I was the driver for this elderly woman, who is also in a wheelchair. In addition, I recently had shoulder surgery so operating with one arm, the other in a large sling. We arrived 9 minutes late, for an early morning appt, there were no other people in the waiting room, not even one. She simply said Doctor can't fit you in today he's very busy. You are 10 minutes late. At first I thought she was joking, due to that fact that we were the only ones in the waiting room. But she said no, you must reschedule. Absolutely ZERO compassion for this woman or what it takes to get to her to appointments. I apologized for being late, and asked if she could please try to fit her in. No. We will not be going back to this office and I would NOT recommend them.

Often I went because I had no insurance and they work with patients who don't have insurance and treat you with the same quality and respect. The process is thorough and you are not stuck waiting to be helped. I love the efficiency of the appointment but they are also willing to take time to listen and understand any concerns. They also offer realistic, advice with multiple options to let patients know their choices. I've moved several times and will not give up seeing Dr. Lillie and his team!

They also have a large section where they offer office supplies, free of charge so things like binders, tab files, anything that might be found in an office they usually have available. There hours can be a little wonky so it's a good idea to double check before you head out there. They also do not take cash, so be prepared for that. I felt disrespected and then bad for the customer because she seemed kind despite going before me after seeing me there. I'm not upset with the customer but I did feel disrespected by the staff. They had already checked on my insurance coverage, which takes a load off our minds right away. The optometrist, was amazing, and friendly! I could tell when I walked in people feel comfortable and cared for there. She took a full hour with me and explained different procedures with me, such as cataracts, contacts, bi- focals, eyelid correction& answered all my questions! Coming from a background where my brother Dr Dale Van Dyke, was always our family optometrist! I had moved back to Grandville and he was retired, so I tried the fast paced eye care places,like RX OPTICAL, etc...only to find rushed , and assembly line care.
