I was refereed to this company. My LG refrigerator water stopped working, so I could not get water from the door. Also I could not get ice. He walking into the house held his finger on the lock button on the front of the refrigerator panel for 4 seconds, and said OK, its fixed, you owe me $75.00. :) he had it working in less than 1 minute. Mike earned his star by quickly responding to our phone call by coming out the next day. Mike came out only to tell us that our broken down vent fan behind our range would require the original contractor or cabinet maker to come out. He charged us $75 but did not spend more than ten minutes poking around, saying he couldn't do it. We told him frankly "we'd just be happy with the appliance disconnected. It never had to work again as far as we were concerned since we hardly ever used it." We have a decor appliance and had hoped that with his 30 years experience $75 would have bought at least an hour of his time to perform some diagnostic. He tried pushing down the fan but it popped up the moment he drove off. We called him back to tell him however he did not offer to return himself or the $75. We were able to fix it ourselves by drilling a small hole and removing a fuse. read more

Mike was great to work with and very reachable via cell phone (text and calls). He helped replace my dishwasher baskets which are not easy and is very professional and personable. He worked with my family home (wife, two kids, nanny, cat, etc.) and I felt comfortable the entire time. I found Mike via my Home Warranty company after complaining they originally assigned me a company with a 1 star average review, so they assigned me to All Appliance Experts next, and I am very happy they did. I called in for a repair five days in advance. Set an appointment for Saturday morning. Coordinated it with the person who rent the house where the repair was supposed to happen. Friday morning I get a call "We can't make it tomorrow, but we'll give you $20 off if you'll reschedule." Just like that; not even an apology--just telling me and trying to bribe me with $20. I had an issue with my LG refrigerator, specifically the ice maker, so I decided to call All Appliance Experts after reading their stellar reviews. Mike and his son Sergio were very knowledgeable, professional and quickly diagnosed the water valve was leaking from very extensive hard water build up. California water can take a toll on our appliances. Mike had the OEM LG part on his truck and fixed the problem that same visit. His prices are very reasonable and I would definitely use his services again. P.S. While he was there he also looked at our Samsung Washer and Dryer and gave us tips for preventative maintenance. To preface the novella below, here's a disclaimer of sorts: I normally don't write reviews, but because I'm always relying on the reviews of other Yelpers, I figure I should start reviewing more often to keep the good karma flowing. To be perfectly candid, though, All Appliance Experts doesn't need another glowing review -- but they totally deserve it! So here's the story: our two year young, fancy-pants, cooks-everything-better-than-you-ever-could LG microwave kicked the bucket -- or perhaps I should say it was comatose, or on strike. So I called 8 appliance shops for help. The verdict? Apparently microwaves are NO LONGER considered appliances, although if you need a toaster fixed, I can recommend 8 places that will jump for your business. Electric can open broken? No problem; gotcha covered. Microwave broken? HAHA-NO. Click. As a last ditch effort I called All Appliance Experts (at 8pm! and got an answer right away!) and Mike's wife - who is super-duper sweet - got me set up with a next day appt. Mike was able to diagnose the issue quickly, ordered the necessary part, and as soon as it arrived we were back in business! Remember the good ol' days when we used to heat our meals in the Easy-Bake Oven? No? Me neither; but at least a 100-watt light-bulb doesn't cost an arm and a torso to replace! Luckily, Mike's charges for parts + labor were VERY reasonable, which was nice since the bank teller didn't give me the side-eye this time for withdrawing the amount of dough I needed. If any of you Yelpers are looking for an honest, reputable repair shop/man/amazing husband-wife duo that doesn't discriminate toward microwaves (or girls -- "Yes, for the last time, I checked to make sure it was plugged in!"), definitely give All Appliance Experts a shot. I am so glad to have found All Appliance Experts. When our Fisher and Paykel washing machine went on the blink, it turned out, only certain repairmen would even look at it. The single "authorized" repair center in town did not even return my call, but, Mike responded right away and was able to diagnose the problem in minutes. We ordered the part, at a reasonable price, that day. Mike really knows what he is doing, was prompt and professional. The part came in within 1 week and even though he was obviously super busy, he even made a special trip out to complete the job at 830p at night! We were eager and very appreciative to get the work done as soon as possible. The part was installed