Came in to get a check engine light looked at and after a few hours I got an estimate of over 6k saying I had transmission failure that needs repair. I honestly couldn't tell you how true that is but when I asked for more explanation he was very rude and condescending and would not explain anything or give me any real details. I was asking questions about the codes that I saw and what kind of issue it might be, asking if it could possibly be electronic but all that I was told was that I am wrong and it is internal transmission failure. Being a younger woman I never know who to trust with my car but it was extremely off putting for me to get a nasty response when I am literally paying for this information. I should add that my check engine light went back off before I even brought it in and my car drives perfectly fine so I'm really at a loss here. And to top it all off after paying over $200 for this "diagnosis" I get in my car and there was trash and Doritos left on the floor. Super disappointing and disrespectful to say the least. read more

In my opinion, the owner of the East Orlando location engages in questionable business practices. I brought my vehicle in for a minor transmission issue and was told, without any initial diagnostic testing, that it needed a full rebuild costing $8,700. I was charged $207 for a "diagnostic" despite the All Transmission World's website stating they provide a free computer diagnostic. In addition, sales tax was also incorrectly charged on the entire amount for a diagnostic-only service. Long story short, the issue was later fixed by the dealer for under $300. I am pleased to write this review of my recent experience with All World Transmission in Orlando, Florida. While driving across the state from Tampa to Orlando, my Ram 2500 van experienced a mechanical failure. I was still able to drive at a low speed and finally made it to a Goodyear service center in Orlando. Within minutes after an initial review, Goodyear said the computer codes indicated there was an issue with the transmission beyond their repair capabilities. Goodyear mentioned that a nationally known transmission service center was close. I mentioned that I would prefer a local shop. Goodyear immediately recommended All World Transmission. Despite a day full of bad luck, it was my fortune to turn my desperate situation to this local transmission shop in business for some 27 years. A quick look at the shop's Google reviews was reassuring. I made contact with the shop's owner, Andy, a total service professional. Andy laid out precisely what the computer codes indicated (total transmission failure) and laid out a plan for repair that would require several days depending on a availability of parts. Throughout the repair process, Andy updated me regularly and finished the job ahead of schedule. This was great news as I was heading back to home to New Jersey. I took off immediately for the 1,100 mile trip. The rebuilt transmission performed flawlessly. I was told by ATW that I had a failed transmission and that I would need either a new one or have it rebuilt. The latter option would cost approximately $6,500. I nearly went with that assessment but thought better of it and called my VW dealer while my car was still in ATW's shop waiting on parts. Based on their comments and pricing over the phone, I took my car out of ATW. Long story short, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the transmission. A cooling pump was leaking, but that was the extent of the problem. I can't say whether ATW's misdiagnosis was a function of fraud or ignorance, but either way, I would definitely not take your car there, especially if it is a foreign/German car. They will tell you that they are capable of working on all types, foreign and domestic, but don't believe it. read more

I have nothing but great things to say about Andy (owner) and his manager Chris at All Transmission World. Two weeks ago, I had taken my car into another auto shop because it was not running well. After waiting 6 hours I finally got a call that they were not able to service my vehicle because it turns out that there was an issue with my transmission and they were not licensed to work with transmissions. They referred me to All Transmission World since they had heard great things about them. I was very overwhelmed because not only was my vehicle not drivable, my husband was out of town for work and I had our 3 year old son to pick up from daycare. So the next morning I call All Transmission World and spoke with Andy, who was so sweet and accommodating with my situation. With all that was going on and me having to abandon my car in a shopping center I didn't think to leave my key with the car. Andy sent his manager Chris to my home knowing I had no means of transportation and a small child to take care of to pick up my car key. They went to where my car was left and took it back to their shop. Andy stayed in contact with me about my car and did a thorough inspection on my transmission. I was so happy to hear that I only had a major leak. Andy assured me that he was 99% confidant that would fix my problem. I was so pleased to hear such an honest answer because anyone else would have told me that I needed a whole new transmission which would have cost about $7000. I was having a major leak in my transmission and the dealership wanted $1900 to basically put a Bandaid on it, and they didn't take the time to look deeper. After going by All Transmission World, Andy put my mind at ease being familiar with the GWC warranty I had on my car. He took the time to help me through the process and I was able to pay for the deductible on my warranty. HONEST MECHANIC IN ORLANDO!!!!My son is off at college and his car stalled out. We had it towed to the Ford Dealership where it sat for 4 days before they told me that they could not help me as they don't have a transmission tech. I called around and reached ANDY at All Transmission World. He gave me a recommendation for a reasonably priced tow, and within 2 hours of getting the car, I received texts advising of the problem. Unfortunately the repair cost more than the car was worth, and ANDY was honest enough to advise me of this fact. Shit show. I'll spare you the details but miscommunication and attention to detail had my car sitting here for a week. Spent a couple hundred on Ubers to and from work. They had me oder a clutch, which really surprised me because I told them 2 separate occasions I thought I blew my differential. Not to mention 700 in labor for bleeding my brake lines and even more for hydraulics which were fine in the first place. I called asking about the price and they made it sound like it was necessary. Come to find out it's "standard procedure". When I showed up with the parts their lead technician Anthony said "your clutch looked good so I was very surprised you're having this issue" and "I hope this works". Not comforting things you want to hear. I asked again about the differential being okay and he went back to my car on the lift and spun the rear tires and my driveshaft didn't rotate, a clear indication your differential is blown. Meanwhile my transmission is sitting in the floor and another worker is jumping up and down on my pressure plate while their lead technician continued to mumble on about how my clutch and pressure plate look good and he's confused why it's not engaging. Anthony was very apologetic and respectful but I do not know why I let them keep it to change the diff. I should've gotten it out of there right then. It say another 5 days and then I get a $4,900 quote to change my diff. After that I said Ight I'm out but because I wasn't going to let them rip me off, after the fact of all of this Andy tried to get me to pay 700 in labor for the work they did taking out my clutch.... something that was fine originally. And lied about a phone call we had where supposedly I said the clutch went bad, but I told the same story, describing how I thought I blew my differential a dozen different times between their technician and my parents and friends in the car community. It was very frustrating finding the issue with the car myself, after being there 5 minutes of being there abs then being asked to pay for unrelated labor. In the end we made a reasonable agreement, but avoid at all costs. Even other all transmission world locations no longer do business/affiliate with them and will warn you they are "money grabbers". read more

