I have been in the mental health business for 30 years and I have never seen a treatment facility like this one. It is expansive, clean, modern, and comfortable, in a beautiful pastoral setting near vail, colorado. It has virtually every modern treatment modality. They offer transcranial magnetic stimulation. They offer stellate ganglion blocks, they offer ketamine treatment and they offer EMDR. They even have horses. Sensory, deprivation chambers, indoor and outdoor pools, and hot tubs, art therapy, a world class gym. Great food. I only interacted with the veterans and First Responders treatment crew, but they seemed Knowledgeable, genuinely caring and competent. read more

The amenities and location are top notch. Unfortunately the actual treatment clients receive is sub par. Therapists only meet with clients individually 1x/week, psycho-education groups are led by people without clinical background or training, there are numerous gaps in care, and they have been through dozens of therapists and employees since they opened. For full disclosure, I worked at APN their first two years of existence. It has been 5 years since I've been employed by them. Unfortunately it doesn't seem that things have improved as I currently work with folks who have been in treatment at APN and have had terrible experiences. Where do I start... They promised "cutting edge technology", "highly experienced therapist", "personalized classes," and "world-renowned doctors". What I got was not what I paid for, nor what I expected. Did I get a beautiful location? Yes. Did I get my room cleaned and my bed made every day? Yes, and that was nice! Plus, my laundry was done once a week, which was great! Did I make some great friends? Yes! However, did I get signed up for TMS? No! Did I get all of the ketamine sessions that I paid extra for? No! By the time that they put me on the schedule, I paid for 4, but only got 3 because they scheduled me for my 4th one day before my exit, which, for those of you who understand a psychedelic hangover, should have never happened! Did I get TMS, which I had asked for from the very beginning, numerous times? No! By the time they finally listened to me, it was too late! Did I get a highly experienced therapist? No! I got a therapist whose last job was as a high school counselor, and who was so bad that people would literally walk out of her classes, and if they saw that she was teaching the class before it started, they would turn around and walk away! That was who I got assigned as a therapist! She sucked and was too busy reciting her favorite author's quotes to listen to anything that I was saying! My 60 years of anguish went unheard! Then I was forced to confront my therapist and tell her how I did not want her to be my therapist anymore! Instead of being understanding, she started listing off her education! For someone who struggles with severe anxiety, this was a nightmare that sent me into a massive attack! I finally got switched to a new therapist, who was great, but only got one 15-minute EMDR session before I was leaving! Was Dr. Tammy Ramano, the head of APN Lodge in Edwards, CO, aware of everything that happened to me? Yes! Did she care enough to make it right? NO! Having my room cleaned, bed made, and clothes washed was nice. Being in a beautiful area was nice. Making some new friends was nice. Was that what I expected, wanted, or needed, after paying 20K, plus insurance? ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NOT! Do they seem to care about making things right? ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NOT! After seeing the changes in my family member I have to give credit where it is due. My step father and I have healed our relationship thanks to APN. 6 months ago my step father and I began looking at programs for him as he struggled to get his drinking and chronic depression under control. He attended APNs program to get help with the trauma from his childhood and with a drinking issue. He was at this facility for 60 days and came out a new man. Our family must thank his therapist Lana and the nursing staff that helped him during his hard early days. I have been to APN three times and the last time I went for mental health. I have never been so disappointed. Even though I paid $80k UPFRONT, which included my transportation to/from Denver, they wouldn't provide me with transportation because I decided to leave one week early. My own therapist wouldn't even read the letter that it took me 35 years to write. I couldn't stay there anymore which is why I decided to leave. APN wasn't helping me. It was like "spring break".....men and young women all over each other (it was a HUGE issue), men being allowed to eat in the dining room with no shirt on, people doing drugs while in treatment, changing of all the "rules" on