quickly and painlessly and our washer was back to work that evening! He also left us with tips on how to prevent future hard water problems. Also, Mia, who answers the phone and schedules Mike was very pleasant on the phone and a pleasure to interact with. This is the second time I have used All Appliance Experts. My refrigerator was not defrosting and I know from experience that it would stop working in a few days. I called Mike on Sunday Dec. 30th, just in time for the long New Years weekend. He came out that day. I have an odd refrigerator and Mike didn't have part needed in his truck. He said he would get the part and call me. I assumed he would get back to me after the New Year. On January 1st Mike returned, installed the part and as usual the price was very fair. I am writing this review so future clients know that Mia is a very cordial and helpful person. I called, "All Appliance Experts" to inquire about surface defect repairs on a washer, and dryer, due to damage by a tenant. After explaining the situation to Mia, we began talking about Tenants/Landlord relationships. I told Mia I was looking for a good property manager; She immediately wanted to help me, by making several recommendations to me. She didn't need to spend her Sunday helping me, however, she obviously cares about the people she talkes to on the phone. If I could give them 100000 starts I would! Mia was so nice, helpful and incredibly accommodating. My washer broke down 2 days ago and with a baby I couldn't wait to get it taken care of. Their schedule was booked but they were able to squeeze me in and came within less than an hour after I called them!!!! Mike was very kind, knowledgable and effective. Their service rates was half the price I expected. I hopefully won't be needing their services too soon but I wouldn't consider using any other company. Had Mike fix the ignitors on our stove after some water had shorted one of them out. Mike is extremely professional, efficient and honest. He came to check out the problem within a day of calling him, ordered the part and was back within a few days to install it. I came to learn that Mike is actually an electrical engineer from the former Yugoslavia who now does appliance repair. How's that for overqualified! I highly recommend Mike and All Appliance Experts. Mike made my day!! 12 days ago I got a "new" washer and dryer. During transport, my friend and I neglected to anchor it properly in his truck and the lid on the washer got damaged. This rendered the washer unusable once it got moved into my condo. Although he showed up a little late today, Mike was able to not only properly diagnose the problem with my washer, but also had it fixed in about 30 min without any parts required! He even went the extra mile to reset and rebalance it on its stand so that it sat better in the laundry closet. AND he fixed my bent lid so that it closed properly and looked more esthetically pleasing. Although it cost me $85 to have that done, I felt it was worth it and I was ecstatic to pay him that! Reason being that 12 days prior (the day I'd moved it in) I'd had another technician look at the same washer, diagnose it as a broken lid latch (not so according to Mike...he said it was just bent hinges) that needed to be replaced, quoted it at $350 to fix, and then never responded to any of my calls over the next 10 days to discuss the cost and possible negotiation to also replace the bent lid. This company (San Diego Appliance Repair) turned out to be a complete scam...they just took my money and ran. Feel free to read my review on them if you're interested...certainly not as rosy as this one! :O) So...thank God for Mike and Mia at All Appliance Experts! He saved my butt, gave me back my washer that I've been without for 12 days now, and made me believe again that there are still good and decent business people out there! Mike did an outstanding job on my fridge. I had someone else look at it first and they weren't able to do anything until returning the next day. Mike came afterwards and immediately identified the problem, fixed it temporarily so we wouldn't lose all our food, and came back promptly the next day with the replacement part to solve the problem. I met Mike when I needed some appliances inspected for my new home and felt right away that I had met the most awesome expert!!. He is great, accommodating, friendly, honest, professional, reasonable and genuinely cares about his customers. Also, he is very well-dressed and clean-cut- soooo different than the appliance service techs I've used in the past!! He really knows his stuff! Another 5-star review for All Appliance Experts. I contacted Mike primarily based on the other reviews here on Yelp. The heating element on our 10-year old Kenmore dishwasher needed to be replaced. I left a voice mail and Mike responded a few hours later. I had sent him the model numbers via email. He said he would look into availability of the part and he would get back to me. He called the same day and explained the part was on the expensive side (which I already knew from searching online). The price he quoted me was near the lower end of what I found online. His