When i refused, he tried to charge me $70, half an hour of diagnostics, for checking 2 of my fluids (oil & transmission fluid) without performing the diagnostic on my transmission, i was there to get a transmission diagnostics. In addition, got mad and hung up in my face because i chose to take it elsewhere. Horrible experience, I highly DO NOT recommend. The new shop I took it to informed me that my battery that was already in the jeep was under warranty and I can switch it out if I want or he can get me a better battery (same battery that Risters tried to charge me $480 for), for $250.

Today was the 2nd time something like this happened out there. I took my 03 pickup in yesterday and told Kevin I think the starter is going out. He called this morning and said they pulled it in, looked at it and found the nut holding the power cable on had backed off just enough to lose connection intermittently. They could have just stuck a new starter on and charged $300 or $400. They charged a half hour labor and handed the key back with a smile. It's stuff like that that keeps folks coming back. We were recommended to try Crosnos in Collinsville because of their many years of service . The car was properly diagnosed with a Torque Converter and Transmission mount failure. We were quoted it would be under $800. The car was repaired and promised by a certain date. Perfect! Bob's quite literally saved me thousands of dollars. I had been dealing with an issue on my car for…read moremonths where the car would not shift properly. The first mechanic I took it to could not figure out the issue. The second one, a dealer, told me I needed a complete replacement, quoting me over 7 grand. When I took it to Bob's, the guy drove it hundreds of miles trying to figure out the issue, but couldn't get the problem to replicate. He explained the code he was getting and why he could not, "in good conscience," sell me a new transmission. He recommended I wait it out a bit longer so they could get the issue to replicate. Well, I'm glad they recommended that! He explained they believed it was a faulty sensor, that was it! Just a little under $500 fix, when the other mechanic assured me that it needed to be replaced for over $7.5k. He was honest, explaining that they couldn't be 100% certain, but they were fairly sure the sensor replacement would solve the issue. They saved me $7k. As a college student trying to pay my way through college, that extra $7k will help pay for my education and reduce the amount of loans I have to take out. I cannot thank them enough for troubleshooting and doing their jobs exceptionally well with consideration for my financial and personal circumstances. The care, compassion, and honesty Bob's showed me is unmatched. For any issues in the future, I'll be giving them a call, and I recommend anyone reading this do the same.

We will never be returning. All of this on top of $140 to look under our car to see what was wrong and not apply it to the repair, when the tow employee had already diagnosed in 5 min. They overcharge and customer service is terrible.
