Virgil is awesome! We agree with all the 5-star reviews. Going to Virgil during tax time is a fun and enjoyable experience. He has a terrific personality, and you can talk about anything! We moved to the area 2 years ago and really needed a good tax guy. We met with two other tax guys and used one last year. We weren't too impressed with either one and I commented to my husband, "Are all tax guys this stuffy???" So this year, I was hoping to find someone who gave me a better impression. I asked my financial advisor for recommendations and he gave me Virgil's business card. I was apprehensive at first, but soon I was able to get an appointment set up with Virgil via email. The first time we met Virgil, it was a very relaxed meeting. Virgil has an easygoing personality and a fun sense of humor. For years my wife and I have been doing our own taxes. This leads to many sleepless nights and arguing with each other over the stress of doing our own taxes. Not anymore!!!!! After staring at the screen for hours and nothing changing to show we owed less money I broke down and said I'll hire a professional. Virgil makes tax time fun. He sends out a worksheet which is very easy to fill out. He requests that you submit all the appropriate forms (1099s, W2s, etc.). Then he we will look for all the appropriate adjustments, deductions and credits in order to keep your taxes to a minimum. He demonstrates a passion for his work and it shows. Wow. So I called asking for virgil and he answered the phone. I recently got married, had a child and have a student loan that left me with some concerns. I had a few questions for Virgil as any concerned person filing taxes would have. I read how he was understanding, offered discounts and "made people feel like family" ..well thats BS. If he was "family" he would understand everyone's concern and be as accommodating and helpful as possible. He offered to see me same day at 7pm no obligations. Right before I agreed to come in I asked him how much it would cost, he said "well 159-189 but probably not over 200 after your discount but I can't tell you how much until you get here" I asked virgil to please hold for maybe 30 seconds and I let my husband know the cost. I'm assuming he could hear my husband speaking to me in the background with his own concerns and I let my husband know Virgil said we had no obligation if we didn't like our return. I get back on the phone and before I could confirm the appointment Virgil said, "you know what, forget it, have your husband file his own taxes" I was confused because I had been polite and was asking a simple question that according to his reviews he was able to answer and he responded, "yeah, just tell him to do it himself" wow. I would not recommend this guy to anyone, even if he was having a bad day that was absolutely no way to treat a potential customer.
