I had to be my own project foreman because Fackler's Foreman NEVER showed after getting bid, even thought he told me he would be there to check the work EVERY DAY! He lived in Mac and he never responded to texts or calls. I had to call their office to ask them to respond to a customer! workers had to ask me what they were doing each day. I had to do the finish work myself, replace the electrical covers myself too! The woodworker kid was nice and seemed to do a good job, I guess? The painter kid painted 3 small walls and took ALL DAY and came out and said, "oh the colors don't match, I'm going home." An older man came next day and fixed everything, figured color match, repainted it all and was pleasant to deal with. Overall, they did NOT know what they were doing, sent completely incompetent workers and the Estimator/Foreman was the biggest LIAR! My biggest pet peeve was all the LIES they told me. They did shotty work and I would NEVER EVER hire them to do anything, not even change a light bulb!! VERY SHADY COMPANY! YOU WILL REGRET IT IF YOU HIRE THEM!

We literally love him. Mike was as enthused about building our home as we were about having it built. He comes alive helping you make your dreams manifest, and he draws on his experience with all things construction to advise about the options and features you desire while also warning of the potential pitfalls of ideas that seem great but that may not play out as well in practice as they are imagined in theory. Mike works with only the best subcontractors (often exclusively and repeatedly) and does not tolerate subs who shirk, scrimp, or simper. In the front office, Becky entertained my endless questions about costs and draws and banking apps with patience and friendliness. Dave, who took over the project management mid-way through, was attentive and friendly, solving problems and coordinating subs and juggling jobs with professionalism and reliability. We actually designed our home, not knowing a thing about engineering, architecture or building, and Mike made it happen, matching our vision to the finished product in a way that exceeded our dreams and expectations. The home literally looked exactly as we had hoped--only better. In fact, many of the subtle and grand touches on the home were collaborations with or adjustments made exclusively by Mike. For example, he was as excited about our sunken living room as we were. He also saved us thousands in concrete work while simultaneously improving the modern aesthetic of the front view of our new home. When things went awry--as they will whenever work, codes, weather, and people are involved--Mike smiled and said "We'll take care of it; we want you to be happy." And then he did take care of it. And we are happy! Most people would never want to build a house again once they've done it--all the decisions, stress, cost, and potential conflict with a builder or their subs. I will never build another house. But only because Mike struck gold with this one and we are never moving. They then painted the exterior of the home, painted the front and back patio, and painted and installed a new front door. The quality of work is outstanding! We were extremely satisfied and happy with the way they were able to transform our house. They went above and beyond as well, fixing things along the way that were not even on the quote (fixing our sagging exterior fence doors, random trim around the house that needed replacing, getting rid of random unused cables attached to home, installing a new security camera, and doing some masonry work on a big brick planter we have). Communication is constant and they'll fill you in on progress without hesitation. Extremely great value for the quality of work they do. You really can't do better than BNC Hammer for your construction and painting needs.

As in any complex construction project there are going to be issues or delays due to weather, material and sub-contractor availability, etc. The role of a good general contractor should be to minimize these, and to keep the client informed and to get the job done right and on-time. On this score the Ruden's score very high. They have a stable of very capable subs they routinely use so they typically were able to have the trades they need when they need them. We found their excellent reputation within the community (realtors, bankers, other clients, as well as other contractors and sub) to be well deserved. We dealt mostly with Brian and found him to be honest, professional, and in general to have a very high level of personal integrity. If you want someone to build your house in the McMinnville area, I highly recommend them.

Adam and his team took a 100+ year old roller coaster of a kitchen floor that had very little…read moresupport under it and made it level and flat. They added much needed support underneath and brought posts and a new beam into the kitchen. They also added two layers of underlayment on the floor that make it look and feel so solid. They do high quality work, are fast and efficient while really thinking through their plan for the best outcome. They are fun and awesome to work with, and you will not find a more competitive price for your project.

Replacing our back steps…read more The wooden steps that came with our house when we bought it were marginal at best and that was nearly 25 years ago. We had a rickety rail on one side that was removed when we had the sliding glass back door replaced. I've included the before pictures of what we had. Scary, aren't they? In less than two days, Francisco removed the old ones and replaced them with new steps with solid heavy-duty railings. The new steps, with their shorter risers, are much safer and easier for the less steady among us. One of the most gratifying things was how well Francisco listened when we explained what we needed an turned it into a reality. Husband said that the steps were exactly what he was thinking.
