Today I called All Pro to schedule heating service for my father's home and mine. Both of us have All Pro systems installed and they scheduled us back to back as the homes are ten minutes apart, which was very helpful. To my great surprise, they told me my attic HVAC heat pump check would be an additional $100 (in addition to the $118 service fee) just to access the attic. No one has ever told me that, so I guess I'll be looking for another HVAC servicer and just use All Pro to service the gas boiler in the basement. Sad because the All Pro technicians are extremely proficient and I trust their judgement, but $100 just because my HVAC blower unit is in the attic seems unreasonable. I and my father are longtime customers who have spent thousands with All Pro on new equipment installs and an oil to gas conversion. I think they should rethink the access fee and consider a reduced service charge for a second unit at the same location; $118 plus $100 (access) for a quick heat pump check is exorbitant. All Pro still gets four stars for service, but withholding the fifth for the access fee. read more

I strongly caution anyone considering using All Pro Services for HVAC installation or service. My mother purchased a brand-new AC unit from them in August 2024, and it has had constant issues ever since installation. She has had to call the company out for service multiple times throughout the year. Most recently, we discovered water leaking into her basement, damaging her storage area and adjoining gym. All Pro sent someone out who claimed it was a simple clog and said it was fixed--but the same day, water was still leaking. She called again, and they said they'd send someone else to reassess. At the same time, we brought in another HVAC company for a second opinion. That company found that All Pro did not install the unit correctly, causing serious issues including compressor strain and a setup that promotes water leaks. Despite informing All Pro of this assessment and reminding them that my mother purchased a warranty, they have made no effort to fix or take responsibility for the faulty installation. To make matters worse, the technician who came Tuesday turned off the AC without telling us, and my mother has been without air conditioning all week in the middle of summer. No follow-up. No manager has called us back, despite multiple promises. We've been ghosted. This level of negligence is unacceptable--especially from a company that should be standing by its work and honoring its warranty. If you value proper installation, customer service, and accountability, please think twice before using All Pro Services. We are now exploring other remedies due to their refusal to address their mistakes. read more

Just had someone hang up on me mid sentence because I paid for them to come out and fix my AC, paid 400 something dollars and a month later my AC is not working again and they want me to pay another 200 dollars to come and assess the problem again plus whatever they need to fix and parts and labor, and i told him that was ridiculous. I have never used All-Pro, however, I have called on a number of occasions for assistance with making a decision about the need for a visit. They have helped me numerous times and I did not follow through with an appointment only because my home warranty contractors diagnosed the issue and I did not need to have another visit. Yelp needs an option for negative ratings. Bill R. is a CROOK! The technician Jerry came out to "inspect" my system for winter heating on 1/9/2023. The heat was working before he arrived. When he left, the temperature in my home constantly dropped. I realized cool air was blowing constantly. I called the company approx 2 hrs after Jerry left and was instructed to "view the email containing the quote for a new system" - The quote was more than $8000!!!!! The A/C water condensation drainage pipe was leaking in the wall of my townhouse in Montgomery county. Maintenance was made by AllPro for several years. I requested them to come over to fix it (they made the diagnostic earlier on), in April 2024. They told me they could not come over before May 19 (one month later), then, they cancelled the appointment twice without an acceptable reason (no technician available (???)). Last cancellation was last week May 24 and they did not propose an alternative date. I am switching to another contractor for all my A/C maintenance and repair jobs. Used to be a good contractor, but clearly, something has changed over there. Avoid them. read more

I contacted Lowes to inquire about installing/repairing a new HVAC system. All-Pro Services sales manager, Bill, contacted me via phone and text that weekend. The sales agent came out and gave me a complete and detailed diagnosis of my system and thoroughly explained all of my options in purchasing a new unit. He even ensured the system was available so that I can get it installed before the 90 degree temperatures that were coming over the weekend. The installation team was fast, efficient and professional. They greeted me with their mask, laid down a tarp in my basement to prevent debris from being tracked throughout my basement and cleaned up when they were finished. They kept me abreast of each stage of the process and tested the system before they left. It has been a full week and so far so good! read more

