Today was my first visit with Dr. Pane. My previous two gynecologists retired while I lived out of…read morestate and I was sort of dreading starting over with a new GYN. Happily, I instantly felt comfortable with Dr. Pane (as well as her medical assistant - wish I'd gotten her name, and she was great). For the last 20 years, I have had the same complaint at nearly every gynecological visit, which was always attributed to one particular condition without much investigation aside from labs. This has never sat right with me, and I often have felt unheard, dismissed, and concerned that something was being missed. I also felt like my doctors sort of blamed me for my condition, when I have tried everything I can think of to improve it. That all changed yesterday. After listening to my concerns, Dr. Pane did a more thorough exam than I'm used to having. She gave me a potential diagnosis that FINALLY explains my daily experience. Out of the 6 gynecologists I've seen in the last 20 years, not one ever mentioned this. Even though there isn't necessarily a permanent fix for me, I have peace of mind that I have an answer now, a better idea of how to treat symptoms, and a doctor who truly listens to me. Thank you Dr. Pane! (I won't dock Dr. Pane for this - as another reviewer noted, Dignity Health does not use the Epic/MyChart system and Dignity's portal system is horrible. Dr. Pane worked around that by emailing me my labs THE NEXT DAY instead of making me wait until they were released in Dignity's portal system. Dignity's portal system does not autorelease lab/imaging/ procedure reports for patient viewing and often holds them for as long as 10 days until the physician goes in and releases them, whereas MyChart makes results immediately available, often before the ordering physician sees them. I moved from out of state and the system I came from used Epic/MyChart - I requested Dignity to connect their portal system to my out of state health system to transfer my gynecology records well over a year ago and they said they were working on it, but nothing ever happened. So Dr. Pane was not able to access pathology reports she needed from my old health system and had to base her treatment plan for me based on my faulty memory of what the reports said, just FYI).

I believe she is newer to Dignity Health so she had the most availability…read moreand I was able to get an appointment within a couple weeks (unlike many OBGYN Doctors in Central Sacramento. She was very patient with my questions and talked through my history abs health, and you could tell she genuinely cared. She didn't seem to be rushing me or making me feel like I was taking her time. She was also very efficient and delicate with the dreaded yearly exam, which I was incredibly grateful for. My 4:5 rating is for Dignity. I am disappointed to pick them knowing now that they are not a part of the EPIC system. The centralized patient data is beyond helpful, and they have an a required free standing system that can't pull history. This is annoying because you have to go back through your whole life of medical history to get their data accurate. UC Davis had all that pulled up for me as I was being examined, so it was more comfortable. Also, the nurse here was entering my info on paper with a pen, which is also incredibly antiquated. She took down info that then the Dr was supposed to read while she was there with me? It would have been smoother if the nurse entered it on the computer and then Van Brunt could click through to see what was important to her, not try to navigate the handwriting (which was a little awkward). I also didn't like all that on paper, and wonder what their shredding process is. Lastly, the portal is outside their Dignity portal and has to be sent after the appt - ONLY if you ask. This is really maddening that in 2020 patients can't go access their past visit notes and view past years (assuming I go here for years.) the Dr/Patient communication via the portal seems vital, and efficient so why is this not a standard process. Again, they are outdated and inefficient here. Maybe this is not important to you, but I wish I knew beforehand because I don't think I would have chosen the Dignity Health umbrella knowing they don't have centralized data.

Recently I have been experiencing the same pain so I decided to go to the ER. They were so patient with me and made sure I was well taken care of. Until then, I decided to be my own advocate in order to keep this wonderful doctor. It turned out she was out of office so that was a very good reason however, someone should have been responding in her absence. Then recently, we had a dire need for a prescription renewal. It. We had to resort to contacting another doctor to renew the thyroid medication as we were now completely out. It seems to be a lapse in commutation from the portal messages to the doctor and visa versa. We are greatly disappointed and pray this type of service does not happen to anyone else.

Serious error in medical records: unresponsive to direct contact…read more I am a patient of Dr. Nutter and I am writing to share a disappointing experience I had with this office and to caution other patients to review carefully their medical records after visits. During a past appointment and at a much later time I discovered that an extremely serious and inaccurate diagnosis and illness had been entered into my medical records--a diagnosis and illness I have never had. I did not catch this error sooner because when I reviewed the medical notes for the visit with Dr. Nutter on the portal, I overlooked reading the right side of the page where it lists the medical history. I discovered the error when I went to my primary care doctor for my wellness visit. I contacted the office as soon as I discovered the error but have not received a response in over a week. It's alarming to see such a significant and critical mistake in my records and equally concerning to be ignored when attempting to correct it. This is a significant breach of patient care. I'm very upset that errors of this nature can be made on permanent medical records and the office will not assist me. I want this medical error corrected on my permanent medical records. Since the office of Dr. Nutter can't assist me, unfortunately I will have to look at other avenues to ensure my medical records are corrected and accurate as is my right under HIPAA regulations.

I have struggled with fibroids and severe period pain for many years. When my gynecologist retired I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Nutter and she treated me with such disregard and disrespect that I could never even return to the same office. I tried to explain my severe pain to her and asked for a refill of my Tylenol with Codeine (which I only take 1-2 days per month) but she refused before I could even finish my sentence. She told me that she would not fill pain meds for me and that I would need to go through my primary care doctor. I told her I've never had to do that before because my pain is in my uterus, her jurisdiction. Then she proceeded to put two fingers inside of me and told me that my fibroids are very small and barely palpable. Not only is this untrue but her actions were completely inappropriate and unprofessional. The way she talked to me was extremely dismissive and demeaning. She made me feel like a drug seeking addict and she had no compassion for my pain. She did not bother to look at previous imaging or offer me any new diagnostic testing and she would not even look at the medication that was prescribed by my previous gynecologist. She told me to use birth control to manage the pain and when I told her I don't want to be on birth control because of my age (over 40) she completely dismissed me again. I was so stunned and humiliated with my pants literally down. I couldn't respond or defend myself anymore because I was traumatized by her extreme judgement and disregard for my health. Within a month of my appointment with Dr. Nutter, I was in the ER with severe pain and I had imaging which confirmed several large fibroids were likely the cause of my pain. It was recommended for me to follow-up with my gynecologist. Well, needless to say, that never happened. I will not be back to Dignity health thanks to Dr Nutter and her unprofessional and demeaning treatment.

In my opinion that means she is trained on the latest medicine and had the energy required to dedicate herself to taking care of me. I can usually get in to see her in a timely manner, but if she is booked I can see one of the PAs or NPs, which is perfectly fine, as they are lovely too. In my experience, office staff have always been kind and helpful. When I go to my appointments, I've never had a long wait - they are generally pretty much on schedule. I would recommend her in a heartbeat.
