I told her we were just Christian.. she said what kind of Christian.. I said.. well, I was raised Mormon (because I'm honest) I didn't say this part.. Finding myself and my truth was the hardest thing I've ever done. Breaking away from the Mormon church in Utah.. was no easy task. However I did it for me and my kids and I'm proud of the choices I've made. I don't care for organized religion. So.. I told her we were christian. Because we believe in Christ. I'm open to it all. Catholics, Protestant, Mormons, Even atheist. Because I don't judge. I just love. She then said.. We don't accept Mormons. I said... I just told you we aren't Mormon. (Haven't been for 10 years) She said. Oh right. You said that. She proceeded to say that people new to the area need to establish a church and wait 3 months. Then get a pastor reference. I get it. I'm a rule follower. However, am I suppose to put my kids in public for 3 months? Then switch them as they're getting acclimated? Or just not put my kids in school and wait to see if they accept us. Already judging us? That's not very Christ like. I don't care to be apart of a school or church that's judge mental. That's one reason I left the Mormon religion. The lack of knowledge and lack of understanding was a humbling conversation for me. After her saying all that. I said, You know what? I don't think this school is right for us. Thank you for your time. Thank you Ontario Christian, for showing me what I want no part of.

The school staff office, teachers and Principal Mr. Ramirez, has welcomed my family with open arms. I love this school!! We enrolled our daughter to K, and she has bloomed very quickly. She's speaking up more and giving new ideas. I'm very impressed. Yes, the school hasn't opened yet, but that hasn't stopped the school from teaching. We have been consistently impressed with the quality of the academics and the thoughtfulness of the curriculum. The teachers are not only knowledgeable, but truly invested in their students' growth--academically, spiritually, and personally. It is evident that excellence is a priority across every area of the school. Beyond the classroom, the extracurricular programs and athletics have further enriched our son's experience. One of the things we love most is the sense of genuine community. At sporting events, it is common to see teachers and administrators not only supporting their own children, but enthusiastically cheering on the entire team. That presence speaks volumes about their commitment and heart for the school. We are equally encouraged by the number of alumni who remain actively involved in the community. At Ontario…read moreChristian while there are certainly some positives, I ultimately feel that the school fell short in preparing students for life after high school. One of my biggest criticisms is the chapel program. A typical chapel often felt like it was roughly 60% games, 30% worship, and only a small portion dedicated to an actual message or meaningful biblical teaching. When there was a message, it was often centered on very basic themes like "Jesus loves you," rather than challenging students to think deeply about their faith and how it applies to real life. Academically, I found the school to be relatively easy. I rarely studied throughout high school, took multiple AP classes, and still graduated with around a 3.8 cumulative GPA. I don't think academics should be unnecessarily difficult, but I do think students should be challenged more and better prepared for the expectations of college and adulthood. That said, I had many teachers who were genuinely excellent. The teachers I had were usually supportive, available when I needed help, and willing to give good advice beyond just academics. Unfortunately, several of the strongest teachers I remember have since left, whether through retirement or because they disagreed with the direction of the school. Ontario Christian is also rooted in the Dutch Reformed tradition, which includes more predestination-oriented theological beliefs. While I respect that tradition, I personally don't believe all of those doctrines align with my understanding of Scripture. More broadly, I sometimes felt that the school could have done a better job thoughtfully and consistently integrating biblical values into everyday school life rather than simply presenting them as general ideas. Overall, Ontario Christian isn't a bad school, and there are definitely good people and good teachers there. However, based on my experience, I believe the school has room to improve academically, spiritually, and especially in preparing students to actually navigate the world after graduation.
