Our family could not be more grateful for the exceptional care, compassion, and attention he has received. Before making this important decision, our family conducted extensive research. We called more than a dozen assisted living and memory care facilities and personally toured six different communities within approximately 15 miles of Corona. We carefully evaluated facilities ranging from large corporate-operated communities to smaller residential care homes. After all of our research and visits, we chose Ohana Assisted Living--and we are absolutely happy with our decision. Finding the right home for a loved one with dementia is one of the most difficult choices a family can make. From the moment my father arrived, the staff at Ohana made him feel safe, respected, and genuinely cared for. They treat him with dignity, patience, and kindness every day. The caregivers are attentive to his individual needs and have done an outstanding job managing the challenges associated with dementia while helping him maintain the highest possible quality of life. They communicate well with our family, keep us informed, and consistently demonstrate a level of professionalism and compassion that gives us tremendous peace of mind. What also sets Ohana apart is the owner and manager. In many facilities, management can feel removed from the day-to-day care of residents, but that has not been our experience at Ohana. The owner is every bit as caring, compassionate, and involved as the caregivers themselves. Her knowledge and expertise in dementia care are evident in everything from the way residents are cared for to the guidance and reassurance she provides to families. Knowing that someone with a strong dementia care background is overseeing the community gives us an additional level of confidence and comfort. Another thing we greatly appreciate is the effort Ohana makes to create a true sense of community and family. They celebrate residents' birthdays and major holidays throughout the year and often invite family members and friends to participate. These gatherings create meaningful moments for residents and their loved ones and help maintain important family connections. It is clear that Ohana understands that quality of life is about much more than just meeting physical needs--it is about creating joy, dignity, and a sense of belonging. We spoke to the owner, Gabriela, an LVN, about specific physical issues that my sister was having. She assured us that they could provide a safe and comfortable environment for her and give her the care she needed. We noticed how lively and friendly the caregivers, Joe and Dina, were as they went about their duties cooking and cleaning and caring for the residents who were out in the dining area. There was background music playing and the facility seemed bright and welcoming. The aroma from the kitchen, where the evening meal was being prepared, was inviting. My sister quickly adapted to the structure and routine and said she was happy there. After falling and injuring herself numerous times at the previous assisted living facility, she fell only once at Senior Oasis. Joe and Dina got to know my sister quickly, and notified us when they saw something unusual in her behavior and demeanor. We took her to the hospital and she was diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer. Gabriela opened a sister facility, Senior Oasis 2, shortly after and asked if we would like to send my sister there. It was a spacious and well appointed facility with an upscale home feel. Joe and Dina were transferring there, so our sister said she wanted to go too. She lived there for the remainder of her life - Gabriela, Joe and Dina and the other Senior Oasis caregivers adapted and adjusted to her worsening health and eased her into hospice care. We are very fortunate to have found Senior Oasis and Gabriela and her team. Loren is an amazing cook. Fresh meals 3 times a day and then some!! She worked with my Uncle's primary to ensure he received the proper meds to help him sleep and addressed his anxiety and depression from his recent mental decline and non ambulatory status. He's been at CalOaks for a short time and I already see the difference. He is happy, he really likes it there, the staff is nice, food is good and he hasn't had a single thing come up missing. We visited on a holiday and we had a hard time getting onto the property, but I'm taking that as a good sign that it will keep any riff raff off of the property as well. Great care for my grandma who needed care around the clock…read more That they gave our loved one the utmost care and comfort that we could ever ask for. My father said "after visiting and responding to dozens of care facilities, as a professional firefighter, I would rate this one at the top". They have visiting hours every day, they provide food for their residents, help them bathe, get them dressed. Our loved ones could have their own room or share a room with another resident. They have the living room area where our loved ones can socialize. They had a lady over 100 years old in their care and she seemed very happy. All of the residents are friendly to the visitors that come. When my grandma was nearing the end of her life, her caregiver Matthew was so gentle and kind. He notified us every moment regarding her status and let us know that it was time to visit. If he didn't take the extra step, I may not have been able to say goodbye. She passed peacefully in their care. The actual facility is a house on a quiet little street. It's quaint and the residents in this home get to know each other and become friends.
