Craig and Cheese who did the actual move were polite, hard working and did an excellent job. My girlfriend and I were moving. She scheduled this move a month in advance. They called and said they would be there a few hours later. They then called and canceled stating that they were short in crew. They said tomorrow. Never have this happened with a moving company before and I have used a few. I wish I could get someone else. We worked with All Around Moving based in Romulus, Michigan. They work with National Van Lines. Our rep, Logan was really helpful and responsive. He helped us get a quick turn around on a quote and getting scheduled. Our packers were great, nothing was damaged on arrival. Our drivers and unloaders, Damon and Luis, were fantastic. They were energetic, positive and super friendly! Only snag was a miscommunication between All Around/National and Montway about what condition one of our cars needed to be in before getting shuttled. We were told the car could have things in it, but then told it couldn't by Montway. All Around/National helped us out by packing our things in the car after our initial pack day free of charge. I'd give 5 stars if not for this little snafu, but I appreciated them making it right. read more

This company (john) agreed to do a job for me, after agreeing to be paid after delivery, everything was set. Then at the last minute, he wanted to be paid in advance. Since I was down to the wire I agreed because I needed to be moved. Then he never showed up. called 2-3 times saying he would be there in a little bit. never showed... and I'm still trying to recoup my money. Shady business... Terrible there were damages to the walls and the floor in the move out and move in. They have lost a table of mine and really not for sure if they ever started looking for the table. I call all around moving as soon as I noticed it was missing but could not bother to call me back. Every time I have called they tell me they will call me back. Finally I was called 3 days ago to tell me a supervisor was looking into it but nothing. I did fill out paperwork for missing table and damages. I think there customer service is terrible. I felt bad for the 3 men that I had because 1 man was the first day on the job and I had told the office that I had 3 large pieces and I had requested 3 men even though the office said I would only need 2. So my suggestion is do not use All Around Moving unless they improve their customer service and show they care about missing items. read more

We moved from a ranch style condo w/basement to a 3 bedroom colonial. Ovi, Chase, and Jeff were on time, and professional. The breaks were kept to a minimum, and they did not try to run out the clock. My husband and I had a storage unit that we cleared out and brought stuff to the new house. They did not complain when we asked them to redistribute the items in the garage upstairs/down stairs. Nothing was damaged, ( including glass) and everything was put where we wanted it. 've had the absolute WORST experience with this company and how they handled our move. They attempted to move our things twice, the 1st attempt we were stood up and the 2nd attempt, the staff they hired were completely unprofessional and it even escalated to the point where a physical altercation occurred on our front yard and racial slurs were used. (Which I have video footage of and have sent to the company) We were still charged the full price even after being told we would be compensated for at least something. This is not a company you should trust or put your trust in. They've proved themselves to be extremely money hungry which I understand this is a business to make money but based on how their workers operate and how they handle escalated matters, it's not worth the hassle and they're honestly not deserving of another $. We just used All Around to move and were very very satisfied. They showed up when they were supposed to and called 30 minutes before arriving to let us know exactly what time they would be there. The guys were fast and efficient they seemed to have their system down with one guy bringing things up from the basement, next guy put it on a dolly out to the truck where the 3rd man packed it up tight in the truck wasting no space. We were especially impressed with their willingness to do things for us. When asked if they could take a mattress and bed frame from the basement to the curb for the garbage truck, "No problem", when asked to help me move a bed over "of course", when they saw my husband and myself trying to move something "I'll get that for you, where do you want it" the quality of service was amazing and they were genuinely happy to do it. They worked from 9:00am to 8:00pm. They did not go to lunch, they took maybe two 10 minute breaks, seriously that was all. I highly recommend them. read more

Just had a small local move with this company. I would not use them again or recommend them. They moved my Mom from a senior living 700 sq ft apartment with 7 cabinets and one drawer in the kitchenette. They packed the kitchen up and forgot to pack the only drawer in the kitchen (which contained the silverware tray). How do you miss the only drawer in a kitchen that small? Not very detailed workers. The move took longer than it should have, granted it was an apartment move with an elevator but if one of the loads was carrying a lamp shade and waste basket, imagine how long the move would take? There were literally 10 furniture items, a couch, China cabinet, storage bench, a dresser with mirror, two night stands, and 4 dining chairs. The rest of the items were clothing and linen items and they still left things behind. So if you're wanting detailed, thorough, efficient movers, this will not be the company for you. The responsibility to make sure everything is moved is shared between the owner and the moving company. If items were left behind in an apartment that small, I would really be concerned for a house move. It also may depend on the crew you get but moving is so stressful that worrying about having a dependable crew should not be an issue to face. The two positive things I can say is that they take credit cards and most of the items they packed arrived unbroken. read more