It would have been 0 stars if that was an option. First - I know how important reviews are to small businesses, and I have never left a one-star rating, but this is one of the worst companies I've ever worked with. To replace the motor on an A/C that they installed and was under warranty, they charged me $1200 for 2 hours of labor and shipping the motor. The technician who came out originally complained and cursed the whole time he was there because it was hot in the attic. When I called and asked for an itemized bill or explanation of why it cost so much, they refused to talk to me. After receiving such poor customer service, I left 3 voicemails for the president (Bill Royston) and two for the vice-president; neither returned my calls. All-Pro was recommended by Lowes.com and they were among 4 estimates including the company that bought the company that installed the boiler originally. The team at All-Pro was completely straightforward, professional and hard working. The team worked very hard, explained the process thoroughly, helped my understand my options and new requirements under DC law and facilitated the entire process quickly and efficiently two days before Xmas. I originally purchased a Lennox Air Conditioner and Furnace from All Pro Services in 2012, at the advice of the company's service advisor. The total cost of the system was 8K. The unit received regular and routine service as required by the warranty. Last week I received a Code 411 from the unit and called All Pro for service. Jerry, the service technician advised that the unit was leaking refrigerant and recommended using a "sealant" to correct the problem. I didn't feel comfortable with this option because the unit is ONLY 5 YEARS old. As a result, I did some research and found that Lennox has a known issue with refrigerant coil leaks for my model and was involved in a class action lawsuit in 2014. All Pro Services did not inform me about the known coil leak issues. After following up with All Pro the next day, I was told that I would receive a return phone call about follow-up service to identify the leak. The call was never returned, as a result I've been in the house suffering all weekend in 85+ degree temperatures with no air conditioning. Overall, All Pro Services does not stand behind the products sold and is only interested in making a quick sale! read more

My house, being an older house, had a more complicated heating system and pipes in place, but they finished my entire house in just ONE day! During the winter of 2019, we had been having an on-going issue with our heating system/furnace which runs on propane gas. The heating system would attempt a call for heat a number of times, but the burners ultimately would not ignite. Because of this failure, the furnace would then blow cold ambient air and shut down. This happened intermittently throughout the winter season, but on enough occasions to be a problem. An elderly family member who is the owner of the residence contacted All-Pro to diagnose and fix the issue. I had cautioned her not to call them due to their poor customer service in the past. She had contacted them before on a few occasion for HVAC service due to the fact that they installed the system. Several times they have left without fixing prior issues while charging a service fee. Now in this instance, an All Pro technician came out, did a quick diagnosis and found that there were no issues with the unit. They promptly left and charged this family member a $90 service fee. Shortly afterwards, the issue with the heating unit had not been resolved. We then followed up with All Pro to see if they could send a tech back out to do a proper diagnostic and get some information as to what troubleshooting was performed on the unit. The service rep was very vague about the diagnostics and said that if the issue hasn't been resolved they can send another tech out to troubleshoot, but it would cost us another $90 service fee. I let her know that we were not going to pay another fee for them to come out and again do nothing. I let her know unless they were going to send the tech out to do a proper diagnostic without the fee I would like to speak to the manager. We were told the manager was in a meeting, but would call us back when available. As it turned out, the manager never ended up calling us back. I followed up with All Pro again and spoke with the same rep who again told me the manager was in a meeting and would call back. I told her that he never did call us back the first time and again requested them to send a tech back out to do a proper diagnostic without the service fee. She said she cannot do it without the service charge, but she would let the manager know. Moments later, she contacted me back stating the manager denied the request and would only send the tech out with another service fee. I told her if they came out and did the same job they did initially, again why would we pay them for nothing. Fast forward to the 2020 winter season (early October) and the previous issue with the furnace blowing cold air had progressed to the point of the unit not blowing any hot air at all. As it's just the elderly relative and myself that occupy the residence, I had to find a quick solution to the issue as the winter season was fast upon us. Went online (to you tube) to look at diagnostic videos for finding and fixing heating issues and found that the issue we were having was a clogged pilot assembly/burner nozzles. Once the issue was identified, it took all of 10 minutes to fix and rectify the problem. To date (November), the heating system has been running like a champ without any ignition issues. I would strongly caution anyone looking for troubleshooting or repair work on their HVAC system not to use All Pro services. They are a prime example of a company that operates with lazy technicians (and managers) that don't do a thorough job and do not treat their customers with any respect or regard whatsoever. I get the strong sense with this company that they would much rather do the minimum work required and collect the service fee from their customers (while leaving them stranded) or upselling customers on new units to make a bigger profit rather than repairing an existing serviceable unit (which we've experienced in the past). We have used their services for years and have had similar and disappointing experiences throughout. The fact that the manager didn't even have the decency or regard to personally follow up with a dissatisfied elderly customer shows that the problem with this company is systemic. read more

