My mom and I fell ill from a restaurant we ate at and actually had to extend our stay before being able to fly home. The staff was very accommodating and made it a seamless experience for us.

Also, there are no safes in the rooms to lock up your laptop. I have always found the staff to be extremely friendly. That includes front desk, housekeeping, and the person taking care of the free breakfast buffet. On that last point, the buffet is really nice. As with any breakfast buffet, scrambled eggs tend to dry out after a while, but they are quite good if you get them when a new dish comes out. Sometimes, they have mini-omelettes, which I have found to be very good. There is also a pancake machine that turns out great pancakes. There is no restaurant or bar in the hotel, but there is a Mexican restaurant across the street, as well as a coffee place. There is every fast-food chain imaginable on the same road as the hotel. There is also a Chili's that is short drive towards downtown. If you find yourself in or near Hastings, Michigan, you should (1) figure out why you are there; and (2) stay at this hotel.

It was very colorful with lots of incredible art. Our particular room was divided into 3 spaces. Upon entering there was a small foyer with an open closet to our left. It had a luggage rack and room for hanging clothing and Luxurious bathrobes that were soft and cozy !! A few steps took us to a hall-there was a cove with a commode to the left, soft lighting and a towel rack supplied us with high quality towels and washcloths including dark washcloths embroidered with "make up removal". Left a few steps and there was a large marble vanity with delightful products to meet all your needs. I was surprised to find a huge shower, w/plenty of seating and showerheads that were actually located in the ceiling as well as a large oval shower head that you could sit under. Going back just beyond the entrance was the actual bedroom. Mind you there were areas carved out of the wall along the way with statuary ....everything was so unique!! I felt like I was in Europe, We had a queen size bed, and most importantly, high-quality sheets and bedding, which is really important to me. There were a couple of windows covered with beautiful drapery for privacy. One of our windows was quite near the courtyard and had a very cool sculpture hanging from a tree. There was a comfy loveseat along with a reasonably sized television. In a whole separate interior section of the bedroom, there was a bathtub. This was no ordinary tub. It was huge like easily fits two people, but could fit more.. it was jetted with multiple jets. I had never seen a tub like . The first night we were startled by what sounded like a huge fan but was actually designed to blow out any water or dampness that was in them to keep them functioning well. I found this out when I got up to investigate what was going on over near the tub,there was a sticker that explained-I had not noticed it earlier, but this happened nightly about 9 PM whether you use the tub or not. I was incredulous. You could expect that every suite was individually decorated, but all have comfort and luxury as key components. I'm thinking I'm going to run out of space but want to comment on the delicious cooked to order breakfast. It was exactly that. Omelettes, oatmeal, eggs cooked anyway you wanted along with fresh fruit and freshly baked muffins that were still warm. The coffee was a little strong for me, but I think most people would find it very satisfactory. We highly recommend this but bed-and-breakfast if you're ever in the East Lansing area in fact, we would even travel a few hours to get to it. We plan to return soon!!! Pics are owner photos.

Located north of Battle Creek…read morein what feels like the middle of nowhere, you turn down a short drive that takes you back into a forest and suddenly a stately manor with beautiful grounds appears. I honestly felt like I walked through a wardrobe into a Narnia world. The small sign at the drive was a bit tough to see, so as your map tells you you're close, slow down and look for the Bed and Breakfast sign. The vibe here is full on beautiful Pinterest, French countryside garden chateau. Everywhere you look there is something beautiful to see, from the outdoor pavilion to the stately rooms inside. The ivy covered buildings and gardens bursting with blooms are great backdrops for any photos. The wedding I attended was on a super hot, sunny June day, but there were plenty of amenities provided to guests to alleviate the heat: shade parasols, handheld electric fans, folding fans, and plenty of cold water. This was such a thoughtful touch and really helped make guests comfortable. The mansion in the background was a stunning view for the short but sweet ceremony. Once the ceremony concluded, we were greeted by staff members with water and wine and were directed to a courtyard for hors d'oeuvres and an outdoor bar. There were areas of shade from trees and umbrellas, which was a nice reprieve from the sun. The food was all perfectly arranged and the bacon wrapped date I had was a delicious sweet and savory bite! Molly and Jenn were pouring drinks with big smiles despite the heat. We were ushered into the main reception area -- a beautiful, airy, open pavilion -- by a tinkling dinner bell! Dinner was delicious and all staff members I interacted with were incredibly polite and professional. I was really blown away by the details and care put into this celebration at this amazing venue! The inn is the perfect combination of historic charm and modern amenities. Room - and bed - were extremely comfortable. Loved the big shower. There's a great deck off the back with a view of the river and all the cool birds that make it home. Lowell is a sweet small town - some nice historic architecture, the flour mill across the street and had a great meal next door at Easy Street.

Free WiFi is reasonably fast. The water pressure isn't good when lots of people are using their showers, not a problem when the place isn't near capacity. Staffed by only one person at a time, but both workers we met were helpful, polite, friendly and pleasant. There are only four or five rooms, so they sell out often, make your plans ahead of time.