Terrible Service! I worked with Brittany in the office, and she didn't follow through with a single thing that she told me she would do. They didn't come out to my house to do an actual estimate, but did one over the phone. On moving day the gentlemen showed up alone! One person to pack and move my entire house! He ended up calling a personal friend of his that doesn't even work for the company, and I had to work my butt off helping. What is the point of hiring them to pack your belongings, when you get stuck helping? What exactly did i pay for? The National Van Lines truck showed up to the new destination on time. The crew that showed up to unpack was young and in a hurry and couldn't care less about my stuff. They tossed things around, cramming them into the storage unit carelessly. I had a large amount of damaged goods. wooden dresser, and dining set with deep gauges and scratches. a china hutch completely smashed. boxes of dishes and china broken, several canvas paintings with holes right through them, and a flat screen tv cracked. Will NEVER use this company again. read more

The good news: my stuff made it where it needed to, and one time. They also took credit, which I appreciated. The bad news: I had a very difficult time working with this company. During the sales process, they were very responsive. However, once I confirmed that I would be hiring them, I spent two weeks going back and forth with them (Jim, Pam) for details and while they were nice when I spoke with them, they weren't very responsive between those times. The other main issue I had with the company was the binding contract situation. I was informed, before I signed a contract, that if I didn't use the shuttle in the contract that I would be refunded after a two week period (the time it takes accounting to review and process the bill). However, after three weeks and contacting them, they informed me that I would not be receiving the money back. If I had known this I would likely have hired another company, as I had an alternative lined up with great reviews and around the same price. UPDATE: I wanted to update my review based on the comment below. Again, I was informed by an employee of the company I hired about the fact that I would be refunded for the shuttle fee if it was not used. This is not an "appears to have been a miscommunication" moment, but a "an employee of our company miscommunicated" moment. I would have less of a negative review if the company took responsibility for their error. read more

Contents seen/known to have been loaded on truck never made it to unloading during point to point local move. Owner/Operator's only response to hundreds of dollars and often irreplaceable personal loss was that things go missing during moves. Correct owner's response would be to threaten all three movers with termination until culprit was revealed. Movers worked very hard, but then again, at least one of them was getting paid far better than I had assumed. Glad I didn't tip. Glad too, that I moved my more valuable items myself. read more

First and foremost, the drivers - both picking up and delivering - AMAZING SERVICE. Very courteous and professional. The initial meeting with the sales rep, Jim, also great - or so I thought. When it came down to brass tax though, and my move came closer (within a month), Jim's "assistant" Pam Harrington, was nothing short of rude, condescending, and downright horrible at her customer service skills. First - Jim told me that getting my stuff to Illinois the next day was no problem. So, that's what I planned for, arranging not only the move, but work schedules, cable, and everything else. But, as we started to discuss with Pam, her demeanor was rude and uncalled for. Her response, "no, that's just not possible, we have a 0 to 10 day window, it says so in your quote." And, certainly, she was right, it was in my quote, but it's also not what Jim told me verbally. But, I moved through it - nothing else I could do. I was a month away from moving and nobody else could come out and quote me because of being in the busy time. Once the stuff was picked up, Pam again was very condescending to me, before receiving my stuff. "You HAVE to make sure that your apartment complex lets a van in - that's in your contract. If not, YOU will have to pay transport fees." This was completely uncalled for - first, it was never discussed, secondly, she knew I was going to an apartment, as it was previously discussed. Thirdly, she had the gall, and I say GALL to say "you know, we're WAY OVER YOUR ESTIMATE," as if it was my fault! I didn't add anything more to the house, and in fact, I removed much more than I told Jim I was planning on taking. Yet, somehow, her rudeness portrayed it as "my fault." Lastly, during the time of signing once the stuff had been loaded, I wanted to opt into the optional insurance coverage. However, it had already been prechosen for me. When I called to change it to additional coverage, again, Pam was rude and condescending, indicating "you know, you have to do that at the time of the quote, before they pack your stuff." And again, I told her that I had not been informed of this. Thankfully though, she let me change it. Overall, I'm very dissatisfied with the way I was talked to by Pam, and the inability to even reach Jim one time. I emailed him a half dozen times and he never responded. It was always Pam who did the replying, and after a certain point, I didn't want to discuss with her anymore. I would not recommend this place to anybody, simply because of the way I was treated by Pam Harrington, the face of the organization. read more

This moving company is not professional at all. They gave me a quote and told me that it wouldn't be more than $475. to move from one city to another just 8 miles away. I thought it would be a great deal. NOT.... I ended paying $589. When they loaded my belongings I specifically told them to get everything out of the closets and even showed them when they were in the master bedroom. I need to explain that I'm disabled and unable to drive. I had my pastor take me to my new home and was unable to be there for the finishing of the loading. 1st, they didn't get all my belongings. They completely ignored me about the closets and didn't load any of it. I'm out over $2,000. Second, one of the movers supposedly stepped in dog poo and needed to change his clothes. Well, they were over an hour late getting to my new place. They charged me for the time it took to go to his apartment and change his clothes. I made a claim with the company and I was told that: "I never told them to get the belongings in the closet." So, they didn't believe anything I said and believed their movers. They refused to reimburse me for my items. I attempted to contact the manager numerous times to no avail. This is the worse moving company I have ever used; read more

