I originally purchased the 5 classes. I really liked the first class and asked if I could upgrade to the 10 classes. I was able to do this with no problem, which was quite refreshing. The studio is small, but has everything you need including the hot yoga option, lockers, mats, bathrooms, a shower, steam area, private massage room, and reception area with seating. There is also a refrigerator with water bottles I suppose are for purchase, which is good to know if you forget your water. The studio room is rather small. I've never seen the accordion doors shut, which is a good thing, because the room is small as it is...but there is the option for 2 events to go on at once. There is a pleasant smell throughout the studio, to my relief. It is a well taken care of studio aside for the bathrooms which could use some improvements. Overall though, I really like the vibe of the studio...smells nice...dimly lit...nice hardwood floor...mirrors. There are several classes offered 7 days a week, although a few more added to each day's offerings would be nice. I also like that there are some free seminars offered, as well as some special holiday events (additional fee, but nice to have that option). Teachers are great! I especially like the hot yoga class-an added luxury was at the end when the instructor sprayed a calming spray near us if we so chose...helped calm the mind. Receptionists are helpful and responsive, even to emails. I was impressed and will continue to practice here.

However, tan instructor Doree whose class I took was more than inappropriate and out of line more times than not. Her workouts were very good however, instructors should use pearls of wisdom and relaxation stories and techniques, not revenge stories and cursing as Doree did. I wonder if the owners are aware of her behavior.....

I truly enjoy my workout experience at Pivotal Pilates. From the moment I walked in for my three…read moreintroductory sessions with Jen I knew this would be a great place. Jen was amazing at showing me the basics of Pilates and helping me find reformer classes that would suite my needs. Susan and her instructors have a wonderful disposition and are extremely skillful instructors. When initially starting I had a lot of body and self confidence issues since I had gained an extreme amount of weight. I was not comfortable with how I looked; however, never once did I feel out of place or uncomfortable. I love the intimacy of the classes, knowledge of the instructors and the welcomeness of the studio. Since my journey I've attend several group classes with various instructors and personal sessions with Susan. I've enjoyed learning more about my body, what works best for my body even with health challenges and overall body movement at Pivotal. I highly recommend this studio.

I enrolled in eight classes per month for $250. Prior to my enrollment, I clearly communicated to…read morethe owner, Jennifer, that my work commitments in the northern area of New Jersey would make it challenging for me to attend classes regularly. She assured me that unused classes would roll over each month, which influenced my decision to sign up. I have consistently paid my monthly dues, and as expected, there have been instances where I could not attend, resulting in accrued classes. Recently, my membership was suspended because the management deemed it unethical to continue charging me while I was not attending. I conveyed to Donna, the manager I have not yet met, that I am willing to continue paying. However, their primary concern seems to be my accrued classes, for which I have already paid. They informed me that I would only regain access to my accrued classes if I re-enrolled, limiting my ability to utilize these classes to a specific timeframe. I find it highly unethical that I am required to sign up again to access my accrued classes (in a specific time frame), while my new membership will continue to accrue additional classes. This approach demonstrates a lack of respect for clients and prioritizes financial gain over customer satisfaction. The business practices at this pilates studio are subpar, with even former employees highlighting a lack of respect. While they offer standard pilates classes, there is nothing exceptional about the experience. Instructors frequently change without prior notification, and clients are often spoken to in a condescending manner. I would prefer to invest my $250 in a more professional studio.

Just back from one of my last of 10 sessions as a private client and feel so blessed. Today, we recalled my goals. We talked about the lessons learned. The conversation was sweet. Nicole is someone who is exceptional at her work. I couldn't have picked a better companion on this journey. She is wise, loving and caring. She sees me. What a gift!.

I had been in Survival Mode for so long that I became disconnected from my life. I no longer…read morerecognized myself, and I could not imagine a future beyond the day that I was trying to just get through. Knowing that major life changes needed to be made, but fearing a big leap into the unknown, I began practicing yoga. That practice led me to a couple of workshops that Nicole taught and those workshops led me to a six-month journey of re-engaging with my life, under Nicole's kind and patient guidance. Using a collaborative approach, Nicole started our sessions by having me create a vision for my life, beyond "what kind of life would I live if I won the Powerball". This is not an essay that languishes in my notebook, to be re-read occasionally: it is a detailed, living document for a life that I was able to begin creating and living immediately, using the resources and talents that I have, while planning and building the full life that I envision. Nicole incorporated kundalini-based yoga and meditation into my daily routine, helping to bring my awareness to how I react--mentally and physically--to experiences throughout my day. With this practice, I began to unwind decades of negative messaging that had left me frozen in place and falsely comforted by the stagnation that I had convinced myself was stability. Nicole challenged me every week to identify and take a step in the direction of the life that I envision. Some weeks those were baby steps and some weeks those were jumps, but each movement forward was celebrated and built upon. And some weeks I fell flat on my face, but Nicole was there to spot me as I picked myself up and dusted myself off. During the course of our sessions, the long-range parts of my vision suddenly scaled much larger than I had originally imagined, and took on a sense of urgency. Before working with Nicole, I likely would have dismissed this as impossible, and scrapped that part of my vision for something much more simple. Instead, these changes are evolving from my on-paper vision into a real plan. I am so grateful that Nicole appeared in my life at a time when I needed someone to help me clear away the old thoughts and patterns that were holding me back. She guided me beyond dreaming of a better life to building that life while I'm living it. Instead of allowing a fear of failure turn me to stone, I can't wait to see what I come up with next!
