We asked if we could pay for them and return later in the week to pick them up because she was going to have a sale and we wanted to make sure that the items were not sold. The owner (Karen Loomis) indicated that it would not be a problem. I went that following Saturday at 3pm to pick them up but the store was already closed. I immediately called the owner to make arrangements to pick the items up. She stated that she might be at the store the next day and she would call. I never received a call so I called her around 2p. She finally returned the call at 7p. Confirmed that the chairs could not be picked up. I asked when the store would be open and offered to pick the rocking chairs up any day of the week that she would be there to make it convenient for her. The owner (Karen Loomis) stated, "I can't give you that answer". Every store has "store hours" even if by appointment only. Asked if there was someone else with keys to the store who could meet us at the store so we could pick up the items. You guessed it- the answer was "NO". Seems to be avoiding meeting with us to give us the rocking chairs. Either has resold them to someone else or wants to keep our money and the chairs. Asked about just giving us a refund since it is a problem meeting with us. Stated she doesn't give refunds. Buyer Beware!!! There are lots of stores similar to this in the Greater Cincinnati area that have higher end merchandise and definitely better Customer Service and business ethics. Keep your money and shop somewhere else!

The auction earned only about $3,100 after commissions of 35% but the move cost nearly $6,500 which seemed very expensive for moving such a short distance into a two bedroom apartment, even with the settling in service. Friends of mine have done similar moves with settling in for much less cost. In the online auction, it seemed as though items were grouped together that were unrelated so this probably reduced the value of the lots. Also, they started everything at only $1 which also seemed to contribute to the low sale values. There have been several items that I was never able to find after the auction and move, including some gold jewelry, a Rookwood vase, my measuring cups, some of my pans, a box of cat toys, and other miscellaneous items. Things that I was able to find were often in odd places where I'd have never expected them to be put, like a gardening trowel found in a mixing bowl in the pantry.