a whim (now you can't use a backpack, now we're going randomly into your room and taking your suitcase - even though they'd already been through it), coming in your room at 3:30am and slamming the door on the way out and then you can't leave you room because they lock down the hallways, even though I have seen plenty of times where people just stick a towel in the doorway. I traveled to Colorado because APN had great reviews on line and advertised inpatient ketamine treatment. I arrived at APN Lodge early afternoon on Friday. My belongings were taken away and I was told they would be searching for items I could use to harm myself. They did such a great job searching, that they left razor blades in my bag that was in my possession. Your personnel had no idea if I was suicidal or not! I had severe depression and I could have easily harmed myself and had a horrible outcome. Leaving me with razor blades was such an incredible oversight. In addition, not one person ever came to check on me. I was alone in a room by myself. I was told I would have a roommate "Ava" but she never showed up. I was told several times by the intake coordinator that he wasn't happy that he was called in on a Friday afternoon/evening to assess a patient. I was shown my room and told it was dinner time. I was left alone to find my way in a strange facility. I was told that I would have a tour of the facility the next morning but that never happened. I asked several CSA's about the tour and they promised they would do it later. Saturday morning I woke up at 4 am since I am on Eastern time here in Pennsylvania. I had a panic attack because I couldn't figure out where or how to get to the nurse's station. I was so overwhelmed and crying. I found a doorbell camera and waited more than 5 minutes for someone to come and show me where I could get help. The first morning group I was to attend on Saturday was cancelled because the counselor never showed up. I had no idea of activities or anything or where I could go because I never had a tour. Therefore, I remained alone in my room until 3pm. I attended the afternoon group which consisted of patients listening to each other's favorite music. Still, no introductions to anything. This occurred again on Sunday - no counselor - no group. I suffer from severe social anxiety which prevented me from walking into the main room (after searching for it). It was a terrifying experience for me. The groups of people there all seemed to be friendly with each other already. I had issues with the nurses regarding giving me my meds. My body was on Eastern time and I requested receiving my medication based on what I was used to. I spoke to the NP but nothing was done. I truly felt invisible by this time. A few nights I didn't even receive my medications because I could not stay awake. If I woke up after the "allotted med time" and requested my medication, I was told I couldn't have it. I had one meeting with the psychiatrist who was going to make changes to my medications. I was told I had to see the medical doctor and have labs prior to beginning my new prescriptions. I never saw a doctor, had a physical or had any lab work done. I inquired about the ketamine treatment and was given the run around on more than one occasion. I was receiving ketamine here in Pennsylvania and was hoping to continue with the treatment at APN. I was told that I might have a virtual visit with a doctor but that they couldn't confirm that. At this point, I was getting very angry with the unacceptable treatment given to me. I spoke with TJ, my case manager on Tuesday morning regarding leaving APN. He told me that he couldn't meet with me but if I want to leave that I could and I was on my own. He handed me a piece of paper, that I have attached, naming hotels, taxis and gas stations I could use in the area. I had no idea where I was! I was so disappointed and upset that I packed my things and left immediately. To say that APN provides the treatment they advertise is completely false. I paid over $13,000 to come to APN for 4 days and left with a gas station list for Edwards, CO. This experience was absolutely unacceptable to say the least! I presented there to get help and treatment as your website boasts and didn't receive help in any way. My review on Google and Yelp will not be recommending your facility. read more

My experience- this place is so new that they do not have their act together. Sean sedated me and let me leave. The cops left and so did the tow truck. I dropped my car at the dealership, so far such damages to the body. I was not given food for the 22 hrs in your care. There were no comfort meds during that period in which i could have a seizure. Misleading insurance coverage information - abundantly clear to me that they really only want private pay patients.

