I originally purchased the 5 classes. I really liked the first class and asked if I could upgrade to the 10 classes. I was able to do this with no problem, which was quite refreshing. The studio is small, but has everything you need including the hot yoga option, lockers, mats, bathrooms, a shower, steam area, private massage room, and reception area with seating. There is also a refrigerator with water bottles I suppose are for purchase, which is good to know if you forget your water. The studio room is rather small. I've never seen the accordion doors shut, which is a good thing, because the room is small as it is...but there is the option for 2 events to go on at once. There is a pleasant smell throughout the studio, to my relief. It is a well taken care of studio aside for the bathrooms which could use some improvements. Overall though, I really like the vibe of the studio...smells nice...dimly lit...nice hardwood floor...mirrors. There are several classes offered 7 days a week, although a few more added to each day's offerings would be nice. I also like that there are some free seminars offered, as well as some special holiday events (additional fee, but nice to have that option). Teachers are great! I especially like the hot yoga class-an added luxury was at the end when the instructor sprayed a calming spray near us if we so chose...helped calm the mind. Receptionists are helpful and responsive, even to emails. I was impressed and will continue to practice here.

Her workouts were very good however, instructors should use pearls of wisdom and relaxation stories and techniques, not revenge stories and cursing as Doree did. As a New Yorker, I am used to yoga studios that operate like big, impersonal businesses and pack students into tight spaces, but SPY showed me how yoga is really supposed to be done! The studio is run by two friendly sisters, who take a genuine interest in their students' yoga practices and lives. They have created a warm community and a welcoming yoga practice. Fun music plays during class and the instructor demonstrates how to do all of the poses and helps students on an individual level. It is clear that the instructor has been practicing yoga and teaching it for years! She really makes her students feel comfortable and at home, especially for me as a newcomer to this studio. The yoga studio itself is a private open space with high ceilings, nice hard wood floors, dim lighting, and is very clean. The owners seem to be very receptive to feedback and special requests. Based on popular demand, they offer cooking classes, summer retreats, etc. I definitely plan to return to the studio and partake in other fun activities these ladies have to offer! At Pearl Yoga & Fitness I never feel intimidated or not advanced enough which I am sure we have all felt at some point at other studios. You will not find that here- friendly classmates, knowledgeable teachers, and a stress free zone. They are building a community for the average person that wants to get out and move but is not expected to be extremely flexible or overly dedicated. Another great thing I found was that the teachers will work with you on any muscle aches or tension you may having throughout your body. I was not comfortable with how I looked; however, never once did I feel out of place or uncomfortable. I love the intimacy of the classes, knowledge of the instructors and the welcomeness of the studio. Since my journey I've attend several group classes with various instructors and personal sessions with Susan. I've enjoyed learning more about my body, what works best for my body even with health challenges and overall body movement at Pivotal. I highly recommend this studio.

She assured me that unused classes would roll over each month, which influenced my decision to sign up. I have consistently paid my monthly dues, and as expected, there have been instances where I could not attend, resulting in accrued classes. Recently, my membership was suspended because the management deemed it unethical to continue charging me while I was not attending. I conveyed to Donna, the manager I have not yet met, that I am willing to continue paying. However, their primary concern seems to be my accrued classes, for which I have already paid. They informed me that I would only regain access to my accrued classes if I re-enrolled, limiting my ability to utilize these classes to a specific timeframe. I find it highly unethical that I am required to sign up again to access my accrued classes (in a specific time frame), while my new membership will continue to accrue additional classes. This approach demonstrates a lack of respect for clients and prioritizes financial gain over customer satisfaction. The business practices at this pilates studio are subpar, with even former employees highlighting a lack of respect. While they offer standard pilates classes, there is nothing exceptional about the experience. Instructors frequently change without prior notification, and clients are often spoken to in a condescending manner. I would prefer to invest my $250 in a more professional studio.

They also have a wide variety of classes and in the evening so I can make it after work. My absolute favorite instructor K teaches here and she's literally a yoga angel from heaven and offers a challenging class that is all at the same time reflective and respectful of everyone's needs and has a real air of fun. The class schedule at Blue Moon is bigger, with more offerings than other studios, both in terms of the number and the types of classes they offer. New students be aware - they offer a special of 4 classes for $40, quite a deal for the area! Other class packages are also relatively reasonably priced, and the owner and staff are extremely friendly and eager to work with whatever your special request is. The studio itself is a bit on the smaller side, with curtained windows on two sides. So, no mirror, if you're looking for that. But if you'd rather avoid a mirror while practicing, or find that a mirror interferes with balance in some poses - this is perfect! Both times I've been so far the classes have been at max or close to max capacity - I wonder if this means they may outgrow this space? Hmmm.
