Very nice and romantic restaurant on the beaten path of Venice. The staff was friendly and attentive. The older gentleman who waited on us was very nice and friendly and helped us with our menu selection and was flexible with where we wanted to sit. The food was very tasty although I felt they could have given more king prong shrimp with the appetizer. My husband and I shared that and although they were big they only gave three. Four would have been perfect so that we could have had two each. My pasta dish was a little too al dente for me but maybe that's the way they cook it here in Italy. What do I know, lol? It was tasty nonetheless. I definitely recommend the place to anyone considering it. For sure a nice romantic place to visit if you are on a honeymoon or celebrating a wedding anniversary as were we. :)

This place is a HIDDEN GEM. The front of the restaurant is unassuming and looks like every other small cafe with a couple outside tables. However, once you walk inside and go to the back, you enter a gorgeous patio garden terrace. It's breathtaking with a living trellis canopy and potted plants everywhere. Our waiter Giacomo was outstanding. He speaks English well (and so do the other employees). Giacomo took our drink order very quickly and got it to us just as fast. From then on, things were laid back and chill, and we embarked on a 2.5 hour visit... And it was well worth it. We ordered the beef carpaccio, ravioli with truffle sauce and tagliatelle Bolognese. The beef was SOOO tender. The ravioli was probably the best thing I have ever eaten. The owner's family was there celebrating the ongoing Regatta happening that day on the grand canal and they were so fun... singing and laughing in full Italian style. The family matriarch came over and greeted us, asking if everything was ok. Not once did they try to rush us out. The bathrooms were very clean. If you go here, you won't regret it. :)

Eat in the back garden! This place is a hidden gem with great food and a romantic atmosphere. We ordered the meat and fish three course meal and were not disappointed. Great place to steer away from the super heavy Italian dishes while still being close to the water and tourist areas. Highly recommend the seafood lasagne if you're into seafood!

Tonight I ventured over to Osteria dei Sapori for dinner. I had walked past this place a few times…read moreover the last few days and finally decided to give it a try. Their outdoor seating area is spacious and every time I passed by it was packed. That's usually a pretty good sign that the food is worth the stop. Now one thing I still haven't found anywhere in Italy is good old Southern hospitality. I guess that's expected since I'm a long way from the good ole USA South. But I'm adjusting, and honestly I came here for the food, not warm welcomes and waiters calling me "darlin'." I ordered a Coca-Cola because as a certified water snob, I'm still searching for that magical glass of water over here. For dinner I ordered the Spaghetti allo Scoglio. Sounds fancy, right? If you know Italian, I'm sure it does. I was just thankful the menu also said "spaghetti with seafood" underneath it so I didn't accidentally order octopus eyeballs or something. When the dish hit the table it looked like Michelangelo himself had snuck into the kitchen and started plating pasta instead of painting ceilings. I grabbed the fork, rolled the pasta onto the spoon like a seasoned Italian for about three seconds, and took a bite. Bam. There it is boys. The best pasta dish I've had since touching down on this foreign land. The sauce was hot, creamy, and cooked to perfection. The seafood was fantastic and every bite was loaded with flavor. This dish absolutely hit the 5 mark for food quality. I'm giving the overall experience 4 stars because I had to ask for bread and they're still lacking that Southern hospitality touch. But the food was excellent, the outdoor seating was great, and this is definitely a place I may find myself back at again before leaving Venice.

My husband and I ordered 4 flavors (2 each) but we should've just shared 3 instead. Order and pay at the counter, find a seat, and watch for your order to be done. Loved the wine options. The small space fills up quickly but we were lucky to find a spot for 2 by the window. It was a great spot to people watch the street outside as well. After, walk a few blocks/steps to Suso for gelato/dessert!

Instead of handling it professionally, a tall blonde employee immediately snapped at me, saying, "Why would you put your card down? That's not your bill." I apologized right away, but she continued to act incredibly rude--rolling her eyes, shaking her head, and talking under her breath while processing the refund. It only got worse from there. When I reached for a slice that had been placed in front of me, she barked, "No, that's not yours." At that point, I felt completely unwelcome and didn't even want the food anymore, so I asked for a refund so I could leave. She refused, claiming the pizza was already in the oven and that I "had to pay for it." She then tried to say I only ordered one slice, when I very clearly ordered four. The entire situation was handled in the most unprofessional, hostile way possible. There was zero accountability, no basic customer service, and the way I was spoken to was completely unacceptable. I have never been treated like that at any business. Save your money and go somewhere else.
