Here we are, beginning of 2024, being told the attorney died and someone else will proceed with the divorce so long as we just pay for the final step. However, I haven't read about this attorney dying? No one answers the phone. No answering machine/voicemail.. something isn't right here. We also haven't received any further paperwork. How the heck do we just get our money back? Nothing has been done, aside from us sending payments!!

The process is simple and efficient using group workshops for understanding followed by personal one-on-one attention with the attorneys. The best part is the ongoing education opportunities that are available, some related to estate planning and others related to other senior citizen issues or topics. Not only have we been educated but our named executors have also been educated on their responsibilities upon our death. We joined the Red Wagon Club which, for a monthly fee, offers free access to attorneys/staff, free modifications to our plan, as well as offers educational and social opportunities. We find this to be a good value. We feel we understand our estate plan better than we ever have in the past in large part due to the personal approach and continued education. That understanding helps us make good decisions as we open new accounts or make changes to how we want our assets distributed upon death in the least costly way possible. We see Tim Sechler regularly, and he and the staff know us by name. The personal touch is evident. We highly recommend the Sechler Law Firm.

Estate planning is about more than preparing documents. It's about having someone you trust to…read moreguide you through important decisions. Unfortunately, that was missing from our experience. We hired Sechler Law Firm to assist a family member with estate planning. We went into the process unsure of exactly what was needed and relied on the firm for professional guidance and recommendations. Unfortunately, our experience was marked by inconsistent communication, a lack of continuity, unanswered questions, and confusion surrounding fees and services. We initially worked with one person who went on vacation, which was completely understandable. However, when she returned, our communication with her never resumed. Instead, we found ourselves working with two other individuals throughout the remainder of the process, without a clear understanding of who was ultimately overseeing our case. Another concern was that we paid half of the estate-planning fee upfront, but to our knowledge, no engagement or fee agreement was ever signed. This left us unclear about exactly what services were included and what might result in additional charges. We also raised important questions about assets that needed to be addressed as part of the estate plan. We were told the firm was looking into our questions and would follow up, but we never received the promised guidance. Nearly two months later, we were informed that an additional paid consultation with an attorney would be required to discuss those concerns. We were also unable to get a clear estimate of what any related work might cost. Throughout the entire process, we never met directly with an attorney. Ultimately, we decided not to proceed with the documents and sought assistance elsewhere. The difference was night and day. Our new firm began with a comprehensive questionnaire and document-upload process before our first appointment, ensuring that important assets and concerns were identified from the start. Our first meeting was directly with an attorney, who provided clear answers and guidance. To Sechler's credit, they agreed to refund the full amount we had paid when we terminated the relationship, and we appreciate that. However, the refund took nearly a month to receive and required two additional follow-up emails on our part. While we are grateful that the firm honored its commitment, the process unfortunately reflected some of the same communication and follow-through frustrations we experienced throughout our time with them. We weren't expecting estate planning to be simple, but we did expect clear communication, transparency about fees, and consistent professional guidance. Unfortunately, that wasn't our experience. I hope sharing this helps other families understand the importance of asking questions about who will be handling their case, what services are included, and when they will have the opportunity to speak directly with an attorney.

Immediately it was clear to me that he had read nothing about the case that I was involved in. He answered the phone exhausted and asked how I could help how he could help me. And which I had to go back through all the details of my case. But not really. Because in reality I have extreme anxiety and sometimes when I'm nervous I talk fast and I talk loud which seem to annoy him. I tried to explain to him about my anxiety and apologize profusely and without really hearing or listening. I should say about any of my damages that don't just involve me as a person but also my property. He stated that if I wasn't seeking medical attention, he couldn't help me any further. That's not what I was saying at all. And then he hung up on me. So basically I'm telling him how I felt insignificant unimportant irrelevant small devalued the night of the incident I felt like this gentleman just reiterated it and somehow was able to validate it. When seeking an attorney you want to find one that's going to go into battle with you. Unfortunately, this gentleman was lackluster. He didn't want to have a fight or a battle. He wanted to slammed dunk on case that was handed to him, and apparently I wasn't that girl so I would definitely not recommend these gentlemen
