(highlights since about 26) She worked in a bigger salon, then opened her own wee place Connections. Zhara is a brilliant colourist, even though I have highlights regularly, my hair looks natural not peroxided. She never over loads the ends, so my hair never looks dried out. Zhara is also a brilliant stylist, I have had a variety of hair cuts in the last decade all done by Zhara and all looking brilliant. She has the knack of cutting my hair so when it grows out a bit, it doesn't look a mess, it looks like a new style. She will also not let you leave with a haircut that makes you look stupid. You are carrying her work around and she wants you to look good. She understands fully what I want and this is why me and my sister travel up to Cambridge to get Zhara to do our hair. I live in a town with loads of hairdressers and none of them are a patch on Z! She is reasonably priced, her salon is comfortable. She uses L'Oreal professional products. She will not ask a question and ignore you, Zhara has a brain in her head and will recognise if you want her to be quiet or will talk intelligently with you. Give her a try, she is awesome.

Note - they don't take any form of credit or debit cards but I believe they do accept cheques with a guarantee card, although it'd be best to check that! The staff are happy to spend a while going over what you want from your haircut and also give you tips to try at home which I found invaluable. The staff are also lovely to talk to and you never experience the awkward silence. The salon itself is very modern, they have space for 5 (I think!) peoples hair to be cut at once. The only downside to this hairdressers is that parking can be a little tricky but it's one small niggle for a great haircut!
