This was unplanned and at a great convenance as his family lives in a rural part of the state! -The downtown Mercy one was awful! I am literally scared if I ever end up there! The nurses were not compassionate or empathetic at all! He had horrible pain management and was talked down to by many of the nurses. There was yelling in the hall from a nurse to a patient as well. My Dad felt uncomfortable to ask questions and request care during his stay. We are from a way bigger city than Des Moines and did not expect such awful care! They just wanted to push him out despite his high pain. No thought or care for his condition or age! WE WILL AVOID THIS BRANCH OF HOSPITALS IN THE FUTURE!
