I made a total of 9 round trip visits from Anchorage/Wasilla for a debilitating disease. Of the different medications she, ( Samantha Hamilton ) wrote for me to try, she never prescribed enough to help me at all. She never would engage in any conversation or even apply herself to show she truly wanted to help. I wish I could have given zero stars! If you need help don't waste your time, money and the aggravation of visiting this clinic.!!! Jeff read more

Unfortunately I could not find a listing for the Sheree's Cafe on Yelp and brought it to her attention. Algone Clinic is located in the same building and occupies some of the downstairs and the top floor. My wife is a new patient of Algone and I will do a write up for them when I have enough experience. I found this cafe during her visit. See my first write up. I realize this is unusual but this Cafe is most exceptional and I hope the business owner or Yelp can get together to get her a personal listing. I recommended it to her. She does an excellent business with great sandwiches, salads, soups and drinks daily in the area. Lunch time is I would think is her busiest time with a morning crowd for coffee and early breakfast items. read more

The other pain clinic I used to go to was very unorganized and treated you like cattle. Dr. Markewich and his staff run a very organized Pain Clinic at Algone. Dr. Markewich spent a good amount of time with me and my wife giving me options. My surgery went fast and painless and I can't recommend them enough! Awesome place. read more

The scheduling here is a joke. Set an 8:00 appointment. Show up at 7:50. They say I was supposed to be there at 7:30 for an 8:00 appointment. I ask why. They say I was to be there early to fill out new patient paperwork. I informed that they had me fill it out ahead of time online and why would they set an appointment time for 8:00 if they wanted me there at 7:30. Tell me the Dr says come back at 11:30. Whoever is managing the schedulers need to get it straight. Came back at 10:50. I didn't know at this point if 11:30 meant 11:00. Dr. was great. Very attentive to my issues and offered a couple of different options. Fix the scheduling and it would be a 5 star. read more

my husband is 75 and he is on dialysis with a terminal heart condition, yet this sports doctor said he didn't need pain medication anymore and is reducing him after 12 years. Dr James Alex could care less about his patients. Hate this clinic! read more

I am very active and have battled arthritic and degenerative issues for many years. I have consulted a number of orthopedic specialist throughout this period, and all jumped to a double knee replacement conclusion as their first response - even when specifically requesting their opinion of stem cell therapy as a first step. After researching stem cell therapy alternatives off and on, I finally visited the Algone clinic. Dr. Peterson carefully reviewed my history and imaging results, and most importantly, MY GOALS. He recently performed regenerative stem cell procedures on my right knee and platelet rich plasma injections in my lumbar spine, through the Regenexx protocol. I am very pleased with his approach, thoroughness, personal care and that of his entire staff. All of my many follow-up questions have been responded to quickly. I also appreciate the clinic's coordination with their Anchorage PT clinic, along with the variety of online support. In less than a week of follow-up PT sessions, my right knee is already considerably stronger, stable, and pain free. I am excited to make the transition back to full activity, and am confident this was the best choice. I recommend the Algone Regenerative Clinic highly, and recommend others follow the Regenexx recommendations completely. I will be undertaking the same procedure on my left knee soon - even after having a microfracture repair procedure done to repair it 3 years ago. read more

My grandmother has had terrible back pain for years, but after receiving an epidural injection from Dr. Grissom she says she felt better than she has in years, and was able to do the things she loves like gardening. Dr. Grissom and Dr. Hinman were both very kind to her and listened to all of her concerns before helping her with a treatment plan. I would recommend any of the PA's or doctors at this clinic for either yourself or a family member. read more

Fantastic, they have been very good to me. Dr. Freeman is AWESOME! I really like her. She makes me feel comfortable and has taken good care of me. I wish all the doctor I have to deal with were like her. read more

