My daughter is a former patient of Dr. Chip. While at his Monument Avenue office today, I have to…read moresay kudos to him and his staff for the extra measures they're providing to keep the office staff and patients safe. This is by far the cleanest medical facility that I've been to since the pandemic. Furthermore, all the staff had on masks, face shields, and PPE garments over their clothes. The staff are friendly and smiled. I'd recommend Dr. Chip for his has patience with the children and get to know them which is great. This is not to say that he doesn't get to know his adult patients because he does. If you, your children, or someone you know needs an orthodontist, then don't hesitate to contact Dr. Chip and his staff. There's a 10% military discount.

Then they ask you to text when you arrive, and you stay in the car until they text you to come inside. Everyone is required to wear their mask and maintain distance. They also take appointments by text. I just love the Dr's and staff here, this is a very pleasant group and their processes make it so simple and easy. They've taken great care of my daughter and her teeth look great! We just got her braces removed after 3 yrs and were getting her retainer now.

My daughter received treatment at the Parham Rd location under the care of Dr Horsey.... While the…read moreexperience was pleasant during the time of treatment, today I received the most disgusting display of professionalism - post care. My daughter received a regular retainer after treatment however with her being 12 at the time she lost it!! I went back to Horsey and it was suggested to go with the permanent retainer as an alternative to her "losing it" again. I paid the $250.00 fee and the permanent retainer was placed. I was told that day, she should continue to wear the tray retainer at nights for a week and we went on our way..... fast forward 6 months later- I started noticing my daughter was beginning to form a gap, I called Horsey and came in for a visit. I was told she needed to have a 8 month treatment plan because the retainer broke and it would cost me additional money. I explained to them that I have a permanent retainer myself for well over 10 years and I haven't had an issue with mines nor have my teeth moved as I don't wear my tray at night ( this was one of the excuses I was told - my daughter was the wear the tray every night) I asked to have someone look into this issue because I didn't think it was fair to spend an additional substantial amount of money after spending well over 5k for the treatment. At this point the Dr and nurses in the back were very professional and understood my concerns. I spoke with a young lady at the front of the office, she identified herself as the "office manager, or office coordinator", I explained my situation to her and off the bat she said "it's my responsibility to make sure my child is wearing her retainer " I explained to her that I was told the permanent retainer should've fixed any issues and we were only instructed to wear it for a week. This young lady was at times combative, rolled her eyes at me and was very dismissive. She even had the nerve to lie and say I received the retainer for free, she quickly back tracked after I said I could show my receipt that I paid for it. At this point I have reserved a consult with another orthodontist, I'd rather spend the additional money elsewhere than to give it to this business.

Still great, just wanted to give props to Victoria! I don't always get her but when I do she's…read morefriendly, funny & professional!

I received total disrespect from the student and her overseers. When the student made mistakes I…read morequestioned it. I was told she cried and complained that I wasn't compassionate towards her feelings. The professor she cornered me and told me to more compassion towards her student. This appointment turned out to be some kind of therapy session it felt more like someone being a predator and trying to persuade me to think their way and not what I needed as a patient. I was very uncomfortable in this small office and being criticized for asking questions about my care plan. I realized these are students in process however they need to learn how to communicate with people and take criticism and correction better. I don't think they are teaching these students that it's more to just taking care of teeth but it's also making the patient feel confident that they can get the job done.

Since this is a dental school, the students will naturally change, so I'll miss my current…read more"dentist", but that doesn't change the rest of the experience. The initial intake process is a bit, Ngl. There's paperwork, lines, and a waiting room that fits about 40 people to match 2 intake assistants and up to 5 payments assistants. The first appointment will need both intake and payment since they prefer payment upfront, though I do like that further appointments are paid with possible payment plans. The dental student assigned to your case will have a fully licensed dentist overseeing their work though they don't hover, just double check your/their progress. There might be a bit of walking and back and forth if you need imaging, just based on the layout of the school. The atmosphere of the school itself is one that fosters wisdom and questions which I love since how else does anyone learn? The student helping me hadn't had the opportunity to use the imagine machine before (or maybe just not [often] enough to remember) but other students were about to assist. Overall, I'm sure the experience will depend a little on the student that helps. Mine is excellent, and I'm sure that's the case for the majority of students. The dentists overseeing things are friendly and helpful without being condescending. Would definitely recommend. The only reason for a star off is the length of time it may take. Not the students' fault, as this is a school where they're learning, but it did take a while.
