After…read morehaving my local mechanic spend three months diagnosing and troubleshooting and issue with my 2008 Jeep (It came with a Mercedes Engine) they had reached the end of what they could do with out specialized Mercedes Diagnostic equipment. So they called Alberta European Motorworks and over several weeks discussed the issue and potential problems. Alberta European Motorworks assured them that they had seen this issue and could resolve it, and as such I spent the $400 to get my vehicle towed to Alberta European Motorworks. As soon as they had it, they diagnosed an un-related issue (Bad Glow plugs) and refused to do any other work until they resolved this un-related issue, at a cost to me of some $2000 to $10,000. The Service manager made some excuse about it having to do with how they warranty their work, which is an outright lie, as I did not need work on the glow plugs, I was well aware of the glow plug issue before i sent to it them, the issue with the glow plug has nothing to do with the engine stalling when it get's up to temperature (which was the issue described to them), so basically the service manager was simply trying to soak me for as much money as he could rather than fix the problem described. So in short, unless you want to be taken for a ride and charged for a lot of unnecessary work, don't bring your vehicle here.

Why? Their staff are freakishly friendly. No one there comes across as not wanting to be there, and unlike the Parkland Mall location, you CAN get an appointment made for oil changes. For someone as busy as me, that's GOLD. I just got dropped off by their shuttle after getting the truck booked for an oil change. While waiting, one of the random staff came up and handed me a more current newspaper, seeing as I was reading one from yesterday. Extremely consistent, and they never let me down. Like all Kal Tire locations, the only knock on them is that you can't make an appointment for tire-related service. But with a free shuttle service, at least you're not stranded when you get there!

I got a diagnostic, and the next day was able to get the spark plugs and distributor cap replaced among other fixes. Ryan noticed that there is also a problem with the cylinders, and pulled a few other mechanics to try and resolve it. Ultimately I need another through test.
