I'd seen Mariachi Arcoiris on TV, and as soon as my husband and I got engaged, I knew I wanted to use them for our wedding. Having an all LGBTQ+ mariachi troupe was amazing, symbolically, but from listening to their music and seeing their performances on YouTube, we knew that they were immensely talented. Carlos Samaniego is their leader, and he's one of the first vendors I contacted - making it so easy from start to finish. We put down a very small deposit towards the final day, where we agreed to have their full 9-piece band play for our guests during the ceremony and cocktail hour. Over the coming months, we'd check in with Carlos on occasion, and he provided a list of the many songs that were part of their repertoire. For an additional fee, he told us that they could also learn / arrange any song that we had in mind. We listened to countless Mexican love songs, old-school songs that had a mariachi-vibe to them, and other classics and standards, and came up with a few very important ones for them to play at specific times during the day. After that, we left it up to them. The day of our wedding arrived, and the troupe settled in behind our ceremony site and serenaded our guests to "Cien Anos" by Pedro Infante as they trickled in. When it came time for us to walk down the aisle, they played another Pedro Infante classic "Que Bonita Amor", a beautiful start to our special day. Halfway through the ceremony, as we paused for our Lasso Ceremony, they played "Sabor a Mi" which was so beautiful and romantic. As the ceremony concluded and we walked back down the aisle, they played the fun and festive "La Fiesta del Mariachi" and then led our guests over to the cocktail reception. While we were busy taking photographs, they continued to play for our guests during cocktail hour. We missed most all of their performance after the ceremony, but so many people told us how much the loved the mariachi - how professional and talented they were. They took requests from our guests, and provided the perfect background music for not only our ceremony but also for the cocktail hour. One of the most important moments for me was the mother-daughter dance. During our final meeting, we specifically requested that the custom song mix we created -- including my daughter's voice recording -- be played in its entirety. Unfortunately, this request was not fulfilled on the night of the event, which was disappointing for our family because this is a night we won't get to redo. We also experienced a miscommunication regarding the monogram request and the deadline for its submission. I had called to request a quote for the monogram a month prior to the event but the quote was never received. As a result, we were unable to have the monogram displayed at the quinceañera as intended because by the time we had our final meeting we were informed that the monogram had to be requested at least 2 weeks in advance and a reminder for the quote should have been requested again. Based on our experience, I would recommend maintaining a consistent communication and following up multiple times prior to the event, as we were told that there are many clients being served simultaneously. Despite that, during the event Carlos was on time and did a good job of keeping the celebration lively, and our guests appeared to enjoy themselves overall.

Charisma/Interaction; I have hired Mariachis in the past and you always get the drunk, the Mulo or the Huevón, These young man and woman were friendly, happy and easy to get along! Flexible; I have a family member that sings very good, they were accommodating and found his key (Tono) right away, I even sang a song and they made me sound like chente Towards the end, I decided to hire them for an additional hour and they kindly and with no problems accepted. I will say that due to the fact that most of them are minors they come with a chaperone/bodyguard who hangs out in the back watching over them. When they arrive, the chaperone appeared frustrated and moody, I told him he could feel at home and eat and drink, I added that we were a Law Enforcement family and the kids were in good hands. He didn't seem to care about our profession, but we're use to that . After awhile, he seemed a-lot better and in-fact he video one of my relatives singing. He seemed like a very nice man protecting the kids I guess that's acceptable but some might have a problem with that. Overall, I would hire them again, and give them a 5 star rating!

Brian helped us initially and he flawlessly planned our whole wedding according to our timeline. What was unique about Distinguished Events is they provided us with a document to add in songs we wanted. For example, what song we wanted to have our wedding party walk down the aisle to, what their exit song was and etc. My husband and I had a few last minute changes, and only a few minutes BEFORE our grand entrance or a few minutes BEFORE our first dances (with our mom and dad).
