We had a break-in at our home so we needed the tempered glass in a door replaced. Our experience with this company was unprofessional when it came to customer service and they didn't do a very good job at completing it 100%.
1st - The two men who showed up didn't introduce themselves at the door. I had to ask if they were the glass guys, look at the truck, and saw the glass in their hands, so I let them in. After they came in, my mom asked them their names. Anytime you go into someone's home, you ALWAYS introduce yourself before walking in.
2nd - The inside rug they moved from in front of the door, they did not shake out (we found glass in it), nor did they put it back after the job was done.
3rd - They didn't even bring their own drop cloth. They asked my mom if she had an "old sheet" they could use. SERIOUSLY?! You're a glass company!! You should ALWAYS have drop cloths!!! My mom who just had EYE surgery YESTERDAY had to find an "old sheet" for them to lay down so they could bust out the rest of the glass from the door. They crumpled up the sheet and my mom now has to clean it.
4th - They asked if they could use our black trash can outside. My mom said there wasn't a bag in it so she offered them the small kitchen trash can. They started to take it when I asked them about having their own equipment to dispose of the glass. They said they did on the truck and went to get it. They should have gotten their own equipment in the BEGINNING! Lazy!!
5th - They left a trail of glass outside, from the door all the way to the driveway and into the street. I had to call the company to tell them they didn't fully complete the job 100% and we needed them to come back to clean the glass up. The main guy called my mom to say because they are professionals he would come back and clean the glass. He also told her they weren't a cleaning company. I'm sorry, but if you are a professional door/glass installer, you would not have done all of the above in the FIRST PLACE, and you most definitely would clean up the mess from the job. That is part of the package, that goes with the job!
6th- After they installed the glass, they asked my mom to look over their job. They should not have asked my mom to review their job as they knew she just had EYE surgery YESTERDAY and could not fully see yet. They knew this because I mentioned it several times to them while they were here and I told my mom to sit down constantly since she had just had surgery. They should have asked me tp review their work. My mom looked at the door only so the job looked done. She didn't expect glass to be outside still and didn't even think to check before they left. It is not my mom's job to think of this stuff - it's the contractor's job.
7th- When they came back, to clean the glass up, I went outside to explain where we found the glass trail and they didn't say one word. Not even an apology. Worst customer service ever.
8th- Finally one of the 2 guys (I think it was the helper) came to the door and asked me to look it over to make sure the glass was cleaned. I looked in the street and still saw glass and then went to the driveway and found glass, and went to the back, and still found glass. I picked up the pieces I saw and brought them to the guy and said they cleaned up most of it. I handed him the pieces I picked up and then picked up more in the street and gave them to him. I said thank you for coming back and that we appreciated it, and that I understand glass can shatter everywhere and we'll probably be finding it for a long time. I am not unrealistic, I know they cannot find every single glass sliver, but the pieces I was picking up were not slivers. You could easily see them if you have 2 good eyes unlike my mom.
Now I will say that they did install the glass quickly and it looks good so we're satisfied with that part of the job.
Bottom line, the glass they installed was good, but the customer service was not. We will not have this company do anymore work on our home and would not recommend them to anyone. read more
