After some initial miscommunications about the job, things didn't quite turn out the way I hoped, but Luis, the company owner came out himself to make sure things were resolved. And even though the scope of the project increased, he insisted on completing the job at the original rate (although I'm not going to let him, because the scope had increased substantially, and that is clearly my own doing). When working with someone new, it's always a toss up on how things will go when unexpected difficulties arise, and I'm very pleased in how Luis does business. Six-stars! UPDATE: the job is done and we are awaiting inspection this week. The pictures speak for themselves. We are extremely satisfied with our Tesla Wall connector Gen 3 installation. Luis went up and over our garage with EMT to get to the nearby panel. He had to upgrade a breaker to a double pole 60A breaker and also had to update the breaker that goes to the subpanel in the main panel to 100A. Tesla had sent us a bad wall connector the first time around and advised us remotely that the electrical work done was perfect and that all power levels were as expected. Luis insisted on coming out himself anyhow to double check everything even though I assured him it was Teslas wall connector. Sure enough the wiring was perfect and when the new wall connector arrived I popped it on and everything worked like magic.

Excellent communication and initially a fair estimate…read more However, the following day the technician arrived an hour late to do the work. I was quoted $200 to install a Blink Wired Floodlight Camera and Blink Video Doorbell. Then, upon realizing there was no power to the light switch, the technician just left my old wires exposed after removing the old outdoor light fixture. Just moved in, so I wasn't sure what was going on with that switch. So I asked if he could fix it, while he was here. His response was "he had to call his boss to get an estimate and that it had to be done another day because it was too late." At this point the technician offered to install the Blink Video Doorbell for $100. I guess in his mind, it was half the work, so half the price... Again, I was given an estimate in person, the day before for installation of both. The Video Doorbell is maybe 1/8th of an inch off center. He did a decent enough job. For $100 to drill two holes, I would've liked it dead center. Then the next morning I received an email with an estimate for $525, to fix the power and install the floodlight.

They came the next morning and were able to get everything fixed within about 2 hours. The two were very patient and informative, giving us really good quotes and explaining everything they would be charging us for. They also gave us alternatives that were more affordable to our budget. They had to work in a rather cramped space to reach our breaker and they were very positive about it. Overall, the entire experience was great! This business is one you can definitely trust to take care of your needs. Juan and Danny also made sure to tidy up anything they had to move (as it was in their ways o:) and were very polite and personable in their exchange. They were accommodating to our schedule too! We truly appreciated the help!! Thanks so much! c: Also a lovely note: they offered a year of warranty for just electric! I found Harris Electrical, saw they were a local DC company with great reviews, and decided to reach out. I texted the numbers listed and learned they're brothers, Mike and Max Harris, carrying on the business their dad started. I texted them at 6 a.m. and got an immediate response. They asked for pictures of the breaker and the issue, diagnosed it quickly, and offered same-day service. Communication was incredibly easy and clear, all by text. Max arrived right on time, identified the short, and fixed it efficiently. They were professional, knowledgeable, punctual, and honestly just great to work with. I can't speak more highly of them. This is exactly the kind of trustworthy local business you want in DC. Highly recommend Harris Electrical.

He explained that Logan was stuck on another job. Luis jumped in (had the estimate) and did the work in less than an hour. He showed me his work and everything was working. He explained the 2 year warranty on their work and to call him if there are any problems in the next couple weeks. They'll come back out to fix anything that might happen. The cost was on the high side, but not surprising. I already put them in my contacts for the next time I need an electrician.

The guys were nice that came but the results were not good…read more Pretty much everything they did was not great. The job was to add a 3 gang box from a 2 gang box, run new wires from that box to add a bathroom mirror with lighting, and a new light fixture. First, I know they are not contractors, but they cut my wall up so poorly that I'm still trying to get it sorted out. Paid someone else to fill the holes, but they cut so close to the electrical box and then really poorly fastened pieces back on. A real mess that I still have not gotten fixed. See picture. They cut the wall so extensively, and left me with these terrible 2 pieces of drywall that are slivers and screwed them on a really cruddy way. Second, they hung the mirror off level, and off center. Two parts of the same install they did wrong. I pointed this out to them and they tried to say it was level. Not hard to do this work better than this. Third, they mounted the top light fixture offlevel. Fourth, the dimmer they put in does not work. It does not turn on properly, you have to press the button sometimes 4 or 5 times. I pointed this out when they were here and they dismissed it. Pretty much everything they did sucked.

I have always been very happy with the quality of their work. If you are a Property or Facilities Manager, Wilcox is an excellent partner that will leave you looking good! My experience is that they do high quality work, offer appropriate pricing, easy scheduling and are staffed by professionals in both the field and in the office. This review is because I recently had them do work at my own home and I am beyond happy. I've used them for small personal projects in the past but this time I brought them in to do larger work including a 200 amp heavy up and adding a dedicated circuit for a new stove. They knocked it out of the park! When our home was inspected for purchase 12 years ago, the inspector mentioned that our panel could be a concern. It took me this long to address it. A few months ago Dale performed panel maintenance and helped me understand so much about the power in my home that I decided to have Wilcox come back to do a 200 amp heavy up. Jermaine and Daniel did that work and did a fantastic job. I am so happy with the outcome. Lastly, Nick W came out and installed a dedicated circuit to install a new stove and did a wonderful job. Since I'm a curious customer who asks a lot of questions, he showed me all the components inside the panel and explained what they did. Now, for the first time since we bought the place, I feel absolutely confident in the safety of the power in my home. Based on my recent experiences, I'm planning to have them come back later this year to add some outlets to the exterior of the home and also run power out to my shed. Everyone I have dealt with from scheduling with the office to communicating about estimates and the onsite visits have been top notch. Their staff is professional, knowledgeable and have helped me understand the process at every step. You can rest easy if you choose Wilcox Electric for your project. They're great!

On the other hand, he came out without any spare breakers and had to make a run to Home Depot, so I ended up being charged 1.5 hours at $237 an hour (usually time past the first hour is something like $70 extra), so much more expensive than alternatives.
