I tried this gym/spin class yesterday for the first time with Lisa (8:30AM Performance RIDE). Her…read moreclass was great - high energy, great instructor. I had never tried the Spin shoes before and they have them available for free to use to clients. The girl at the front desk was very helpful and showed me how to use them since it was my first time. First class was free which was also nice. And they have childcare. Couldn't ask for more! I wish this gym was closer to me as I only have Crunch HV near me and they only have a couple RIDE classes a week whereas this one has 3 a day (they also have Barre and TRX). They had ~25 bikes in the class. I liked that they had it dark, especially during intense moments. It does have black lights so if you wear white or neon, you will glow. Pricing: $18/class; 3 classes $16/class; 5 classes $15/class; 10 classes $14/class; $115 monthly unlimited or $99 if do recurring. Happy I found this spot and can't wait to try more instructors!

High energy instructors. Clean and Modern studio…read more High quality bikes. Good sound system & positive atmosphere. I don't necessarily agree with push ups or the dumbbell training during the class but that's just me. I'm not going to say if it's right or wrong... most people seem to enjoy it so...so be it. Btw - Check online for specials. I was able to get a 10pack (10 classes) for an end of Summer deal - $100. It's Definitely worth it. Full price admission isn't for me since I belong to another gym and really don't have the time. I would join if I could though. Check this place out.

Water and Rock Studio set up a private yoga class for me for a corporate retreat. Unlike most other…read morestudios I reached out to in Philadelphia, Water and Rock was extremely responsive and easy to work with. The instructor and the class were great and I would work with them again.

I've had a great experience with Japheth at Water and Rock Studio's other location in Chestnut Hill…read moreand highly recommend them (looks like the same services are offered in this new Glenside location). They are worth your time and money, but be forewarned as a side effect you will probably become too small for your wardrobe and need to invest in some new clothes! ;-) Prior to Water and Rock Studio, I was an avid bicyclist, runner, and amateur sports car racer, but suffered a major injury while cycling that required an extended period of inactivity and rehabilitation. I also had a pretty weak core and not much upper body strength. Following physical therapy / rehab for a shattered clavicle (now plated & screwed back together), I wanted to increase core and upper body strength, build endurance, increase flexibility, and learn yoga. After an initial meeting, we also identified a need to reduce my stress level and take steps improve my nutrition. My regular one on one sessions tend to check in on personal health, stress levels, and nutrition, and then engage in a wide variety of functional fitness work. It is always changing, so you never get bored or find it repetitive. This can't be understated, as I hated trying to go to a traditional gym and using whatever machines were available - that never worked for me. Reflecting back on the last two years of working with Water and Rock studio, I have to say I have been highly impressed with the result, and it has been worth every penny spent and every minute invested personally. I've lost 5 inches off my waist and reduced body fat by 1/3. Feeling great overall! That said, the results depend on **your** commitment and willingness to try new things and focus on fitness and nutrition every week between your sessions. I am now stronger and in better condition that before my injury, my nutrition has improved, my health has improved, I have learned and regularly practice yoga, and my stress level has diminished. I have not felt this good in years, and friends, family, and co-workers have all noticed. I highly recommend Japheth and Water and Rock Studio - give them a try and see what you think!
