Now that I have a little one, we decided to take her to a pumpkin farm to see what 'fall' is all…read moreabout - Howell's did not disappoint! I've never been to a farm like this: there were pumpkin people everywhere (dressed up, set up in different poses), some were part of an animatronic display, there was a haunted house, jumping haystack for kids, a GOAT WALK WITH REAL GOATS walking about the elaborate wooden structure, lambs, peacocks, A PIG RACE!!, 2 corn mazes, tractor ride, the list goes on. Admission is $10, and some attractions require tokens, or you can buy a wristband to get unlimited access. My little one loved the dinosaur ride - each person sits in their own dinosaur, which are linked together and pulled and they take you on a trip around the farm. I would definitely make this trip again next year, and the year after, and the year after, and the year after...

This has pretty much been a family staple for the 6 years ive been married. The kids like the…read moreanimatronics and a few of the attractions, with the day ending pumpkin pick. But we all agreed that yesterday might just be the last time we come back, seeing as they now charge $100 for two adults, 1 teen and a child under 10. I understand that a business has to make money to survive and it is a once a year attraction... but they are now in the same territory as going to darien lake/canada's wonderland or any of the attractions in toronto, And dont really offer the same value. You still have to pay for food, the cannon and sling shot, paintball attractions and now thats pushing $150-$175 for a visit. For what they offer we felt it doesnt justify the price, the food court had limited selection and wasnt that great, the "hot" apple cider was luke warm at best and the poutine we bought was way too salty and didnt have enough gravy to melt the cheese curds. They had an escape room trailer there promoting a business but it was just the regular haunted house so why even have that ? It caused confusion with more than a few people as i heard them asking where on the lot it was, to be told "oh thats not here, thats something they do elsewhere"... in all honesty, there wasnt that much there to keep you interested to stay. We were there about 2 hrs and were bored, about half the animatronics were not working so the kids were disappointed. You would think if they are charging a premium price they would have everything working and maybe add some new things to keep it fresh and exciting, but that wasnt the case... maybe they could include at least a pumpkin of medium to small size, a small piece of fudge or one try at the cannons/paintball attractions in the price... heck a seasons pass to darien lake cost $65 and the meal plan is another $25... so for around $120 cdn you already have a better deal all summer and part of fall compared to one day at howell's. This honestly will be our last year going and thats sad as we want to support local businesses and attractions, but when they charge those prices we have to look at what value we are getting for the money and unfortunately this wasnt one of them.
