I called his office and was confirmed "The consultation is free." 2. When I was at his office, I was asked to provide my insurance information. I asked why since I was there only for a consultation. I was told, "It's for the purpose of the cost estimation." 3. The doctor asked me to do an x-ray during the visit, and I asked his assistant, "I didn't have to pay for this right?", and she said, "No." However, I was informed by my insurance company that he filled a claim for both the consultation and the x-ray. My insurance only covers the consultation but not the x-ray. I've checked with them step by step and was shocked by their unethical behavior. I don't have words to describe the caring and empathy shown by Dr. Schenkman and the entire staff that day, it was like I was the only patient there.