I called and was told they would get back in a hour. The didn't so I called back several hours later. The told me my insurance was approved. I called back two more times and was told they would get back to me in 10 minutes they never did. A week went by and no response so I called back and left a message and never heard back from that I can't imagine how they run their center if they can't even return calls. Our daughter started drinking within a few months of discharge and got even worse than she was before she went to APN - and we spent over $60,000 for only 3 months of care. Unlike other places, they did not require family involvement in the treatment and there was no follow up care. Don't let this place fool you. This is a poorly run program where the rules and procedures change by the minute and are only enforced when it benefits APN- If there is a high profile client or a client spending thousands on ancillary treatments, the rules don't apply. However, if a client is only participating in the services covered by insurance (and the 15K out of pocket for out of pocket max insurance costs since they are not in network with any insurance companies), then they will create a rule or fabricate scenarios to discharge you. I had read good reviews for the program before driving 30 + hours cross country for their PTSD/anxiety/depression program. I talked with admissions persons (who are in California and have never been to the facility themselves) and was told false information about the facility, namely that my federally protected service animal would absolutely be accepted, that there was a boxing gym with 3 boxing bags and boxing classes (this is false) and that the gym was open 24 hours (also false). The latter two are minor inconveniences, but the first was huge. I was without my service animal for the first 30 days, as I had 24 hour support while living on campus. However, when I flew home to get my service animal, as I'd be living off site and wanted his protection and comfort, he was on campus 2 days before they abruptly discharged me for having him there. I was told after a process group that he immediately had to be removed from the campus without being given any reason for what he did wrong ( i asked 17 separate times and recorded the conversation) and was told "we cant tell you that". I called the police after they demanded my federally protected service animal be removed from the property immediately and the police confirmed that it was a federal offense for them to do what they were doing and that he had a legal right to be there. THe officer asked that the staff call him if they had questions. Instead I was removed from my next class and immediately discharged without any aftercare, no therapist, no psychiatrist, no anxiety medication, no place to shower, no meals, no place to go and 30 hours from home without friends or family in the area. Take in mind, the owner showed up with a very large pitbull off leash at times, the attorney who works on site brought her dog daily to work who ran about the facility off leash (including in the dining area when clients were eating), and 2 untrained puppies were on site (who had bitten clients in the face , yet my incredibly behaved, trained, service animal was asked to immmediately be removed. The worst part of this medically negligent decision was that their nurse practitioner (who was on site once per week and zero physicians were on site) had taken me off a depression medication I'd been on for 12 years and significantly decreased a thyroid medication I had been on for 19 years and the following day after discharge, I was supposed to have bloodwork to see how my body was handling it. They obviously did not do it. I ended up getting life threatening myxedema from the drastic drop in in thyroid. My feet and legs were so humongous from edema that i could not fit on my pants or shoes- not even sandals. My face was swollen to the point i couldnt recognize myself and my arms and chest were so filled with fluid that I could not get on a jacket. I had fluid around my lungs resulting in the nastiest, gurgly cough I've ever had. I literally could have died from this. I drove home 30 hours straight to get help and care at home because I was terrified to go to a hospital in colorado and get treated the same way for having a service dog. This place damn near killed me and if I didnt work in the medical field myself and recognize how serious it was, I probably would have died. I would think long and hard before you or your loved one go to this facility. The medical care is atrocious and horribly disorganized, some of the therapists (Katie Kostelyk, in particular ) are covertly manipulative themselves, if you ask 2 staff members the same question, you are guaranteed to get differing answers and the program will absolutely find a way to discharge clients who are not dropping loads of cash on ancillary services. I will say the facility is beautiful, the beds are comfortable and the food is very good. However, these are things you can find in any resort. If you want to actually get quality medical care and therapy out of the time you are taking away from your family, work and life, PLEASE GO ELSEWHERE and save yourself the pain I endured. I, without a doubt, left this facility in a worse medical and mental state than I arrived in which is so disappointing considering I put my entire life, income, job , etc on hold to take care of myself. read more