labor charges seemed very reasonable. He said he already had acquired the part and he could come by in a couple of hours. He arrived a little early. He was pleasant, friendly, and professional. I had put my dogs in their crate, but he said it was fine for me to let them out. The repairs took about an hour. He didn't mind me watching. He did a really great job. He checked everything before he left including checking to make sure there were no leaks. Since the only way to find out if the new heating element and accompanying electronic control card work is to run the dishwasher through a cycle, it wouldn't have been practical for him to wait. He gave me his card and the invoice, and said I should call if there are any problems. I ran the dishwasher, and now it gets super hot, better than before. I let him know via email that everything's fine, and he replied right away thanking me for choosing him. Oh, and there's a 90 day warranty on the labor and 1 year warranty on the part. I will definitely contact Mike again with any future repair needs. Highly recommended! read more

Mia just saved me a huge service call fee from a Samsung designated appliance reppair center! I spoke w/Mia and explained the problem with my Samsung refrigerator, thinking it would be a major repair. After describing the problem to her, she knew right away it was a relatively simple fix. My prior comment focused on Mia. She was very helpful and patient over the phone. Due to her comments, I didn't require a repair. As a retired businessman I was impressed. I wrote a glowing review and planned to use them in the future. Recently, I called regarding my washing machine. Due to weekend and holiday I agreed to wait five days til Mike was available. Mike walked up to my washing machine, moved the drum and informed me it was shot. He then said it would be $59.95 for the service call. I asked if there would be any accommodation since he had spent less than 2 minutes here. He told me everyone does it this way. I don't doubt his knowledge. But, as a former businessman, I can assure him that, while he was within his rights to charge, there are far more effective ways to retain customers and that is not one of them. I searched on Yelp for appliance repairs since our clothes dryer was definitely on the fritz with a burning smell that was very concerning. I'm so glad i looked on Yelp because I've never experienced such WONDERFUL repair service before dealing with All Appliance Experts. From booking the appointment to signing the invoice, the interactions were professional and friendly. We negotiated a repair time window that worked for both parties and availability was very reasonable. A confirmation call was placed the morning of the appointment with an ETA. The repairman and owner, Mike, was courteous and knowledgeable. He diagnosed the issue immediately and was happy to show us and explain the issue with our clothes dryer in as much detail as we wanted (sometimes we want a lot of details). He also provided guidance on preventative maintenance. Repair work was fast and he left our laundry room as clean as he found it. The price for a weekend repair was very fair, approximately $200 for labor and parts. I highly recommend All Appliance Experts. They are a straight-forward and experienced operation. Mike at All Appliance Experts is the best of the best. He truly cares about his customers and will see them through any situation. We had a main cooling harness go out of our 4 year old Frigidare side by side, 3 times within 3 weeks. Mike came out each time, replaced the bad part but the part had been re-designed and kept going out. Being extremely frustrated from this situation, we decided to buy a new refrigerator after the 3rd part went out. This was no fault of Mike's, it was a string of bad parts from Frigidare. Wow. I do not understand how this company has such good reviews, they must pay ppl to give them good ratings. I called b/c I am a property manager and am having issues with a stove at a rental unit. Spoke on the phone with a girl named Mia to tell her about the issue with my stove and to see if she could service it. Right away she continuously interrupted me and spoke very fast and was very hard to understand. Before I even could tell her what my issue was, she was very rude and asked if I was going to be at the property to let them in. When I told her I was out of town and that the tenant would be there, she again interrupted me and said, "Well, you need to put us into contact with your tenant b/c very have a very busy schedule!" OBVIOUSLY!!! WHY DON'T YOU FIRST SEE WHAT MY ISSUE IS BEFORE BADGERING ME ABOUT YOUR BUSY SCHEDULE. She asked me to tell her what was wrong with my stove and I proceeded to describe what the issues were, then once again she VERY RUDELY interrupted me right in the middle of me describing the issues to her and said, "I have another call I have to take, can you call me back in 5-10 mins?" So I simply replied, "No, I am not going to call you back. I will find someone else, thank you." and hung up on her. She then called me back a few mins later (after taking the FAR more important call) and left a message