Dr. Freeman and her medical staff are so professional, there is an assistant with red hair (I forgot her name forgive me) She is amazing! She administered an injection so well there was no bruising for the first time ever she also took blood from me and it was painless! I would never, ever recommend this clinic to anyone. My mother had cancer for 7 years and the treatment she received at this institution was far and away the worst of any hospital or clinic in all those years. My mom was referred to Algone by her oncologist in the last months of her life to help get the pain from the tumors in her lungs and ribs under control. Instead of help getting her pain to manageable levels, Stephen Shortridge treated my mother terribly. He lectured her about the opioid crisis like she was coming in with a broken toe instead of tumors all over her body that kept her from sleeping or moving. He told us he couldn't prescribe a higher dosage (the dosage he previously prescribed not controlling her pain) because "what if someone breaks into your house and steals it?"Once when we arrived 10 minutes late (after my mother used her little energy to get dressed and come to the clinic, and then had to carefully walk over sidewalks at the clinic that were covered in ice and hadn't been salted) he canceled her appointment and refused to see her, even after we offered to wait all day until he had time. We had to wait a week to get a new appointment, and she was in agony for that entire week. Her pain was finally controlled when she was admitted to the ER for kidney failure and they gave her the proper prescription, not through any work on the part of Algone. Stephen Shortridge and Algone Clinic are directly responsible for making the last months of my mother's life much more painful and horrific than they ever had to be. I hope no one else ever has to go through what my mother went through because of incompetent and uncaring medical facilities like this one. Stephen Shortridge should be fired. read more

I am sorry to say I will never and have never recommend this place to anybody. By our experiences with this place, they just don't seem to give a damn about the patients. My biggest complaint about this business is their lousy communication. Horrible. My husband would call concerning his 83 year old mothers' pain from compression fractures of her spine. Usually, nobody answered, if someone answered, my husband was assured the doctor would call back as soon as he could. Days later someone would finally call, leaving my poor mother-in-law in pain until they decided to return his call. Time and time again, this would happen. When we were at the doctor's office, we complained to him and he got the manager in to talk to us. She acted concerned and upset about this and promised she would have a talk with the staff to make sure this would never happen again. Following week: Mom in pain, call given, no answer--leave message, message left, few days later call finally returned. Nothing changed, they don't care, just gimmie your money. Second complaint: When my husband tried to get her pain meds increased for transport (and only transport) to his office and the surgery clinic because it was agonizing for her to move from her wheelchair to enter or exit the car, they upped it from Tylenol 3 to Tylenol 4, which was absolutely useless for her and we told the doctor that many times. The pain was so agonizing for her to be transported that she refused to go to his office or have any more surgeries if needed. She ended up bed-ridden because of the pain and after her 4th surgery, she never got out of bed again. The clinic also never, ever called after her surgeries to see how she was doing. By all appearances, they don't care about the patients once a procedure is complete. read more

Never actually got to see anyone here. Took my 83 year old mother for her appointment and we were 1 minute late, last appointment of the day and they refused to see her. Rescheduled for a later date and they told us that if she was late again or missed the appointment she would never get another one. Decided to try a different clinic that will hopefully be a little more customer orientated. read more

Here I thought I had finally found a place (Algone International Pain Clinic, Wasilla) to help me with all of the pain I was having. Well, the joke was on me apparently. Each time I have been there, the waiting time (even though you have an appt.) is absurd. Someone complains about it everytime I am there because it is just ridiculous how long this place makes you wait. You must give a urine sample also everytime you are there. I had never had a problem with this until I noticed that other people including patients have had access to it. I am SURE that this would be frowned upon in the medical community and I was very taken aback when I became aware of this malpractice. read more

I've been a patient for a couple years now. This clinic is so much better than the one I was going to in Eagle River. The staff is always friendly, even when they are busy. I see Patrick Alonso, PA-C and he is awesome. He always has a smile on his face and is in a good mood, since the last thing I want to deal with when I'm in pain is someone with a crappy attitude. He is an excellent clinician and is always willing to answer my questions. read more
