While I was doubled over in pain…read moreI was searching for nearby places to be seen quickly, I'm still new in this area and know no better. Urgent care is urgent care, doesn't matter who is giving the care. The pain was extraordinary and I was hoping to be seen and given something quickly as it was not subsiding. I got here, signed in, and took a seat. Finally called to the desk and do all my check in processing with ID and insurance card. Then I waited again. The one good thing about this place is they at least tell you when you will be seen with screens and with text messaging. I get back, talk with the doctor, and get taken for an x-ray. Come back to the room and wait a few minutes. Doctor, who was lovely by the way, came back in and gave me the verdict. It was kind of what I was expecting. The doctor wrote some prescription and sent them off to the pharmacy. She also gave me instructions on what to do for follow up. Turns out what she suspected was what was confirmed. But I came back here again at a later date as I got hit with COVID. Yes, it is still around, and yes you can still catch it. I only came here to confirm it so that I could inform my work why I would be working from home. This time, it wasn't so pleasant of a visit. They weren't busy, but they left me wait in the waiting room forever and a day. Kind of brushed me off. I know we are all tired of it, but a little bit of compassion could have been put forth.

The check in is a breeze. The wait time to see a doctor is astronomically long!! Other locations don't have the same wait times, so I don't get what's going on here. And all the time you get with one of their doctors is like 5-10mins. Make it make sense.

So, when my wife needed to see an orthopedist after a car accident, we wanted go see Dr. Kunec. It is hard to comprehend the way I was treated by the office staff. But, suffice it to say, I would never recommend anyone go here, ever. We called to make an appointment and the women on the phone said we would need the insurance claim number first, since it was a car accident. I tried to explain to her that my wife did not have personal injury protection coverage and there was no claim through her insurance company, but she repeatedly talked over me and said she needed a claim number. After that I asked to speak to her manager and spoke to someone named Jennifer. I said "Hello" and Jennifer immediately cut me off and said "Everything the other women explained to you is our policy." I couldn't get a word in edgewise. She rambled on about how they were running a business and needed to make sure they got paid. When I finally was able to explain that my wife did not have PIP coverage, she said, "oh well you can make an appointment then, once we have a letter from her insurance company saying that." I explained that my wife was in pain, and asked if we could just make the appointment with Dr. Kunec, and then bring the letter. She told me that Dr. Kunec no longer saw car accident patients anyway. I asked if I could just speak to him on the phone. I wanted to explain that my wife had no PIP coverage, and that our health insurance was already handling all of her claims and was aware that they would be reimbursed afterwards. The women yelled at me that Dr. Kunec would not talk to me about why he wasn't taking car accident patients." At this point I was frustrated. I said, that's fine, I would like to speak to him about the way I'm being treated. Could you please ask him. She went away and came back saying he said he wouldn't talk me about not seeing car accident patents. "I said that's not what I want to talk to him about. I've seen him my whole life. I would just like to speak to my doctor. Is he refusing to speak to me?" I asked if I could stop by and talk to him since I was only five minutes away. She said "I wouldn't advise that," as if I was a threat. I said, fine can you just ask him if he'll talk to me. She went and came back and said "Dr. Kunec says your wife should seek treatment elsewhere." I asked multiple times if he was refusing to speak to me, and she would not answer the question. I was appalled that a doctor would refuse to speak to a patient. I said "someday, when you need help, someone will treat you as horribly as you've treated us." Jennifer then said, I'm not going to listen to threats and hung up the phone on me. I know doctors need to make money. But, clearly, Dr. Kunec's office is only concerned with money, since Dr. Kunec won't even talk to a patient he's seen for over 20 years! Go somewhere else!