saying, "Sorry, that was Mike on the other line." Like I even know or care about who Mike is. Mia, here is some simple advice when dealing with new potential customers: -Do not interrupt and badger them constantly when they are speaking to you -DO NOT INTERRUPT TO TELL THEM YOU HAVE A MORE IMPORTANT CALL ON THE OTHER LINE AND ASK THEM TO CALL YOU BACK!! -Treat them with RESPECT and do LESS talking and MORE listening I was shocked at how rude Mia was to me and how little respect she had toward a new potential customer. Not only will I NEVER use this company, I will go out of my way to let others know not to subject themselves to the treatment this place gives to its new customers. I pulled my old review of APE to update it. This makes the second service with Mike and he's still as good and honest as always. He's been keeping our ancient GE Profile fridge going for over 2 years. First call he fixed an internal water leak that had been poorly repaired by another company (they patched the broken line and it broke somewhere else). Mike routed a complete new line. Our second and most recent call was that the door started making a loud snapping noise on closing. Turns out our door was rusting out at the lower hinge causing it to snag. Alas, there was no fix other than bending the door bottom to compensate which bought us another 3 months on the fridge. Since you can't replace the door on a 14 year old fridge, it's heading for the recycle yard. Anyway, both service calls were professional and the price was reasonable. To those that complain about APE not always returning calls, be patient. He's a one-man operation and probably has more work than he can handle. That doesn't change the quality of what he actually does on a repair. read more

Since I last posted, Mike himself called me back the same day. My conversation with him was less than 5 min long, and I got the necessary information I needed and a resolution for follow-up in that time. The lady who I spoke with on my initial call also called back some time later to apology. That was a nice gesture, but I didn't need it. It actually annoyed me more that she did because in her apology, she talked for about a minute straight after I said hello before she asked if I was still there since I didn't even get a chance to say anything as soon as she started talking. I was referred through another repair company that couldn't work on my Frigidaire Gallery Refrigerator to All Appliance Experts. Why manufacturers have to over-engineer appliances is another story, but I digress...Mike diagnosed and fixed two problems and then I still had problems. And... here we go! What can I say about Mike and his wife Mia.. They are an amazing duo who work perfectly with each other. Mia is a very sweet lady, and was very easy to work with. She has a soft spot for students, and often times she would talk about her son who previously went to UCSD, and such conversation would make me homesick. Then there is Mike, a very professional figure who truly understands what he was doing. He came into the house around 8:30, and left around 8:45, and I ended up with a working washer. Mike was honest with prices, and told us that him ordering an OEM part would have costed us more, and gave us the option of seeking the part ourselves. I don't think many technicians would make this move as denying purchasers this information would allow them to rack in more gains. Mike and Mia are the kind of service that makes me appreciate small businesses. They are friendly, attentive, and care about their work and customers. I called them later in the day and did not expect to get service the same day. But it just so happened that Mike was on another call near my area. Even though they did not typically service the North County area where I am, he added me to his route and was there within a couple of hours to fix our ancient island gas stove top. Mike was professional, polite, fast, and very thorough in explaining what was wrong and what he was fixing. Since our appliance was so old the part needed to fix the igniter was really expensive, but instead of pitching us on a sale he made the practical suggestion of just using a lighter. He addressed the other issues and ensured the safe use of the stove and was on his way. We felt great about the service and price. I have used Mike a couple of times. He works non stop. He works on Saturdays and Sundays (if it is an emergency) and does not charge extra. He fixed my washing machine a year ago. He fixed my dryer this week. When there still seemed to be a problem with my dryer, he came right out and determined it was the vent to the outside, not his repair. No charge. Mike squeezed me in on a Saturday when my washer was making a horrible noise. Mike diagnosed a clogged drain pump after about 5 seconds of looking at it and gave me an estimate. He unclogged the pump (without trying to upsell me a new pump) and was gone. Total time from arrival to fixed and gone: less than 30 minutes. He was very friendly and clean. His wife Mia answers the phone and makes appointments. She is a bit chatty but also nice. They both worked really hard to get me taken care of. read more
