead of utilizing the whole facility sometimes. Oh well, less maintenance? Who knows. Even though it is somewhat newly remodeled, things seem to be falling apart a little. Nothing like walking to the lane only to almost fall into the floor. Not to mention the reset buttons for the lanes do not always work. At least the staff is very friendly and get things started for you quickly. Not up to bowling? There is at least plenty of seating to go around to just hang out. You could also play at the arcade (I have no clue what games are in there seeing as how I didn't venture in), or if you're 21+ you can play pool in the bar (and of course get your drink on).