In my opinion, this company was outstanding in managing our move. When they first gave us a quote, it included them packing up all our belongings. As time progressed, we were able to pack up and move some of our belongings ourselves, and I let the company know how we were progressing. They stayed in touch and were willing to accommodate us as we reduced their load and our price. We still left the hanging clothes and lamps, for them to pack, as well as all the furniture. They came in the day before the planned move to do their packing, which they did very efficiently, carefully packing everything and labelling the boxes,. The next day they packed up their trucks and unpacked us at our new home, 50 miles away, despite the fact that the weather got worse and worse as the day progressed. At 7:30 pm, they informed me that they thought it was prudent not to try to move our piano into the house in the dark, up icy steps, and of course I agreed. They returned two days later and safely unloaded and set up our piano, without a scratch on it. It still sounds great even though I haven't had it tuned in the new house. The movers were very nice guys. Chris, the team leader, Cheese, Ray, Nick and the other fellows were considerate and acted professionally. I enjoyed seeing them do their job competently and I would recommend this company without reservation. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are a total scam! Jim the salesman/owner seems nice but don't trust him. He will low ball the price and estimate of weight. He quoted me a "will not excede price" of 1,847.36. On the load date the truck showed up on time but was full and we were told we would need to split our belongings into two trucks. That should have been a warning sign alone. So the first truck shows up, unloads, gets paid. The second truck delivery was delayed one week, manageable. At least we can unpack our belongings or a few anyway, right?? WRONG! its all broken! Second delivery changes again! Now we are told we have to pay another1,400 to get the rest of our stuff bc they split it into two shipments and mileage and gas still need to be paid. What ever happened to the 1,847.36 the price wasn't supposed to excede? its bullshit! they want 3,100 to complete the delivery. This has been going on one month already. This company was awesome from start to finish! The woman I dealt with on the phone was very nice. The movers showed up on time and packed everything into the truck in a timely matter. When arriving at the new house, the previous owners had left a bunch of furniture on the front porch. The movers moved all that for me without complaining. They then moved all my things in. They put everything where I wanted it and set up what needed to be set up. They got all this done in 3 hours! She had estimated that the total time would be 3-4 hours but I really thought it would take longer, (especially because of all the extra furniture left on the porch). That also includes about a 35 minute driving time. They never took a break, they were friendly and professional, and they were a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend this moving company. If, (God Forbid), I should ever move again, I would not think twice about hiring them. Buying a new home is stressful but this was the least stressful part thanks to All Around Moving and Storage. read more

I moved yesterday and All Around Moving was great from beginning to end. When I set up my reservation they were great and made sure to call me a day ahead of time to confirm. They don't require a holding fee for reservations which is great also. The day of the move they were there within the allotted time and the move was very fast, and efficient. The guys were very professional. The only thing was a tiny scratch on my table that wasn't every that deep it was probably laying against something on the truck, but if I have to deduct points that's the only issue. This is the worst moving company I have ever experienced. They don't respond to calls or emails. I have been waiting for my things to be delivered for 3 weeks now. They do not respond when I ask when they will deliver. They charged a bunch more on top of the rate they quoted me for little things that added up to more than $300. They over wrapped things that don't matter and under wrapped things that do. They gave me a two week window for when they would deliver sent to me by email and no other information. The people from All Around were nice. The quote went well. Even the local end of the long distance move was good. Then they handed off the move to National Van Lines. From there, the communication all but stopped. They never did contact me with a date for the move. As the deadline window approached I had to call them to find out when the stuff would be delivered. Of course, they missed the deadline. I slept on the floor for over a week. While I tried to remain calm and collected during the numerous phone calls, there staff was unconcerned at best and often rude and inconsiderate. In talking to the delivery driver, missed deadlines and rude staff were the norm, not the exception, for NVL. When the shipment was delayed, they offered remediation which didn't being to cover the costs of a move to a big city. They broke a contract, and if I had time or energy, I would have taken them to court. Then once the furniture arrived, several pieces were damaged including a work of art that cannot be replaced. Their recovery was minimal and unsatisfactory. More importantly, their communication throughout that process was as unsatisfactory as was with the move. In short, All Around _may_ be fine for a local move. Avoid National Van Lines like the plague. read more

I do not recommend using this moving company. When I met Jim the president at my free in home estimate I felt confident in this company and I was wrong. I was charged 510 dollars overy my estimate, I know it was an estimate so I was prepared for a couple hundred extra but not 510. My walls were banged and the glass in my curio cabinet was broken. I had explained at my estimate of how extremely heavy the filing cabinet and my husbands collection was, he assured me it was no big deal and quoted me a price that would include shrink wrapping the dressers and other furniture which was not done. Some of the items he quoted in the estimate was sold and we had moved a lot of items the week before trying to make sure we did not go over the estimated price. I was charged 170 for travel and gas, I was not told about this charge in the quote. I wrote the company an email about what happened and how dissatified I was with the service. I kept my email professional just like this review but I have not been treated the same, no word back not even an acknowledgement. I would really think twice about using this company and not sure if they should be recommended on Angie's list anymore. read more