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THEM!! I looked into a used VW they were selling, when I asked to have it looked at by a mechanic they wouldn't let me take it to the mechanic that was literally next door. I went ahead and bought the car and it costed me thousands of dollars worth of repairs so far. I went back to them so they can either try to fix it themselves or buy the car back, and they basically wiped their hands clean of it. Wouldn't even look into it for me. After not hearing from them for two days I called and they didn't know what I was talking about. I finally went over there and pointed at my car and showed them that they had my keys. For the life of me I don't know why I let them work on my Car after that but I did. WHAT A MESS....It took them two more days and when I finally picked it up and paid $800 and had to bring it right back becaause they didn't reattach my windshield washer tank and when they finally did they used junk parts to do it. The bummer was acting funny on some low end shifts so I took it here to ask if they could look at it before I bought it. Here's the deal they did and they wrote an estimate for repairs citing all that was wrong with the tranny. They provided me a sheet to take back to the dealer showing what was wrong. Took my car in because of a check engine light that had been badgering me for a while. I was nervous of the quote I would receive and paid $500 for them to take apart the transmission. I got the call the next day that they would have to fix the transmission and the total was going to run me about $3,600. My jaw dropped from the cost and I called the Kia dealership to see if they could do anything about the problem. They offered the idea to just replace the transmission for a considerable amount less. I was curious as to why this option was never brought up the first place, which sketched me out quite a bit. I called back to transmission world and told them and they said that was another option as well. I did not appreciate the lack of honesty up front, especially when it involves over a thousand dollar difference in price. We got it figured out and I proceeded to have the service done. We will see how the new transmission works in the next couple months, but I'm just glad it's over with. Just be cautious when having a major service done, and do your research ahead of time, otherwise you could get screwed. read more

I took a 5 speed manual transmission to them to replace the seals. When they reassembled it, they put 2 parts in backwards such that 3rd and 4th gears were not reachable. They obviously did not bother to test it by moving the shift rod through all the gear positions. I found the problem AFTER reinstalling it in my honda. They have all the documentation from me about what AAMCO found. The ATW "master" tech PROVED his incompetence, so I had no choice but to have a different business diagnose and fix his double screwup. I gave you 10 days to respond to my documentation before writing this review. If I were the owner of ATW, I would refund 1/2 of the $376 charge. Call me if you want, you know who I am. read more

Zero Stars. All Transmission World informed me that they had installed a rebuilt transmission to my vehicle about a year and a half ago. I had to immediately bring it back because the torch converter was bad. That was the first sign that something wasn't right. They did fix the torch converter at that time but not even two years later, the transmission would not shift past second gear. I brought the car back in and they said the warranty would only cover the parts. The parts were $80 and the and the labor would be $1200 that I had to pay for! I asked him why the transmission only lasted a little longer than a year and he said he didn't know that he would have to take it apart and see what the problem was. So how did he know the parts would be $80 and the labor $1200 if he did not even know what the problem was?! I told him I thought I got a bad transmission and that he should do the right thing and fix the problem. He just handed me the keys and said if I don't want to fix it then I can take it somewhere else. I did take it somewhere else and they took it apart and told me that the transmission had been rebuilt but not completely, the bushings had not been replaced and that's why I lost the clutch on second and third gear. DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR THERE IT'S A RIP OFF! read more