Recommend a hard pass on these guys. Quoted $500 on a repair that would take less than an hour for an $80-$100 part, no idea if it would be successful or not. Shameful. I wasn't going to pay the showup fee, but having agreed, I eventually did. Though undeserved, I guess I hold myself to higher standards than they hold themselves. This is a company I would characterize as a "rip off the housewives" operation. If it's easy, I bet they could fix it, and you won't notice the $220 they'd likely charge to clean a thermocouple. You'll just be glad it wasn't worse. Get it? As is, their tech was mediocre and provided no insight into the problem, though quoted the price, which was absurd. Appliance techs top out at around $160/hour in the DC area, though that guy should be an honest-to-god wizard of appliance repair. A tip for the public, if a company cannot tell you their hourly rate, but that they charge by job, then cant tell you what the price is for a job, you've found a sh*t operation. Pass. read more

At the suggestion of my contractor, I called to have a furnace serviced. The initial service man came out and said that he could not service the unit because it was on the roof. Mind you, there is an interior hatch for roof access. He called back to the office in front of me and told them "it is a rental and the unit is on the roof." The appointment had to be rescheduled an the price INCREASED $100. But ok, I needed to have the unit serviced so I rescheduled. The new guy comes out and tells me that I need a filter (which he didn't supply even though i am paying him $198 for a service call) and that I had bigger problems my motor is burned out and that would be $800. Than he began telling me that my unit was 10 years old and I should look to replace it -that would cost $7000. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. After working with HMS homeowner warranty company (horrible) and having to deal with the multitude of just incredibly unprofessional and untrained people they send out in an attempt to take as long as humanly possible to fix anything so you will just replace it yourself, working with Bill at Allproservices was very refreshing. They got me set up, had good communication, and within a week my a/c was replaced. Called this company@ end of June 2012 to provide service to our central AC unit as it was not blowing cool air. Was told that the service fee to come out would be $89. We were not given a cost per pound of freon as the "marketing dept." said that would be determined by the on-site tech. I was with tech as he tested my central AC unit and he observed compressor not working and extremely low on freon. At that point, he said he could not add freon because "an internal switch automatically cuts the compressor off when it overheats". Was told that he could not add freon as the compressor must be working and if he did and the compressor WAS working, we would probably not feel cool air until the next day. I asked how much would the freon cost...he said it would be $180 per pound!! LO and BEHOLD...while he was yet running his mouth...THE COMPRESSOR CAME ON! He told me my unit could hold 93 ounces (5.8lbs) per the specs. I told him we could not afford to add the full 6 to 7lbs as he suggested, which would cost us between $1080-$1200 but asked him if he could he add 3lbs, which would cost us $540. With him, it was all or nothing. As he was writing up my ticket, he was trying to convince me to buy a new unit from his company. In the end, we paid the $89 trip fee and bid him farewell. MY CONCLUSIONS ABOUT THIS COMPANY: 1. They appeared to be opportunists, considering the fact that many AC units were not working. I subsequently called Sears. The Sears tech came out and added approximately 6.2lbs of freon and the total cost: $471.28. The AC cool air kicked in immediately while he was adding the freon!!. Compare Sears cost ($471.28) to All-Pro Services, Inc cost ($1080-$1200)...about 3 times as much. 2. Their cost per pound of freon is outrageous. 3. It seemed to me that they were more concerned about making money than providing good customer service. Last Friday was hot as a firecracker...but instead of agreeing to let us make our own decision as to how much freon we wanted to buy, his (or his company's greed) was paramount. With this company, it was all or nothing, at their outrageous price. 4. Their technician was wrong about my compressor. I am not an expert in these matters but I found it ironic that the compressor came on while he was basically giving it his last rites. If you are to be greedy, you should at least get your facts straight. And this tech had the gall to discuss the option of me buying a new system from his company. I do not think so. 5. I do not trust this company to be truthful. We are happy that we called Sears and we do have working AC now. read more