I have waited nine months to write this review to give myself some time to consider how to adequately express myself and "cool off" from my absolutely disappointing experience. Unfortunately, my mind hasn't changed. PROGRAM- Is BEYOND DISORGANIZED. The right doesn't talk to the left so the staff had no idea what was going on. Everyday something on the schedule changed whether it's a group room we were supposed to meet in as opposed to the usual one, times change etc that we were not informed of. Every Thursday from 9-12 was "Dr. Day." You were required to sit around for 3 hours doing absolutely nothing and wait to see if you were on the schedule to see Doctor Schwartz or Kris.. Most people waited for 3 hours for counselors to say "Doctor Schwartz didn't need to see you today"? Hello? Is it beyond the RA's scope of work to possibly print out a schedule for each person and slip it under their door at night? 5 female RA's 8 women at the time. There were never any RA's in the office; they would be MIA for their six hour shift. ONE job- hand out meds. People missed their meds all the time, meds were mixed up in their KIPU system and meds weren't being filled on time. There were inappropriate male RA's spreading rumors about women having STD's and another smoking a the JUUL INSIDE with the girls telling us we should try psychedelic drugs? RA's aren't paying attention so men and women were having sex in hallways (which, I could care less)! But they were more concerned about finding "contraband" (snacks) in the rooms. Therapists aren't assigned to the proper clients. None of the female therapists specialized in substance abuse and are inexperienced. Laura was my therapist and sweet as could be but a complete rookie. I can count on two hands the amount of times I saw her in three months. Lana tries to instill the fear of God in you. Her "tough love" tactic is to break her clients down and damage them beyond repair. There is no confidentiality! Don't think HIPAA will protect you! No No MOVING ON: Women need to take a pregnancy test when they first arrived. They administered two to me that both came back positive. There was absolutely no way I was pregnant but they insisted I was. Dr. Schwartz told me I need to "handle it". I insisted on a blood test and 3 days later, it came back negative. He also poked at my stomach commenting on my ascites one day which was mortifying. Part of my decision to attend APN were due to some of the privileges such as having our phones. I needed this because I was indeed working and they assured me it wasn't a problem as long as I left it in my room. After I was taken into "general population" after quarantine they changed their mind . THE FOOD- OMG! The food is NOT fresh or healthy. 90% of the time, people who prefer to eat healthy were limited to the salad bar. Sample menu- Fried fish, fried chicken, fried shrimp and French fries for lunch and burgers and onion rings for dinner. Taco bar for lunch Chinese buffet for Saturday dinner and lunch the next day is left overs that they try to pull off as if it is a completely different meal by dumping it in lettuce wraps. I had never seen anybody f*** up chicken so bad over and over again. Plated meals at dinner were a disaster. The cafeteria/ buffet style is unacceptable for a "luxury rehab". They have a "state of the art" juice bar that nobody attended to until about a month into my stay. Coffee wasn't brewed in the morning, water and ice tea dispensers were never filled, utensils weren't available, and there were NEVER any condiments on the table that were full. We weren't allowed to get ice for our water from the ice-maker. There is a kitchenette in both wings with a community refrigerator. No one was allowed to use it? The ice-maker on the refrigerator was broken. They confiscated my snacks because there was "too much sodium" but "here have a bag of pretzels"? Snack Baskets were always empty. WAIT THERE IS MORE!! TV's never worked and there was hardly any Wi-Fi. No COMCAST or Netflix as advertised on the website. No one ever got their mail. I received 5 cards at one point dated a month and a half back. Keys never worked and were always being reprogrammed. They spent money on bullshit such as a Hyperbaric Chamber that was used by a hockey player at the time who didn't even go to APN. The indoor pool was broken the entire three months I was there. Their excuse for every activity that was cancelled was COVID even though everyone was rapid tested and staff tested daily. The art room wasn't stocked. Bottom line is NO activities they advertised were available. A sewer line had been broken the entire time I was there and the place reeked like shit. I could go on. I give this place a big F***ing ZERO. The only thing I could possibly be grateful for is I am a year sober and the only attribute I give them to that is it's a nightmare facility that I never want to return to. read more

