Five stars for the price of a trumpet for under $500 which should last my kid through high school…read more The rental through the school was over $20 dollars a month plus insurance so it made sense to buy one. it's great because I didn't have to get a questionable instrument online, and the place the school recommended had a $2000++ trumpet and that's outside my budget Communication is challenging. Not straightforward and definitely not as quick and easy as online shopping. We signed up for lessons. Had a bit of communication issues and the owner stepped in to help move the way since summer schedule is different than school schedule. ( aka travel and camps mess up a regular class time). For $129/ 4 lessons 30 min other friends say this is a great deal. I have no idea if it's a good deal or not, but I really like the teacher. Lots of other great teachers here. I think the retail store at the teaching area should be two different reviews but alas ( dated decor but worth it for the price. I'd hate try pay more for a glam studios which does nothing to teach my kid) Again communication is an issue. Patience and patience and it's worth it

I've never been so insulted. These clowns must have assumed they were stolen. "Where'd you get them? Why are you selling?..." Hey pal, I have multiple instruments and these were two I almost never play (as if it's any of their business). They claimed there were problems with both and weren't interested. Now, I have done business with them multiple times, but they can kiss this customer goodbye! I'm not a thief, but these guys are jerks. To prove these were from my personal collection, I've included a picture of my remaining guitars. I ended up gifting the guitars to my niece.

Were they closed for summer vacation again and just didn't tell anyone? Sorry, but I'm all done here. You've wasted enough of my time. At one time Portland Music Co. was the best in the city. Those days are gone. It's better to buy music online nowadays anyway. The prices are often marked down by 20% or more if you get in on a holiday sale or something.

Hello, I started playing the Violin in the 4th. grade at Gilham Elementary school in Eugene,…read moreOre.Later, I moved to Salem, Ore. I got in a fairly severe auto accident 4 months later. Forcing me to relearn everything. At first, I had to string my Violin/Fiddle backwards and played it that way. The Orchestra teacher at Sprague high was so jealous that I had successfully done this he told me "You are not good enough for my Orchestra." So, I did not play in High school. However, I had a surgery usually only done on Parkensens Patients where, there is a lesion in my brain so, yep, now I can and do play the correct way again. I originally learned in Eugene, Ore. the Suzuki method so, I won't be near as difficult to teach. Just please let me know about how much it may cost and any other info you may feel I need to know. Thank-you very much!!!!

All in all it's been my go to music shop for buying and selling gear. And I can't recommend them enough. Oh and don't forget to ask for the trade-up offer. I went in to buy a bass and a practice amp. I got talked into buying this little…read morerecording/headphone device for the same price I wanted the amp ($160). I was told I had 30 days to return it. I didn't like it and tried to return it a few weeks later. What I wasn't told was that I'd only get $50 as in store credit if the box was damaged (just the box, not the actual product itself). The worst part was the guy looked up the resell price on a used version and it came to about $80, but he then took 35% off even though it's a return. I then wanted to buy an amp (What I originally wanted before I was talked into something else) and asked for something around the $150 mark. He then tried to talk me into an amp without telling me the price. I had to firmly ask what the price was twice before he told me it's $300. Even though I was visibly upset from losing $100 from a product I bought from them because the box was damaged. I finally got him to show me exactly what I wanted. If you go here, know exactly what you want and be firm about it so you're not talked into getting something you don't want that costs more money. Also know that the boxes their products are in are worth $100 so you can't return a perfect condition product, within their return window, if the box is damaged.
