Bernard Shorle the owner and his airhead assistant really screwed me over regarding how they prepared and filed my 2023 tax return negligent and incompetent, lazy and unorganized. They filed my business taxes late in May of 2024 because the owne, B.J had health issues. They filed my business seperate from my personal 1040 return. I asked ahead what would be my tax liability. They told me $3,900.00 total for both after they filed. Well that wasn't the case. They submitted my return without me seeing the return and approving before they filed. So now I owe $19,000.00 on top of the $3,900.00. I was in a panic and sent emails, phone calls and messages. They refused to answer my calls, and emails. So I had to call the hair salon next door to find out that they were actually in the office. So I notified the airhead and the owner that I contacted the business next door and they said they can't stand them next door. A lot of clients call the hair salon because they are irresponsible and lazy. They had the nerve to tell me that I have issues because I left so many messages in a weeks time. Not everyone has an extra $20k sitting around. They negligected to file any extensions for personal or business. I owe an extra $3,000.00 because they didn't file an extension for being late. They told me they will not fix my returns and to go somewhere else because I busted them out calling next door. I wouldn't trust these people ever again. I have begged them that I don't have the money and I need my return amended. They will not answer my messages. Run away from these people! You have an imcometant idiot that screens calls and emails. No one is a priority but themselves. They were reported to the IRS. The IRS admitted they were definitely negligent. I'm so stressed out, I don't know where else to turn. I also asked for a refund because they didn't complete my tax returns the correct way. I was told no refund! Best of luck dealing with these incompetent idiots! Pretty fun how after people write bad reviews, suddenly a couple of 5 Star reviews show up afterwards. I' whomever posted 5 star reviews was a relative or a friend asked to post a positive review! First it was difficult to just get a quote on completing my taxes. They had to set me up in some portal which took a week to get me logged in correctly. Then they needed to see my prior year return which I dropped off on March 14th. I was finally able to log in the portal to get my quote on March 22nd. So I dropped off all my documents on March 24th since they are closed on Sunday. So since I have not heard from ROI (no call or email) since then I figured I would send Deanne Congiusti an email to see if she needed anything else from me or if she was done with my taxes after 7 days. The place I used to go to I made an appointment and I was in and out in an hour. So Deanne Congiusti replied saying in the quote that they need to have all the documents by March 15th to guarantee completion by April 15th. She never told me that over the phone or in any email correspondence. You figure she would mention all of this since she recieved all my documents after her deadline. Deanne said she would be able to file an extension if needed for a fee. All around a bad bad experience. Terrible communication. So it's April 1st and Deanne Congiusti says feel free to come pick up your documents and go elsewhere. Great customer service especially for a first time customer. I will go elsewhere and tell everyone I know to stay away from ROI. I usually do not do this but this is how upset I am with this whole experience.