Outright highway robbery. I noticed a buzzing sound from my boiler and that the temperature was gradually dropping, though the pilot lights were still on. I did a quick internet search and saw nothing to scare me off form All-Pro, an apparently reputable company. Boy, was I wrong. By the time the technician was finished, he presented me with a $3,500 bill for suggested services. Three thousand was for a chimney liner, which I had never even heard of and $500(after a $100 discount) for replacing a supposedly defective part on my boiler. To top it all off, the technician had turned my boiler and hot water heater off and refused to turn them back on, because of "possible" carbon monoxide issues. When I insisted that he leave me in the same shape that I was in when he got to my house, he refused, citing possible liability. When I asked him to actually measure to see if there was carbon monoxide, he claimed he didn't have a way to measure it. Did I mention that all of this took place on a Friday evening and that I had to travel out of town for most of the next week? Turning off my water and sticking me with this outrageous bill was nothing short of an attempt at the worst kind of blackmail. It also meant that I went without heat and hot water for the entire weekend. While the technician was finishing up downstairs, I managed to contact another chimney lining company who gave me a quote for the same job for $1,600. When I told the technician this, he tried to cast doubt on the second company. His supervisor even had the nerve to call me to offer ridiculous excuses for why the second company's price was so low. Well, the second company climbed all over my roof and took digital pictures to show me the interior of the chimney. Turns out that the over the phone quote was a legit quote for exact same job as All-Pro, just for almost half the cost. Saga finally ends today, as I sit in a warm house that's getting warmer by the minute. I called a company out of Maryland that serviced my boiler, scraped some rust off of the pilot light area, check out the hot water heater, then turned them both on for a total of $270. I know this is a long one, but if I can save anyone from the horrific experience that I had with All-Pro, then I have done my good deed. read more

I had used All-Pro to install a new boiler and water heater so, when I asked them to inspect my a/c system I expected to be treated like a good customer. They gave me a four hour time frame for when they would show up. They also said that they would call an hour in advance of their coming so I could be sure to be home. Bottom line is after waiting the four hours and not getting any phone call about running late I left my house. A half he later I received a call that the rep was at my house. No heads-up call. My heating system was old and broken for years, My son was pleased when he call your office. I then received a call from Ms. Donna from the Forestville, MD location. I was pleased with the great customer service and kindness. Everything was done in a timely manner, in which I was surprise. My experience with other companies wasn't in the passed. On November 20, 2019, was my installation day, I was very pleased with the service that I received once the gentlemen arrived at my home to install my new heating system. They were on time, kind, have great manners, and very neatly. They keep me inform throughout the whole process. They showed me how to use the system and what to do in the first 30 days to received the best from the system. When they were finished, the clean up and remove all the trash and take it with them. These guys are crooks. Two years ago, I called them because my heating was not working and it got really cold outside all of a sudden. The tech came and looked at the unit and said the thermostat is gone bad. I asked the guy how much it will cost to replace the valve and he quoted me $1200 on the spot. My jaw dropped and I asked can you break the cost down, how much for the part and labor and his answer was they don't do that. After doing some research and found out the valve is only $250 to $300 and take less than 30 min to replace. I got the job done for $450 for some other company. This year called these guys again to get a quote to replace the Spark igniter which went bad and they said they don't give quote on the phone. They tech will come home (so you pay them to come) and then will slap you with a huge quote on the spot. Don't give them you business read more

Bought a building in DC that had a boiler and indirect water heater installed by All-Pro. The water heater developed a leak a few months later and All-Pro quoted me $6,000 to replace it with an identical unit. My contractor and his plumber that were working inside the house thought this was just unreasonable if not criminal so they encouraged me to get a second quoted. I ended up buying the unit from eComfort just under $1,400 and that included shipping and the plumber charged $500 to replace it with the old one. It took two people around 2 hours to do it. Total cost $1,900! I had called All-Pro before doing that and told them about the the price difference and thought they might had made a mistake and to give them a chance to correct the quote but they were not interested. I would have been willing to pay $1,000 more to cover their overhead and whatnot but not $4,000. Not to mention that the unit that cost me $1,400 would have cost them significantly less (40 to 50 percent less) because they would have gotten contractor pricing. Avarice is a terrible vice. Six months later (today), I decided to give them a second chance and called them to come and service the boiler. They refused, saying because I had someone else change the water heater, they will not work on the boiler! Oh, well. They will not get a third chance. read more

I contacted All-Pro because they installed my heating and air unit along with a new hot water heater in 2014. My air was not cooling the house so they came out, stayed 5 minutes, said the conductor had ice on it so they will come back tomorrow and charged me 98.00. Came back the next day, ice had melted, said my Freon was low which costs 110.00 and another 135.00 .No explanation on why a practically new system is leaking. I don't mind the first charge, but the additional charge of 135.00 is ridiculous. While they did a great job of installing the system, don't bother calling them for maintenance because it will cost you a lot of money. $345 out the door. I will not refer them to anyone. read more
