The only thing I was dissatisfied with was - when she altered my husband's pants, she did not alter the crotch; she only took in the sides on the pant legs. In fact, I might just bring them back in and see if she will complete that job? Truly, though, I do wish more of the good comments for Hem & Sew would be "recommended" because the one Yelp chose thus far as a "recommended" review is hands down a ridiculous review! How can his review be recommended when he did not even patronized the place? He says he does not want to because they support police officers? Police officers are here to protect us all. It is not a political matter. In fact, that Yelp person makes it into a political matter by boycotting. Give this place a chance. It's really a cool little shop!!

This year, I had challenging alterations where my travel/carry-on bag was tearing due to wear and tear. Agnes was able to sew a unique triangular strap onto my travel bag. Her adjustment made the travel bag continue its long life. I highly recommend for any alterations or sewing need to come here. Butler's prices are the best in town. My only con is that if you need service during the weekend. You have to wait until Tuesday to get work done. The business is located in what looks like a residential house. I was given a lecture about how hard it is to remove ink stains as if that's not exactly why I took it to a dry cleaner in the first place! I had to make 2 additional trips because each time, the owner told me she would try again, but the clothes had no discernable change. She was not apologetic and tried to charge me full price. When I brought up the fact that none of the items I gave her were actually any different after she "washed" them, she started yelling at me in front of another customer. I'm serious, she was yelling and screaming at me as I walked out of the store. Save money and time and go elsewhere.