My therapist Lana on my second session with her broke my ROI and HIPPA laws. We spent the following weeks trying to repair her screw up. She gave me " homework " to do in my room but we never got to it because her HIPPA violation was still to be repaired. Dr. Schwartz gave me the wrong medication for 6 days and I didn't sleep because of it for that period. I had to call outside Dr for help. I was then taken from Dr Schwartz care and given to Dr. Vacaro who promised me the world for all the screw ups then disappeared and ignored me. Then my case manager proceeded to call my employer and tell them my entire case again against my ROI. Leading me to miss 3 weeks of work after I left APN. The scheduling was complete mayhem. And to be honest the entire experience set me back far worse than I was when I went in and now I'm trying to catch up on my own doubling up on therapy. I never received as much as an apology. Lana completely ignored any requests to make up for lost time due to her" busy schedule ". All they said was " your insurance will cover more time if you want to stay". No thank you!! My classes were interrupted by now show therapists and I was told to " go color in the art room instead". Many times classes were canceled too. You decide read more

I can't begin to express my gratitude towards APN. When I arrived there in mid November of this year I was living a by-and-large dysfunctional life, was filled with a feeling of basic brokenness, and felt stuck in addictive cycles. While my life has not been perfect since my return some three plus months ago, I am a far happier, healthier and more functional person than I believe I have ever been in the past. While the program is not perfect, the therapists and support staff are excellent and they have a single minded devotion to the growth and well being of the clients. If I could give less than a star, I would. The group schedule on a daily basis was mismanaged and changed so abruptly, that patients would end up in one room, therapists in another and that group missed completely for that section; this happened numerous times per week. In a month's time, the exact same groups were repeated at least 2-3x, sometimes more, exact same handout, etc. Medication protocols, communication between the clinical/medical team is ZERO and could have caused serious medical damage to this person if THE PATIENT didn't catch the numerous mistakes in time. The countless HIPPAA violations that occurred were so ridiculous, full names, social security numbers and addresses of dozens and dozens of other patients admitting and discharging from APN continually emailed to this specific patient, even after they left APN. Staff continued to violate HIPPA with this person's employer and caused a total of 2 months of lost wages because again, ZERO communication within the clinical team and no discretion or confidentiality upheld whatsoever, even though it was the patient who voluntarily admitted themselves to treatment for trauma work, not mandated by their employer. Absolutely horrible. Homework assignments given to patients by therapists but were never followed up on or given closure. It's heartbreaking and challenging enough to get someone into residential treatment and difficult enough to build trust; to shatter it and provoke those who are so fragile and vulnerable already is reprehensible. There are so many other clinically strong, compassionate, highly regarded programs available to those in need, stay far, FAR away from APN. read more

My son has a long history of alcohol addiction and failed treatment. I hired an interventionist to facilitate long term treatment. Such treatment is expensive, and I was fearful that my son would leave against medical advice. As a result, it was recommended that he go to a facility quite a distance from Florida, where we live, and I wanted to be sure that I would be billed on a pro-rata basis if he left before his treatment was concluded. The interventionist said she knew the owner of All Points North and recommended it. The contract I reviewed stated fees must be paid in advance and were nonrefundable. This was unacceptable so I spoke to the individual in charge of finances. He said he understood my concern and would talk to the "powers that be". He called back and said they would offer a credit if my son left early. I declined the offer since a credit in Colorado would be of would be of no use to my son in Florida. The finance man said he would check back and called me back later stating they would take my son on a pro-rata basis. My other request was that my son's children would be involved with the treatment. I was told that would be the case and the sessions would be done via Zoom. My son did have insurance coverage, so I sent All Points North $85,000 for 28 days of treatment. My son's oldest boy was scheduled to graduate from college in Florida the weekend between the third and forth weeks of treatment. We tried to convince my son to skip the graduation as we were concerned he would not return once he left All Points. Nevertheless, my son purchased a round trip ticket and returned for the graduation. Up to this point, after three, weeks of care, my son's family had not been involved in his care as promised. My son spent three days traveling with his other sons to and from the graduation and decided he would rather continue his inpatient care closer to home, where the boys could be involved, than return to All Points for a week. My son asked me if I would agree to him transferring to a well -regarded facility located 30 miles from his home. We actually would have used this local facility to start with except for my concern that he would decide to leave and go home. Since All Points had agreed to reimburse me and my son agreed to another month of care I agreed and he did not return to All Points. Since I am running out of space the short version is All points refused to reimburse me and will not even send me a bill. read more
