My last visit I decided to try the mind spa and that was seriously next level! The synchronization of the music in the head phones, vibrating table pad and what I've been calling "light dancing" glasses, was unreal! I did this for 30min and then floated for 90min. I ended up getting out of the tank before my session was complete because I was ready. So 30min mind spa + 1hr float is where the total relaxation is at for me! I learn best in-person and was impressed with the course, which was brilliantly structured! Everything about the practice itself and how one learns the information was natural, easy, beautiful and I had such individualized attention with Janet. It truly has been the best gift I have ever given myself, and a total turning point in my life. From feeling "buzzed" and constantly "on" (especially with technology and hectic work schedules) to a more grounded, calmer, clear thinking and more "me" feeling in my life. From the…read moremoment I walked into the studio, and believe me it was with good deal of trepidation, Mary Bartel welcomed me warmly, and treated me as part of her well established group. My inexperience and neophyte skills made no difference. She was patient and encouraging, and by the time we were on our backs for savasana I remember thinking, "I can do this!" I have been attending yoga classes at Inner Quest, and a host of great workshops on a variety of topics as well, since that time, and I rarely miss a class. I feel such a part of that yoga family that Mary has cultivated and nurtured. The yoga classes are always a wonderful, creative mix of poses both familiar and new, with a healthy dose of yin and restorative poses as well. My skills have progressed in five years, but I always leave class feeling like I've had a great mind and body workout experience. I highly recommend Inner Quest Yoga Studio where, I believe, a challenge exists for all levels of yoga practioners.

It was a gift to my workplace to encourage older people to seek out yog and meditation. The 1st being a yoga class, which was fine. The 2nd was a "meditation wellness"class.... that was a total disaster. There was room for 10 people in the class. The fist class started with 10 people. After the total disconnect with the clients and a general lack of being able to relate her curriculum. People started dropping out of the class. From 10 to 8 to 5 to 2 people for the last 4 out of 12 classes. It was so bad that we had to ask people to attend the class. After paying Ms. Bartel $1,700. for the yoga class and $1,700. for the "Meditation" class ,Ms Bartel was so gracious and kept calling me a "Liar" over and over again because I had to reschedule some of the payments for personal reasons. She proved herself to be unprofessional, rude, and ungrateful. So, if you are looking to spend money on someone who will be unprepared, unresponsive and ungrateful..... by all means sign up for one of Ms. Bartels "meditation class". I will NEVER hire her again and that is sad.

Sky Meadow has been home to our annual knitting retreat for more than 10 years. We (16 knitters)…read moretake over the whole barn area early in April and stay for 3 nights. It is spotless. We cook all our own meals in the very well stocked kitchen. We find every tool we need, plus serving dishes and pots and pans. There is a large open area for yoga, weaving, spinning. We tend to sit on the sofa and chairs in the corner and just knit. The Wood stove, kept stocked by the owner, Miles, keeps us toasty and warm. There are barn animals just behind the bedrooms where you can approach and pat the sheep and alpaca, and hear the rooster crow in the early hours. There are several bathrooms and bunk rooms for 4. Sunsets through the enormous picture window are fabulous, also mountain views and wildlife. Walks on the deserted dirt road are peaceful and the trails surrounding the barn go through the woods and to a meadow. A wonderful place to rejuvenate.
