I'm looking forward to another great summer here! Just one thing recently... The last two times I've been there in the last month, there were small children EVERYWHERE. I hope Future Primitive doesn't fall victim to the inconsiderate families taking their children to the pub. This is not a place for children. I'd love to see it become 21+ formally.

Located right off Alki Blvd and directly across from the beach, Future Primitive Brewing has a…read moreprime spot in one of Seattle's most tourist-heavy waterfront areas. The location is definitely the main draw--you're steps from the beach, with a few outdoor chairs and an enclosed patio area where you can sit and take in the activity around you. The brewery itself has a laid-back, slightly worn-in feel. It's a bit rundown in places, but that seems pretty fitting for the casual, beach-adjacent vibe and doesn't take away from the overall experience if you're expecting something polished or upscale. It can get quite noisy, especially given the corner location and steady foot traffic from tourists and beachgoers. The atmosphere is lively, sometimes bordering on chaotic, but that's part of the tradeoff for being in such a busy, scenic area. Overall, it's a solid stop if you're already in the Alki area and want a casual beer in a very "beach town" style setting--just go in expecting energy, crowds, and a no-frills environment

The newly renovated Dakota Place Park Building in West Seattle is a great new venue run by the City of Seatte which can accommodate up to 200 people. It's former City Light substation, located within walking distance of California Junction, a popular neighborhood with lots of shops and restaurants. The building retains some of the old brick architecture, but has lots of modern amenities such as a full A/V system with video projector and built in sound system, a catering kitchen with icemaker, and comfortable tables and chairs. The best part of this venue is the adjoining outdoor patio, which would be great spillover for guests during the summer when weather is nice. Venue rental includes one staff member, who will stay throughout the event and help coordiante cleanup. They have a great setup with tables that roll into place and then lock. We only set up tables for 50 and left 1/3 of the room for people to stand and mill about looking at memorabilia. They have an AV system that we used to show a video of the birthday boy's life. The AV on the east wall didn't work, but the AV on the north wall did. They have screens for both. The venue is open every Saturday morning to go and look and plan for your event. We recommend using that time in the weeks leading up to the event. We rented the building from 1-6 and our event was 2-5. That left very little time to get all the tables and chairs set up, catering to arrive, set up the AV, etc. If you plan well, as we did, you can do it, but we had to develop a good plan on the Saturday morning strategy sessions. Also, be sure to test your video a few times on the Saturday mornings. That's how we found out, on the day of the event, that the HDMI doesn't work on the east wall. Some thoughts: bring your own hangers if guests will be arriving with coats, they only have about 10, but they do have a nice portable coat rack. We put signs on the steps off Dakota directing people to use the west entrance, which is handicapped accessible. It worked well to only use one door. Parking is problematic, as there are only about 3 spots, but no one complained. The Parks Department staff are very helpful, but they're not AV experts, and we didn't expect them to be. You have to figure out the video system mostly on your own. We chose not to use the wireless microphone (provided) because we were sure everyone could hear us. However, once we got 100 people in there absorbing sound and making noise, we wish we had. All in all, it was super. Hopefully they get the HDMI fixed on the east wall. We had to change our seating plan at the last minute once we found out it was not working (the video played, but kept pausing inexplicably). (Oh, and you have to call and bug them after 10 days to get your deposit back...they don't seem to have any sort of system in place to process the refund, but after a couple of calls we got ours back no problem). Great venue. Great staff. Plan Ahead!

Gorgeous new place on the block!!…read more Stunning new event space right in south lake union/ downtown with sweeping lake union views. Views alone were worth a trip or 4!! Came for the opening of this shiny new spot yesterday. A gorgeous 3,000 square foot event space that was completely remodeled: with in house catering, vendors, event planners, photo booths, musician! And the food. It was like going to a super fun wedding minus the formality of it. The owner was there as well: super passionate and shared the story of how she bought this space sight unseen: took a long process in turning this into a gorgeous space that it is now. It was super cool! And the food!! They allow outside catering too but the in-house catering: Kaspar catering : baos topped with micro greens and mint. Steamed to serve! Poke rolls :delicious! Panna cotta : in a cup! Lisa Dupar catering: this one was fantastic as I've had a chance to taste their food in the past at a wedding. The gorgeous cupcakes, macarons, molasses cookies and stunning cake. All were so pretty! Mark ryan wine! I mean, what's not to love as it's one of the wineries I frequent in Woodinville wine country. My pup baci's favorite too. Luxe Photo Booth: this one was so fun! The 360 Photo Booth!! I've seen them in Time Squares recently as well as at a valentines event. But this one was so much more fun as I didn't have to wait in line or fight the crowd for it. The person that was running it was super friendly and helpful too. The jazz musician was pretty rad too. And they had valet!! Butler Valet: All the friendly guys in uniform waiting for you as you arrived during rush hour in downtown: pretty darn cool. All events should be this cool. I'm only going to events with valet from now on! Ok thanks. Overall, this was such a fun place.I came to check out the space: left with all the food and fun.The space, the team, the design, the music!! And that Photo Booth: all are essential part of throwing an epic event. All events should be this fun!! I guess they will be if you throw them here: weddings, birthdays, corporate events, sweet 16th. I wouldn't mind coming here for a photoshoot: hello contents!!Or just a fun anything event.Did I mention the views?? Ahh the possibilities!!!

The restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly and professional. I began with a pasta dish, three cheese tortellini , crab and bay shrimp. The chef prepared the dish in front of me. Absolutely delicious! The offerings were plenty and very well presented. The salmon, Dungeness crab(served cold), ham , prawns and numerous other proteins were fresh and tasty. The sides were also very good and well stocked. I was able to save some room for dessert. The crème brûlée, apple almond pie, coconut puffs were outstanding! Our server was Joseph and he was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. My entire family really liked Joseph and would go back to Salty's just to have him as our server. The entire experience was great. The buffet price at the time of our visit was $95 for adults and substantially less for children. This was my second visit to the Salty's Sunday brunch and it was worth every penny. Thanks again Joseph!
